The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The seaview room was well described. We were very surprised to find the hotel so empty. It would have been preferable to have been informed prior to our stay of the situation and been rebooked into The Chatsworth, as we were for our second night's dinner, for the duration of our stay at the original booking price. It wasn't our fault that we were the only residents in a large hotel for the second night of our stay and this situation made the hotel lack atmosphere. The staff were all very helpful and did all they could to make up for this strange situation.

I liked the location. The sea view rooms were excellent. The breakfast was very good. The staff were friendly. It was a very quiet Hotel with nothing going on. Perfect for my elderly relatives. As we had trouble booking a bed for our 12 year old and we had to contact the Hotel they very kindly let her stay for free in one of our rooms. On the whole there were 8 people in our group and we all said we would go back again. The rooms were very clean. We booked a carvery in the Hotel. We were very disappointed. Very little choice. Only pork and a turkey escalope which tasted like it came from the supermarket. It was horrible. They had only 2 choices of vegetable, brocoli (which were mushy) and carrots. There was fish also. No salad available. This dinner let the Hotel down. So definitely wouldn't book a meal at the Hotel. Also another disappointment was even though entertainment was advertised on some days, (Hotel should stipulate which days) we went on a Saturday night in August and there wasn't any.

Breakfast excellent! Hotel overall getting shabby and tired. Could possibly benefit from a refit. My hotel room certainly needed a lick of paint at least. Shower difficult to use over a bath for an older gentleman. Water only tepid. Electrical socket not secure with thick cable running round room. Unable to open drawer as the knob was missing. Evening meals lacked imagination.

Excellent location, easy to find. Friendly, helpful staff. Website indicated parking was available but it's just on the road outside. It took 2 hours to park. We realise this was because of the Airbourne Show but we were not warned of this when we booked. We were kept awake by pigeons on the window sill. The room was small, tired and scruffy.

My single room with a sea view was nice, I enjoyed the Jacuzzi bath and made good use of the fridge provided the the room. Breakfast was good. Unfortunately my front door handle came off and it took 2-3min to open the (faulty) door with a slide card system. The windows were very stiff to close, just needed some DW40, and I had damp from the ceiling in bathroom, which needed repair. A general repair all round I think is lacking, apart from that I enjoyed my stay.

Excellent seafront location overlooking prom, within easy walking distance of Pier, gardens, shops, and bus routes to Beachy Head and South Downs. Specifically booked a seaview room, and was definitely not disappointed - very comfortable first floor room with large windows looking right onto beach. Fridge in room was an added bonus. Although the hotel is busy with coach parties, the restaurant staff still provided excellent service to a solo traveller, and ensured I was allocated the same table for breakfast for the duration of my stay.
