Alba Hostel Glasgow  

An excellent clean property with traditional Victorian style building. Reception is welcoming, staff is helpful with smiley faces. Area is quite and out of the busy city center, transport available 24/7 like trains, buses and taxi. I hired the own hostel pick up service from Glasgow airport which was cheap and quick compare to other taxi services. I will recommend this to others for long or short stay.

Such a let down. Not professional. Was not given the option to pay with a card. Made to walk up the road to an ATM. Made to move rooms between the first and second night because they made a mistake with my booking. Second room was not clean, was dingy and right next to the kitchen so it smelled. The door was unlocked and open when I got down there. Also fire doors were proped open. The kitchen was useless. Didn't feel safe there and when I made a complaint the man at the desk laughed in my face. Not a good experience and I'm happy I had the option to go back to Edinburgh on the train. Don't know what I would have done if I had been from a different country.

Awesome showers and toilet facilities. Nice relaxing common room with direct access to seating outside.

The friendly and helpfull staff. The atmosphere of the hostel which is very homy and welcoming and inviting to make oneself feel at home. The great value for money. The uncomplicated way of booking (own website with phone number) and the carrying out of the formalities around the stay. The effort staff is making to help and make customers feel welcome.

The hostel could do with being cleaned either more often or more thoroughly this might be an issue for me personally as I (workrelated) have and eye for this. This does not compromise the quality of the stay.

Очень узкий въезд на парковку,завтрак за 2£ "готовишь сам".Даже в общественном месте WiFi не всегда хорошо работает.При оплате картой берут 3%.

Największą uwagę przykuwał stan hostelu. łAzienka, kuchnia I pokój były w znakomitym stanie, wszędzie panował porządek. Położenie hostelu bardzo korzystne a obsługa nie podlega dyskusji. Stan wzorowy!

Die Beschreibung ist einfach nur falsch! Unter einem Deluxezimmer mit eigenem Bad versteh ich was anderes als Bad im Gang und kleines Zimmer mit schlechte Matratze. dünne Wände, man versteht jedes Wort was an der Reztion gesprochen wird schlechte Matratze mageres Frühstück, mit defekter Geschirrspüler

Unsauberes Badezimmer, unsauberes Zimmer. Lustlose Mitarbeiter (ich hatte drei verschiedene an der Rezeption gesehen). Das schlimmste ist, dass ich nicht das bekommen habe, was ich gebucht und als Buchungsbestätigung bekommen habe. Gebucht war ein Zimmer inkl. Bad, bekommen habe ich eines ohne Bad. Die Buchungsbeschreibung bei mir und dem Hostel waren unterschiedlich. Meines war inkl. Bad, das des Hostels ohne Bad. @Booking.com: Hier sollte besser aufgepasst werden, dass zwischen Buchung zwischen Gast und Hotel/Hostel die Daten übereinstimmen!!!

centreからのアクセスもバス、電車どちらでも1本で行けて大変便利です。ホテルの場所もわかりやすく- （Anniesland下車後、左手のweatherspoonというお店のすぐ裏側！）スタッフの方も感- じ良く、部屋もキレイでベッドも快適、シャワー圧、温度共に完璧でした。またグラスゴー訪問の際はリピート- したいです！

I booked because it was priced right, but should have spent a little more to be comfortable.

It was by far the worst place I stayed during my travels. The first thing that really set me off was at check in the guy said they don't take credit cards, I had to pay in cash. I asked about a booking a ride to the airport in the morning and he pointed to the info sheet on the wall with the company they recommend. Oh, and they only take cash too! There was more to that story, but won't go into it. Let's just say, I booked a cab online and was real glad I did. Although the hostel is closed during the day for cleaning, when I checked into my room at 4:30pm, there were bags of trash that hadn't been removed and the bed that had been occupied still had the dirty linens on it. The bathroom had updated fixtures, but it needed cleaning too. I went to the lounge area to wait for the cab in the morning and although there are signs saying no food or drink in that room, there were empty bottles and snacks left on every table. Location was bad too.

cheap. great when you travel on low budget. rooms were ok and had lockers.

I liked the en suite bathroom and the power shower was great. I liked the free parking. The staff member called Johnny was great and very friendly.

I did not like the lock set up as you came into the back annnex where the room was; I did not like it that the females room door did not lock.There were cupboards with padlocks snibs but I could not access the last one remaining as it was blocked by the beds. I did not like it when a member of staff blocked the car park exit with his car.

O hotel é agradável no que se refere à comodidade.

O hotel está situado em local muito distante do centro de Glasgow. Embora esteja próximo da estação de trem, fica distante da cidade. A recepção do Hotel atende em horários pré-estabelecidos dificultando o check in e check out dos clientes. Tivemos que deixar um deposito de 10 libras para a chave de entrada do hotel e como tivemos que sair do hotel antes das 8 da manhã, não pudemos fazer o check out devidamente e não fomos ressarcidos do deposito, embora tenhamos deixado as chaves com um dos hóspedes. Pessimo atendimento nesse sentido.

Zimmer und sanitäre Einrichtungen sind gepflegt und sauber.

Das Frühstück welches man dazubuchen kann ist auf keinen Fall empfehlenswert, da es lediglich aus etwas Toast, Marmelade und Erdnussbutter besteht! Die Hostelmitarbeiter konnten zum Teil wirklich schlecht englisch...

Cheap, close to the train station, car parking

I actually booked a room all to myself and had a confirmation email from the hostel saying it had been booked. However when I arrived I was told that they were full and so I had to share a room in a 6 bed dormitory. This was clearly untrue however because two of the beds in the dorm were empty all night. If I book a whole room because I want some privacy then I expect that booking to be honoured, not to turn up and be told that they've cancelled it and only have a shared room available!!! NOT HAPPY!!!

good ubication (train and bus to the center at 1 minute, banks, cooperative food, restaurants) good instalations, new, clean bathroom to share (8beds) into the room. New and Clean

I think they have a good instalations but unfortunately the staff is not enough profesional. I spoke directly to the manager about I had felt and he appologized for it. I hope they improve because it would be a pity. The ubication is good, the rooms and bathrooms also but... I think they need more staff in recepcion to cover more time (only opened from 8 am to 11 pm), in the kitchen happens the same, from 8 am to 10 pm (before and afterwards the door is closed). The ambience is a little poor, no very warm, friendly... and they have to improve the deal with the customer. Sorry, I can recommend this hostel only for people very little demanding.

Bathroom was clean, kitchen facilities were good

Unhelpful and rude staff who made an error with my booking details when I tried to change the dates of my arrival, then forced me to pay the 15% deposit twice, even though I had emailed and called them multiple times and had been assured I wouldn't have to pay. They tried to make me pay for an extra night too, even though I had already changed the booking dates and it was not included it in my stay. The owner actually sent me to my room because he didn't want to talk about their mistake, which I thought was very unprofessional. The place itself and the facilities were not bad, but my friend and I decided to move elsewhere after 3 nights because we were too upset by our treatment by the owner, who came across as very greedy. If you're going to come all the way to Scotland, I would recommend you stay somewhere that's run by some local scottish folk. They are much more reasonable and go that extra distance to make you feel at home.
