No hooks to hang towels in bathroom
Locacion y precio
Close to public transportation and London Center.
Lack of restaurant. Rather mediocre quality breakfast.
location - close to Victoria Coach station
The room was ok and beds were comfortable the shower was fantastic. Very quiet at night.
Dust from renovations going on and the noise from people in the early morning as it sound like they were in our room talking.
Great value for money...we had a room for 4 and it made a change for the kids to be given a proper bed rather than a pull-out makeshift bed. Quiet room considering busy area...slept really well
Shower bit worn but considering price it wasn't much to complain about
Wifi does not work in the lower ground rooms
beds very comfy
Awful communal breakfast area; not enough space, cold toast left on side for you, cold croissants/pastries etc... yuk!
God size shower and rooms
The room was nice and clean
No mirror in bathroom, no bedside lamps, not so good to be given the top floor when you are in your 50s and no lift.
Comfortable, freshly decorated and furnished room. Terrific en suite shower.
Communal areas still in the process of being uprated. Not much knee space for the en suite toilet.
Close to Victoria
Wifi and breakfast was awful
Location was great
Building work going on and we were only told on arrival we should of been informed before we arrived ! Check out way to early. More of a hostel than. Hotel . Room tiny bathroom sink faulty !
great location, reconstructed, super bathrom
shaped wifi, slow speed of internet
The hotel was very good. very centrally located. Staff were very helpful. Lack of lift was not a problem for us but may be an issue for an elderly couple / individual. Would i recommend this hotel.....Yes.
Wifi was quite poor.
Position close to Victoria, staff helpful and courteous.
On going building work but staff did their best to minimise building work. Should be better when breakfast room is bigger. Was very crowded.
staff, cleanliness, bed, facilities available in room and amazing bathroom and shower.
some carpets torn but still not bad. just a small thing!!!
there was nothing special, just a hotel, ordinary, stuff ordinary, no smile like robot. we have not found something special. also there s nothing to complain but location, it s not quite easy u should walk bit to tube.
work obviosly being done in the hotel, tried to make it comfortable
Recently refurbished room decorated to a high standard. Very comfortable bed. Fantastic walk-in shower. Good continental breakfast. Great location. Will definitely be my first choice when staying over in London next.
Lots of stairs to room - but quite usual for London
Breakfast room small unorganised hotel loudy
Location was perfect-close to restaurants and transportation. Staff was friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable and everything was clean. Breakfast was simple but tasty and filling. Would definitely stay here again.
Shower was excellent and staff was friendly
The curtains in the room did not fit the windows so light from the street was coming in and disturbing my sleep The walls are paper thin so can hear next door, also keeping me awake Bathroom did not have a mirror so I could not shave in the morning for my meeting The stairs going to the top floor was so narrow and steep that I couldnt fit unless I walked sideways.
The Airways Hotel occupies a once grand 6 storey Victorian terraced house in a quiet location between Victoria and Pimlico. The location is good for Victoria bus station (5 minutes walk), Victoria Station (6 mins), Pimlico (similar) and Westminster. Within a 5 minute walk are many eateries, pubs, bars, restaurants, fast food vendors and shops. With larger selections well within a 10 minute walk. The hotel provides free WiFi on all floors and a self service continental breakfast is included in the room rate, served in the basement. The Breakfast selection was limited with a choice of cereals, toast, croissants, jam & butter, yogurt, fruit salad, fruit juice, milk, tea and coffee. However, for a budget hotel, this is better than many hotels in the area that charge extra for a similar offering. Due to the grand size of the premises, the room sizes are larger than many other budget hotels in the vicinity, which is a bonus. Single rooms of around 16-18 square metres, and twin/double rooms 18-20 square metres. Both have bedside tables, a desk and chair(s), hanging rail and shelves for clothes and belongings, air-conditioning (possibly only available in the summer), an electric fan, central heating, tea and coffee making facilities, a hairdryer and a small flatscreen television. The new en-suites are small, clean and modern with an excellent designer shower consisting of a waterfall and a wall mounted hand held shower, with good consistent high pressure water supply. Bath and hand towels are provided, plus soap and shower gel. The reception on the ground floor is spacious and includes luggage storage, local magazines, tourist brochures and soft drinks for sale. Suitable for singles, couples and friends for a stopover on a budget. Can accommodate guests for more than a couple of nights, as there is sufficient hanging space, clothes storage and floor space (compared to similar hotels in the Victoria area).
In January 2015 the hotel was being renovated with one of the two main staircases used as a builders access. Rooms were renovated floor by floor including new en-suites, redecoration, new doors and carpets, but unfortunately the old (but not classic or antique) worn furniture remained. Perhaps they intend to replace the well worn furniture en-mass when the renovations are done (management: take note - here is an opportunity to improve!). The hotel has 6 floors (including the basement), but no lift, so the climb can be an effort, particularly with luggage. WARNING: The staircase to the top floor, which was once the servants quarters, is very narrow and steep, making it very awkward with luggage. The main downside is that the design and layout of the new en-suites have insufficient space around the WC. They are positioned so close to the side wall (within 4CM) and the front wall that only a person of small stature could easily sit and use it! This is a big design fault on the part of the plumber and fitter, and not easy to rectify once installed! The Airways Hotel, Victoria could be a leading budget hotel in the area, but for the loo position, the worn cheap furniture and low spec TV's. It has many good qualities compared to similar hotels in the area, but I cannot rate it more than a three. Value for money, but a couple of let-down's. I booked the hotel via Bookings.com, but there was no mention of renovations in progress and builders/fitters were still working after 7pm.
