staff very friendly good deal for double room very clean lovely location
I was in room 8 and the mattress need to be replace
The cleanliness and spaciousness of the room, combined with good food and friendly, accommodating staff made for a pleasant and memorable stay.
Can't identify anything we didn't enjoy or were dissatisfied with !
Bed was passed its best. Pillows definitely needed replacing.. Cracked tiles on bathroom floor - not good for cleaniess.
Room service was quick (although they said would be 30 minutes) ..but £5 tray charge. Spa open till 9.30
Was originally put into the Schoolmasters House in the grounds, but as a woman travelling alone I asked to be moved to the main house. "Free" Wifi was very poor speed.. No comments cards in the room. I dislike the Mercure "preauthorisation" of your credit card for your dinner.
room not at all satisfactory carpet heavily stained window glazing steamed up impossible to see view and generally poor accommodation food was no better at breakfast the bread was stale and green mouldy of which a reported I would not recommend this hotel
A tastefully modernised country hotel, with attentive staff and excellent kitchen - wonderful breakfast and delicious evening mel. Spacious and very comfortable 'Stables Wing' room - particularly quiet with no sounds from other rooms/corridors.
Nothing not to like, but I would have been happier if the wifi was faster.
The style, service and space were all good quality and the comfortable rooms made staying a pleasure.
Very negative attitude of spa staff. No warmth and very unlike the hotel vibe.
Staff were helpful and friendly and the accommodation was spacious and comfortable. Our party of eleven adults enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant and felt it was good value for money. Altogether an enjoyable experience
Poor wifi reception. We had to go outside to get any kind of reception.
bed really comfortable, breakfast fantastic! location great. gardens lovely.
staff could have been a little more friendly and helpful.
The spa was ok seen better , requires a face liift . The grounds were nice . The staff was ok and the breakfast was good to start your day . I had a back treatment which was excellent. The house team was excellent when I had to change rooms due to reception staff getting it wrong . The breakfast team was nice and polite and warm and welcoming.
The spa washing facilities was not cleaned out on regular basics. They charge the hotel guests more for coffee in the spa area than the members. I feel this facility should be free . I emailed ahead as my party contains a birthday guest . Nothing acknowledged. However, other hotels which I have stayed in on previous birthday occasion give acknowledgment. Changed rooms due to poor light ,and requestrd a twin room when booking, as they gave a double. we traveled far to get there and found the reception staff very average. I have stopped in various hotel throughout the Midlands booking through your webpage, find this not the best reception staff. However, the rest of the staff in the hotel I give top marks .
Poor heating in room Queues for dinner Unapologetic attitude Expensive for what it was. Premier Inn standard at a high price
Great location for a break. Stayed for 1 night. Facilities were superb, staff attentive, meal very tasty, room comfortable and grounds well maintained (and well established). One of the best.
Nothing to report.
Gym and food
Very slow wifi connection
Grounds swimming pool
Waiting staff slow - number of errors. Wi-fi poor signal stength
The staff were lovely , polite and very helpful especially as we asked to change our room. Breakfast was excellent with a choice off the menu and hot and cold buffet. Would go again when we next visit Shrewsbury .
If I had to pick on something , the bar area is quite small for eating in .
Great bed, very comfortable
Food - Stale bread on sandwiches when recieved room service Heavy dust on the net curtains when opened, need a good clean or replacing Tired rooms / bathrooms
Location & grounds
Not smoker friendly
We felt welcomed, comfortable and relaxed. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
External access to the bedrooms via the lift from the main building in inclement weather to avoid stairs due to a walking problem
The hotel is beautiful, the grounds are lovely, the evening menu is great and the food superb. The buffet breakfast was plenty and the staff were very attentive.
The fact that as there was a wedding on, had to go outside in the torrential rain to get to restaurant, not pleasant
I loved the peace of the resort
No top sheet on the beds
comfy bed shower quite good parking good gym
dining room assumption having set menu average beetroot starter noise from bar no air con - windows open - hence noise flies in the swimming pool & around jacuzzi
Excellent breakfast. Quality, range and service was first class.
Two single beds pushed together does not constitute a double bed. There was a gap in the middle. Avoid room 80 for that reason.
large spacious room excellent housekeeping standards
you park and walk to reception to check in to be told you have to go back out the door and walk to another building where your room is situated. No offer of assistance with luggage. TV too small for large room, room 89 would fit a king size bed for greater comfort
Hotel had great character and felt very relaxed. The pool and gym facilities were excellent. All the staff were friendly and always willing to help. The breakfast was good, enough choice for everyone and prompt service. Close enough to Shrewsbury to use your car or get a taxi, only a 5 minute drive away.
My room was a little small but sufficient. The bed was too soft and too warm on one evening, it was difficult to balance to temperature without using the fan supplied. Would have been better with a Summer duvet or just a top sheet.
