Fabulous,

“ This was a wonderful, small Tudor hotel in the countryside. The staff were friendly, the rooms clean and the food in the restaurant was first class. ”
Kate,
London
Set in beautiful gardens and surrounded by an original moat, the Albright Hussey Manor Hotel features an award-winning restaurant. The 16th-century building is bursting with original charm and period features. The individual rooms each have unique character and antique furniture, many with four-poster beds. Rooms are traditionally decorated with classical art and ornamental lamps, and offer tea and coffee facilities, an en suite bathroom and free Molton Brown toiletries. Dating back to Tudor times, the Moat Room Restaurant features oak panels, grand fireplaces and moulded beams. A modern, international menu is served, with an extensive wine list available. There is also a dining terrace, offering views towards the Welsh Hills. Situated on the outskirts of historical Shrewsbury, the town centre and Shrewsbury Railway Station are just 10 minutes away. Arscott Golf Club is a 20-minute drive, and the Welsh Border is just 30 minutes away. Free private parking is available on site. Great location and excellent bedroom with all facilities in top condition. Free wifi. Friendly and helpful staff, excellent and freshly cooked breakfast. All for the price of a B&B and the quallity of a niche hotel.

The price was excellent for such a quality hotel in a great location. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful and the staff were a credit to the hotel. The WiFi connection was poor.

Breakfast was excellent. Bed was very comfortable. Good lighting Reasonable space. Sufficient parking Blown bulb in bathroom Loose hot tap in bathroom Broken bath panel in bathroom Curtains needed rehanging as at least two hooks not attached. 3-Course meal was poor (for a 4 star establishment). Roast potatoes bland, undercooked beans. Pate had very little taste and the spicy salsa with it was not in the least bit spicy. Thank god the breakfast next day was excellent!

Beautiful buildings and surroundings. Staff who care. Restaurant serving imaginative gourmet food. Quotation in the menu that likened desserts to women. Made me feel like a commodity.Perhaps if the quotation had compared vegetables to men, you might understand how I felt.

What an excellent find. Individual and personal. warm greeting on arrival right through to departure. Personally served a fresh breakfast and an excellent bedroom with all possible facilities. A real treat was sunshine in the morning with black swans waddling over the lawn to the brook. Bliss. Having to leave --- I would have loved the time to spend a weekend there.

110% service from Malcolm and staff.Restaurant ambience, food and attention,at the right level.Everyone was at pains to make us welcome. The Receptionist managed our review of the bedroom pleasantly and gave us a small credit.Overall we were very happy with the Hotel, and will definitely stop over again. As dinner was excellent....the breakfast was just ordinary, and was way below the quality of what we would expect from such a hotel that is passionate about its Chef and his cooking. We also had to point out a need to clean the toilet more thoroughly in our otherwise clean and very comfortable twin bedded ground floor room.

Lovely Hotel just a short drive into Shrewsbury or to the park-and-ride. Staff very friendly and efficient...nothing too much trouble. Location superb but would like to return in warmer months to appreciate the setting.

Purely convenient location for us. Booked an executive room (21) - it wasn'T. Described as having countryside views - it didn'T. Window opened onto courtyard entrance - significant noise from departing/arriving guests. Bathroom in very poor condition - cabinet ready to be thrown away, showerhead rusty. Sheets didn't fit the bed so ended up with bare mattress by morning. Food at breakfast very poor quality, especially the toast, which was clearly from the most 'supermarket value white sliced' which could be found. The waiter also insisted on serving our cooked breakfast before we had finished eating our fruit and yoghurt. The only fruit available was tinned, nothing fresh. Having just previously stayed at a 4 star hotel in Derbyshire, the Hussey was nowhere near the same standard and in our opinion a 4 star rating is very much undeserved. Will definitely not stay there again.

Impressive House and Grounds - ideally suited for wedding receptions, functions etc., but not ideal for weekend breaks. Disappointing lounge and dining room. Mediocre food, Ridiculously large bedroom with enclosed large circular bath curtained off, in the middle of the bedroom . Bizarre! Very expensive! Food ok but expensive.

The hotel is itself a beautiful building, set in spectacular grounds with fabulous views. The room was comfortable, ornate and very atmospheric which greatly added to our enjoyment. Above all however, was the friendliness and character of Malcolm who is both a credit and asset to the company. The only critism we had was that the lobster starter we had at dinner was disappointing being too dry and rather bland !

The food was absolutely superb. The hotel manager was very friendly and entertaining - a great asset to the hotel. The decor and ground of the hotel were brilliant. It was a little bit of luxury amidst a busy lifestyle. Everything was fabulous.

The hotel had character and is on beautiful grounds. For the price, I'd expect more variety in the breakfast buffet. The walls are quite thin. Pricey.

Dital tv does not always ge a signal in the room I was in free broadband did not seem to work in my room. Someone tried to put a meal and drink on my room. Lady on reception removed from bill when I queried it. Bit conserned how someone was able to put items to my room as you normaly have to show key, or regestration card.

Lovely staff and nice setting Wall to wall weddings which impacted on our experience from difficulties getting the car park to the late night antics of wedding guests. We also booked a Kingsized bed but got a double instead with a very small bathroom. I would not have said that this was deluxe but we knew no point in complaining as the hotel was full. A wedding on the day we arrived, a wedding the next day and the following day.
