Score from 5 reviews Exceptional
Friendly staff. Good location. Parking permits available for £1 at reception, if you are able to find a space in a nearby street! Breakfasts lovely - full English or cereal, as much as you like. Carvery looked ok, although we didn't try it.
No disabled access!! Entrance into hotel is up 6 steps - so no good at all for anyone with mobility problems. Lift holds 4 people or 2 people with luggage, so long waits at busy times (such as a coach party arriving!). (There are stannah lifts on stairs though) Many minor maintenance issues! When we arrived on a Friday, we found out the restaurant and the bar were both closed all evening (?), with no explanation. We were told we could use the facilities at their 2 sister hotels "nearby" (a few hundred yards - great if you are fit, but again, not if you have mobility problems.)
Friendly staff. good food. comftable room.good position what more could you ask for
The hotel has a top location with shops resturerants and the coast line.
The hotel is very old and the money we paid is most certainly more for the location.
We were given a huge room with travel cot for our baby, with a view on the bandstand. The staff was very helpful; Will definietely recommend to stay there.
Location - sea view
Poor attitude from reception staff. very grumpy & rude bar man not interested in serving customers just wanting to play on his Iphone Awful breakfast - cooked breakfast hard & dry left far to long under heating lamps
Location and view, but only if you have a room on the front. Clean bedding and bathroom.
Really shabby furniture and decor throughout. Parking very difficult. Food average - 'continental breakfast' was a lump of Red Leicester or Stilton cheese. No hot water for shower in the mornings. This hotel could be really good if the Sheik spent some of his money on it. Small inexpensive changes and better routine maintenance would make a difference. Dusty plastic flowers everywhere is not a good look!
the buffet breakfast and location
the room was small
Location Breakfast was fine
Rooms a bit tired. No hot water for shower late afternoon. Window in bedroom was broken and unable to close. Staff were aware but were unable to help until the engineer could fix it.
It was august and central heating on full Wallpaper peeling from walls Bad damp and water damaged patches in the room
The staff were attentive and polite. Thought the hotel was clean and well looked after . My parents had a lovely big room overlooking the sea , it made their holiday .
The shower wasnt up to much . There were times when the plumbing on the 2nd floor made a constant banging ,but it seemed to be dealt with quite quickly .
Everything else was fine.
The phone being out order all week.It was needed as my wife fell over, and I was unable to pick her up.The phone was dead in the hour of need.
Location is excellent but parking can be tedious as spaces in the side roads get very busy.
Shower was cold at 8am. Bedrooms and public areas need major overhaul as they are in poor state of decoration.
the flooring squeaks quite a lot when walking
Nobody told us that the bar was closed all day and the restaurent was also shut on the night
At breakfast half the staff didn't speak good English. I was rushed. had to ask for tea and and felt badly catered for.
Spacious Nice view Good hearty breakfast
Window in room didn't stay open
The staff were extremely helpful at all times. The location was perfect for me
Problems with on going maintenance on one day.
loved the location , the receptionist was very helpful on check in and check out was very nice and polite.
the walls had to much marks where they removed things of the wall, wires running everywhere around the tv, room was so dusty and full of spider wipe hanging of the ceiling , we ask the receptionist where we can have a cup tea around 6:30 she directed us to the bar where is the bar man was busy rapping a gift we ask for cup tea he said he don't serve tea after 5pm we ok no problem then he is gone shouting to the receptionist in front of us the he come to me sorry she is new here. then the girl start crying. we felt so sorry for her as she is very good at her job and a lazy barman insult her in front of the customer.
Hot Bath Water Help yourself breakfast Location was excellent Fridge in room £54 per night was good
The lift needed servicing.
we liked the location the food and the staff were very good
the lift was awful very small and rocky the room we had needed a good refit paintwork was chipped and paper coming of the ceiling one morning two pigeons joind us in the bedroom the bathroom was so small it was like a cupboard the shower needed regouted we were offord another room but as we were with my 94 year old sister in law we wanted to be near her
The hotel was by the promenade and within walking distance of the town and the station. Breakfast was plentiful and well presented.
The décor was a bit tired and the layout of the dining room is that you all sit in a long row it would be nice to have a bit more space to move your chair about when getting up to get your food.
No internet, beds awful, pillows awful, noisy room with staff smoking outside the window, the shower was so small I could not get in it. Compared to other hotels for this price, eg Premier, it was not value for money.
My single room on the 4th floor was well appointed and comfortable and very clean. Nice bathroom.
The taps were very old fashioned and needed a lot of twisting and turning to get at the water.
outside needs painting
