The staff were helpful and friendly, the hotel is as its name implies, the creation of a man who loves ships and the sea. There are images and parts of sailing boats scattered around the public areas. We loved the atmosphere. The dining room blends well with the pub area and views of the sea are available from almost anywhere. The food was excellent. The hotel does not pretend to be first class, but it is perfectly adequate unless you are hyper picky. For the price I do not think you could expect much more than what is on offer. We would happily return if we needed acccomodation in this area.

Good location.. Basic Family guest house type establishment. Higher end of price range for what was basic (but clean) establishment, however it does have a very nice bar restaurant area. Rooms a little dated but in fairness clean.

The first impression wasn't good from the outside but the inside was very good and the food in the bar and resturant was excellent and they were always so busy but still had time for a friendly chat. Wish the weather was as good||||||

Close to the beach, attentive staff, nice food. Sea view somewhat spoiled by glass fibre models of a Blues Brother and a donkey. A conservatory seating area would have been pleasant but leaked in the gale force storms, including into the restaurant below. A little too far out of town for non-drivers when the weather is as foul as it was. Soft bed gave be a terrible back ache.

The breakfast meals were gorgeous, me and my partner especially loved the eggs. I am vegetarian and did not feel like there was much choice for my breakfast.

The food was of a high standard. When we booked via the internet it said "free parking opposite ther hotel". However, this was untrue. The parking opposite is metered and is 40p per hour. We did raise this with the hotel and one of their representatives said "yes it was free parking during winter period but not now." As this is one of our main criterias for chosing a hotel we feel that we were somewhat misled.

It was great value. The facilities were very clean. The breakfast substantial and the staff pleasant. This is just a suggestion. It would have been nice to have a comfortable chair in the room as the weather was't great and it would have been nice to have a place to sit and read.

The view from the bedroom was superb. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Tea and coffee making facilities and toiletries were provided which was more than you could reasonably expect for the room rate we paid. The bedrooms being in a separate building meant that we were not disturbed by any noise from the bar. The bar and dining room area was somewhat cramped, but everyone was very friendly.

The room was lovely. Uninterrupted sea views. Location was great. Complimentary coffee's as room not ready on arrival. Staff changes constantly or so it seemed and as with most places some staff warm and welcoming others not so.

The staff were some of the most friendliest and welcoming I have met. I would stay again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The food is good the bar well stocked and view amazing. It has character and can't wait to return. My stay was far too short. It's been a long time since I felt that sad about going home.

Staff were very friendly and room was nice and clean as it had just been renevated. our room was not in the hotel but in a B and B a couple of doors down the road, room was ok but i was expecting a balcony and a sea view but instead got a seating area at the front of the room, i could see the sea between the parked cars Opposite though, also there are signs everywhere with rules and regulations including "do not laugh too loudly" i can understand this as we had a couple in the next room to us and you could hear them talking as clear as day...,

Met by very helpful staff, made to feel welcome straight away. Very happy with the room, amazed at the size and quality for the price we paid (£100 for 2 nights B&B). Facilities were more than adequate for what we needed and the sea view balcony addition was a really nice touch.Great idea to have the balcony enclosed with a seating area, makes it an all year round facility. Breakfast was excellent, with a range of choices inc. Fruit, Cereals, Yoghurt, Toast and Cooked to order Full English of guests choosing. Fruit juice and Tea/Coffee on tap. Nothing was too much trouble Purely a personal thing but the bar music was a bit too loud for a quiet night in our room as we were above the main bar area. We knew we were booking at a pub so it really is just an observation of how things were as opposed to a direct complaint/negative feedback. It did finish promptly at bar closing though and was quiet from then through the night until the morning hoovering which we feel may have been a bit early for some including ourselves. Cant really say that this makes us in any way not like the Hotel just making useful observations.

I had a lovely stay at the Navigator. It was nice and quiet and the staff were friendly. The room & ensuite was lovely and clean and was so warm! The only negative that I could say about the room was that the shower was a bit annoying. It was freezing and then all of a sudden it would get extremely hot and then it would just turn off every few minutes I didn't mention this to the staff as there's probably nothing they could do there and then and we were only staying two nights. Other than that I had a lovely time and would definately return!
