Great location and clean rooms
I'm used to king size bed so the standard bed was a little too small
The location was lovely and spa facilities nice. Nice size room and excellent food.
Our bathroom was exceeding cold. The only heating was one small heated towel rail. It needs to be double glazed too.
Nice location, good selection for breakfast. Quiet. All staff courteous - when we could find them. Had back massages which were very nice and treatment areas good.
We used the spa facilities which were not very good at all. The sauna and steam rooms looked like they need a good scrub with disinfectant. Pool area wasn't much better. Bar prices in hotel were shocking.
A very comfortable hotel excellent location and the staff are very helpful and courteous. Has everything we enjoy as far as amenities are concerned and ideal for our theatre evening in Shrewsbury.
The double bed was two beds joined together and hard for our tastes.
Was noisy early on the morning as I must of been near the laundering room.
Meal nice and big
Relaxing surroundings & polite helpful staff.
Fairly expensive drinks & food.
Good food, lovely room and nice swimming pool.
nice staff good location
dirty wet room and jacuzzi needs good clean
Helpful and pleasant staff.
Intermittent loo flush (room 11).
the food and gardens
Room was fab staff were great.
Spa It was tired & cold and uncomfortable The food was a huge disappointment especially as the waiting staff were so good. It was very poor value for money for such badly cooked meals.
The location and building was lovely. Staff all very friendly
Firstly on check in we were allocated our room, which was in one of the outbuildings a short walk outside, which we were disappointed, if weather was bad or any one elderly is very inconvenient. The room itself was nice but armchair had stains and tea/coffee facilities are very poor. Not good value for money. The spa area is a good extra but overall it needs maintaing. Looks very scruffy.
An old converted building, giving it character but can involve longer walks and stairs around the building. nice grounds in a country side position. We were comfortably warm in our room on a frosty night. Very good breakfast. Lovely bathroom but poor quality soap.
The long walk, up and down stairs, to our room. Higher lumen light bulbs required to enable easy reading in bed, the best light level presently being in the bath. The soap was hard.
Food and service in restaurant was excellent.
Bedrooms had no drawer space for clothing. Beds not very comfortable and no mattress toppers available. Heating not effective in cold weather. Shower poor and hot water took a long time to get to bathroom.
Expensive drinks and breakfast
The setting and interior of the hotel was stunning. The old part of the hotel (including the Oak room), were a real asset to the hotel. It was great to spend time in the gym and spa prior to leaving.
I think the wifi should be free to use (for hotel users) and the code should be available within the welcome booklet.
Bad mobile reception
Very friendly and helpful staff . Good food in bar. Room was clean, spacious and well equipped.
Location Food Room
Staff were exceptional and made our stay very pleasurable . The hotel was outstanding
I couldn't stay for longer
absolutely everything !
Mix of old and new buildings give it character Good food in the restaurant
No lifts in some parts Wi Fi not good everywhere
Staff very helpful and friendly. Very nice country house hotel in a good location. Good leisure club facilities including a sauna & steam room. Would certainly go back.
The location was nice.
The Spa treatments expensive , music loud and not relaxing more dance music ? The steam room needs cleaning . The bar attendant was disgusting he " poured whisky back in the bottle in front of me"as i had not signed up my credit card on arrival and said he could not put drinks on my room. Everything far too expensive especially to eat and offered £20 for 2 courses but 30 of us went to local pub great value for money . Steak night £10 plus free bottle of wine
