Set in beautiful grounds and surrounded by an original moat, the Albright Hussey Manor Hotel features an award-winning restaurant. The 16th-century building is bursting with original charm and period features. The individual rooms each have unique character and antique furniture, many with four-poster beds. Rooms are traditionally decorated with classical art and ornamental lamps, and offer tea and coffee facilities, a private bathroom and free Molton Brown toiletries. Dating back to Tudor times, the Moat Room Restaurant features oak panels, grand fireplaces and moulded beams. A modern, international menu is served, with an extensive wine list available. There is also a dining terrace, offering views towards the Welsh Hills. Situated on the outskirts of historic Shrewsbury, the center of town and Shrewsbury Train station are just 10 minutes away. Arscott Golf Club is a 20-minute drive, and the Welsh Border is just 30 minutes away. Free private parking is available on site. Hotel Rooms: 26

I have stayed at the Hotel before, and would recommend it -popular as a wedding venue, and a good place to stay if you want to visit Shrewsbury, just a good distance from the town.Would go again.

Location and overall comfort of the hotel was good. Staff were very helpful and the food was good (but not exceptional) . Bed was very comfortable. Our bedroom needed decorating. The wine list was supposed to be extensive but lacked choice especially in relation to red Bordeaux and red burgundy - this was disappointing as my wife & I enjoy really good wines (especially French) and Tanners supply the wines so there was plenty of choice regarding a selection for the wine list - mark ups were quite high as well.

Very friendly and helpful staff, always very keen to make sure that all your needs were met and did so in a charming and efficient manner. The gourmet menu was delicious but more choice would have been welcomed. No complaints

The old charm of the building and the sympathetic construction of the room to provide a contemporary standard of service with a special feel of being in an historic environment in the countryside The double sided give way signs on the access road were a little confusing and there were no identifiable passing places.

This hotel was reccomended to us by friends who had eaten there but not stayed. The hotel has a lot of old world charm and character but at the same time quite modern. It had no leisure or spa facilities (not a problem for my wife or I) but what it lacked in facilities was amply compensated by the service and fine food. Most of all, and the most striking aspect was the friendliness and homliness of the staff who were most welcoming and couldn't do enough for you. Top of the list was the General Manager Malcom who greeted us on arrival and looked after us with great aplomb for the couple of days we stayed. We will definitely go back! Cheers Malcom you made it a top break!

The location is very nice the views were beautiful, we stayed the one night after a friends wedding. We found the location quite tranquil and relaxing. I would definitely recommend the hotel to other friends and family. I think a good time was had by al. The food at the reception was very nice and the breakfast the next morning also. If you want a nice comfortable relaxing stay this is the place for you Thankyou The only thing that was a little disappointing was whilst taking drinks in the garden area, a few people remarked there were aged bird droppings on the seating which made it quite difficult for people to sit back on the chairs in case they stained their clothes. I also think because it was a wedding a very special occasion the staff could have been a little more upbeat on the day.

A fantastic venue for a wedding. Staff very helpful. Very relaxing. We didnt get time to look around, but would have loved to stay for a few more days and explore Shrewsbury. Would love to go back again for another stay at The Albright Hussey Manor, a delightful characteristic Hotel.

The best thing about this hotel was the staff and the thought put into making guests comfortable. This made for a lovely relaxing stay. The bathroom was in need of a spruce up but everything worked.

staff were very kind and attentive. Breakfast was nice and setting was lovely. tiny spare camp bed squeezed into the room for my son and then charged 25 extra for the privilege. Rooms were in need of complete refurbishment. small and shabby round the edges. Overall the price of 145 for the room was excessive.Dinner was ok but certainly not as impressive as we'd been led to believe.

Beautiful setting. Staff service at breakfast excellent . Treated as second class citizens when wedding party arrived. Given wrong info on parking in town which led to a overight lock in. Which cost us thirty pounds to get the car back the next day.

It was convenient for us. As read on the reviews the staff are excellent but the accommodation in the new block is not of a high standard. The walls are very thin between rooms and the decor is tired.
