Food was lovely Hotel was lovely and big Room was nice and clean No bar open as were told not enough residents to warrent opening it - were told we could go to the one on the corner - not so easy as my husband is disabled! No evening meal - same reason as above. First receptionist we saw on arrival on 31st oct very unhelpful and difficult to understand- said if we didnt like it we c ould complain!! Having booked on line looking at all the facilities we were upset on arrival to not have them available.

i liked the location of the hotel as it was on the seafront and pier and near to town centre ,restaurant staff very helpful, breakfast very good. the welcome from reception very indifferent need training.i resented having to pay for my stay before i was given room key, etc.yhe room was pokey not as shown on booking photos, poor decoraton, gaps in room door a cild must have fitted it,cobwebs hanging in room pigeons landing on balcony not good as we had to sleep with windows open outside temp 32deg.tv very poor.fan not working in bathroom, spotlight over sink out, wardrobe space poor doors did not close and had no catches,I think the owner would do better to spend his money on the hotel instead of toys for himself and son, type R jag,for spinning starts, gold decalled range rover, quite gawdy,he needs ALEX again.

The staff. The receptionist who greeted us was exceptionally helpful. We had wanted to move hotels as we were in a noisy hotel and she was instantly helpful and assisted us and made us feel very welcome, accommodating all of our requests. The room itself was older in decor but I loved this. The room was spacious and the bedding was lovely and clean and teh bed was comfy. The bathroom was lovely and spacious. We had a lovely side view of the sea too. The hotel had a really lovely feel to it and I just wished we could have stayed longer. Lovely. Shower was a bit dysfunctional and sprayed in several directions. Tv didnt' get a lot of channels.

The location was excellent. Lovely views of the Channel, Bandstand and Pier I think the hotel is overpriced for the standard of accommodation. However, it is clean and comfortable.

It was a nice, well priced hotel, it was better than I expected for the price I paid. Some areas looked a little tired, flakey paint and odd repairs that were unfinished.

Breakfast qiute good selection on buffet Room unsatisfactory, furniture old and shabby, pigeon droppings on inside window ledge, outside doorhandle came off reported on first day still not fixed when leaving on fourth day, lighting dim, and bedside lamp faulty. Booked seaview room told not available on day before arrival due to maintainance problems, offered change of hotel to the mansions, not possible as meeting other family members.

Position Wouldnt serve drinks to residents after 11 pm as a rule - rediculous. Then to add insult to injury owner sat with friends drinking scotch at mid night. A hotel is for having fun this place is a bore and has forgot who the customer is.

It is a well appointed hotel in a prime position both for relaxing and shopping. The single bedroom I occupied had a sea view and was well equiped, although there could have been more coathangers in the wardrobe! The en-suite was very spacious and clean. The seating arrangements in the lounge (and sun-lounge) were very comfortable. If I return to Eastbourne I would definitely stay there again. Cannot comment on the food as we only stayed b & B. Unfortunately the staff were not exactly friendly. The Receptionist upon our arrival was not very helpful and it seemed very difficult for her to smile. Most of them didn't speak very good English so perhaps they find it difficult to communicate and therefore appear unhelpful. Maybe they should have more training before they are expected to deal with the guests.

It's on a Seafront location, the main areas are light and airy. Reception was welcoming, and the staff friendly. Breakfast was good, lots of choice as was dinner. On road parking, but I understand why. It was abit dated and could do with a repaint. The lift was sometimes out of service, was ok for us as we could do the stairs to the thrid floor. But some older people might have trouble.

Door lock wasnt working at all. 10 minutes per time to open up the door. Average hotel with poor service and night shift who prefer to sleep rather then opening up the main entrance. Place for old people who go to slerp at 9pm

Very clean in all area's, breakfast self sevice very good choice. Lift far to small for the amount of rooms and people, quite a long wait if you are on 3rd or 4th floors. Toaster next to the hot food at breakfast so a queue for both, perhaps a different area would be better.

Location was great, sea view room was very pleasant and great breakfast. The staff struggled with English, they sold me a parking ticket for the sea front - but it was not valid on the sea front, only the side roads, lucky I saw the traffic warden and spoke to them otherwise I would have been £70 worse off!

We went to have a quiet weekend on the South Coast. Unfortuneately there was a large party (about 70) of line dancers who partied and made a lot of noise well into the early hours. As a result, we only had one decent nights sleep out of three. We were unlucky, but the lesson is that you need to check and avoid this hotel if they have a large party of people staying. This hotel can be very noisy!

good food. friendly dining room staff.bedroom cosy and double although I was alone When I arrived I was told I was not booked in although I had a printout of my booking. It took nearly half an hour to sort this out although I should think five minutes on the computor to find an empty room would have sufficed. The shower pipe in my room was not long enough to fix over the bath so it was solely a hand held shower.
