Surroundings room was excellent
Price of drinks !
This is a lovely hotel with friendly, welcoming and conscientious staff. We were accommodated with late check in and check out. All enquired where delt with immediatly. We were in the stable wing and the room was exceptional. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom was large. As a whole the rooms cleanliness was outstanding. Breakfast was self service with a wide variet (cooked and cereal/ toast and pastries). The food was delusious and I was well accommodated when I ordered a packed lunch.
Spa facilities were good, enjoyable and relaxing. Good facilities in the bedroom, including decent hairdryer Breakfast - poached eggs cooked to perfection, I had veggy sausages which were leek & potato, really tasty! The buffet hot food was still hot, despite it being nearly 9am. Had to resist the scrummy looking pastries as I'm watching my weight but they looked amazing!
Bed was a little hard
Really good spa/pool. Almost all the staff were really helpful, especially reception staff. Very good food 90% of the time. Good location for touring and nice grounds. Have stayed on 3 occasions and would stay again.
Very uncomfortable pillows. Unheated bathroom. One meal was quite poor and barely warm.
It was all pretty good but...
The shower was broken and the towels were old and frayed. This was disappointing!
the room too small.
Lits of places to visit nearby great base for holiday.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Breakfast milk jugs hadn't been washed properly!
We chose this hotel because we needed somewhere with Wi-Fi to keep in touch with business. This is one of the few hotels in this area offering this facility free of charge. Added bonus was the staff who are excellent. We stayed two nights and the dinner was very good both nights
Why are hotels so mean with the complimentary tea and coffee? Always rationed to one cup each and the tray was not replenished each day. The cooked breakfast was cold and unappetising.
The room was well equipped and very comfortable
There was dust on our bedside tables
Nice friendly hotel
Outrageous drinks prices and not a great selection
The Location was good and the gardens very pretty
I had requested nice rooms for my 50th Birthday treat. They they hadnt got 2 twin rooms and we ended up on different floors. It took an hour to get our drinks before our evening meal and we had to complain twice. In the morning a waiter made reference to the fact we had complained and was rude to us throughout breakfast.
Me and my partner booked last minute to stay here and paid £99 bed & breakfast. The room was very clean and comfortable! We were really impressed by the hotel reception staff, very friendly a and helpful. We decided to eat at the hotels restaurant on the evening and it was excellent! The food was beautiful - highly recommend the pork! Used the spa facilities which were lovely - especially the jacuzzi! The steam rooms didn't seem to be working properly though! Wide choice of breakfast, i loved the fresh bread and pastries! Overall a brilliant stay, we would return in the future!
Steam room seemed to not be working properly.
The service (at breakfast) was friendly and helpful Location Ambience of the building - not at all like the usual Mercure hotel
Everything! Especially the setting, pool and room size.
This was an exceptional weekend break and one we shall be repeating very shortly. All set in a beautiful part of the country . The hotel is a hidden gem!
The staff were pleasant and very helpful
General atmosphere. Food and service excellent.
Mattress on bed probably needed renewing and view outside room not too great with large empty metal building

I was in room 8 and the mattress need to be replace
The cleanliness and spaciousness of the room, combined with good food and friendly, accommodating staff made for a pleasant and memorable stay.
