Ideal location only a quarter of a mile from Sheffield Speedway at Owlerton Stadium.
the staff there are really friendly.
very narrow parking area.
Staff were very friendly and always helpful.
The stairs were a nightmare! Very steep!!
I went to Sheffield for running at Sheffield Trail Rush 15.2 mile in Graves Park. I enjoyed and I will do back again. Thank you and good luck. Kind Regards Jesus Baltasar Muro Barroso
The mattress wasn't very comfortable and the place wasn't very clean.
Lovely, helpful staff and manager.
It can be a bit noisy, as the B&B is situated on a main road.
Person who did the check-in was friendly. Place was clean. Location was good for what we wanted.
This is supposed to be a bed-and-breakfast. Breakfast was not included in the price - you had to pay £5 extra. There was a charge for using a credit card and this was not shown on the booking form. "Your card may be pre-authorised" meant that they took 25% off prior to the booked date. I would not recommend the place because of these negative points.
goop price good breakfast friendly staff
not a lot
Cheap and exceptionally friendly. For the price, can't complain.
Location but not much they can do about that.
Not very good first impression, but staff was nice and fairly clean place. Ok if you're looking for a cheap stay, for 1 or 2 nights. I went on business on my own, so not that bothered.
Place has a funny smell, breakfast was poor - watery scrambled eggs, I was served instant coffee instead of a filtered one, tap in bedroom sink was broken. Would not recommend it for a couple or long stay, unless you're not fussy about anything!
V friendly and helpful staff. Parking available and good comfy bed.
A basic B&B with shared bathroom facilities. Not a criticism - we were aware of this when we booked. Good value for money.
over priced, not ensuite which was embarrassing since it wasn't obvious at point of sale, beds unclean I would never return here it was more like a youth hostel than a B+B
Value for money, much cheaper than anywhere else I found. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, though in need of a makeover. Not too far from the centre 6 -10 pounds in taxi each way, which can add up if staying for any long period so something to consider. Good selection of tv channels. I would recommend based on value and friendly staff.
There were times i couldn't find any member of staff (when checking out for example) with a taxi waiting outside. The stairs are dangerously steep which is precarious especially carrying luggage. The shower and toilets were shared which i wasn't aware of until the day. I ordered a single bedroom, however there was infact 3 beds in my room, which was fine just filled up the room with beds. There was no shower gel or shampoo supplied, which is fine however as i wasn't aware of it until I got there I found myself unprepared.
The shower was filfy, the rooms smell, kettle needs cleaning .I would not stay here again.
Made to feel welcome on my arrival. Single room small, but warm. TV had lots of channels.
The stairs up to my room were very steep. Room very basic. Needs refurbishing.
Adequate for my needs. Should I need to I would use again.
Stayed 1 night due to working in the area thought the owner was very pleasent and helpful and the place was clean and tidy and good value for money would definitely stay again
Was in room on top floor and the b&b had free WiFi but couldn't access it from top floor signal Was to weak could of done with something to boost the signal so all floors could use it
Staff very helpfull, considerate and good natured. Wi-Fi good and fast. Rooms and (separate) bathroom clean. Would be very useful if you were going to Hillsborough for a match as it is practically next door.
The location was by a very busy dual carriage way with not the most inspiring of views. Did not really make you feel like talking a walk into town. It is about £9 taxi journey but I think you can get a bus. To be fair this is a fine place to stay for business but maybe not for a romantic weekend? ;-)
warm friendly staff, clean and tidy,
Secure parking, breakfast & staff. Price.
Bedroom carpet, sink in room.
Staff & Breakfast A New Mattress
Nice staff, Good fried breakfast.
The room was very noisy because of another rooms tv and the busy road. It was also impossible to make the room dark due to a pointless window above the door letting hall light in and extremely thin white curtains. The taps only gave a tiny amount of water in the first night and no water in the morning. I got no sleep on the first night. On the second night I returned to the hotel after a long 13 hour work day and decided to drive 3 hours to get home rather than stay another night.
The staff is very open-minded, non complicated, friendly and always ready to help.
The rooms are simple, the stairs very steep, toilets and showers bottom level.
lovely stuff, excellent help with different questions, car parking for free at the hotel! very tasty english breakfast :)
The Alara is perfectly situated for a night out in Sheffield, especially if you going to the casino. It was easy to find and had good secure parking facilities. The staff were very welcoming and the breakfast was freshly made and delicious. It was the price that was the best deal. I'd recently stopped overnight in one of the big hotels which was over priced and over rated. I'll certainly return to the Alara
