As far as I'm concerned Adil (receptionist) is absolutely fantastic! He made our stay so comfortable and relaxing providing whatever he could for us at all hours! Thank you so much!!
didn't get chance to stay long enough to try everything as we ended up at daughters and didn't get back but would go back again.
needed a bit more tea to drink
-Staff were friendly, helpful and apologetic when necessary. -I was unhappy with the first room I was shown, but I was immediately offered an "upgrade". -Room 21, good size double, well appointed, nice TV, comfortable bed. -Plenty of car parking.
-I had booked a double room for single use, but had been allocated a twin. -No hand towels -No mattress protector, sheet on bare mattress. -Poor TV reception -Heating went off at night, cold in early hours. -No hot water to have a shower in the morning. -Walls paper thin, you can hear tv's, alarms and snoring in neighbouring rooms! -Vacuum cleaner could have done with an outing.
courteous and helpful staff, warm and clean excellent value for money. Excellent steak, well presented and cooked.
although the mattress was clean I would have felt more comfotable if there had been mattress protective covers on from a hygine point. Mattress could have been a better quality, but not too bad.
When we left the next morning.
We were looking for a one night on out way back from holiday. We stayed there 2 years ago and weren't impressed then but we needed a night and that was the only place available. The temp outside was below freezing there was no heat on in the room despite having a electric wall heater the room also seemed damp. The toilet pot hadn't been cleaned as there was brown stains down the side and the flush lank was just about hanging on the TV screen and surround was full of finger Staines looked like it had never seen a cloth. Pleased we didn't bother with breakfast might have been ill now. Never again.
friendly staff, clean room helpful front desk plenty parking easy to find
sometimes noisy at night squeeky stairs take nothing to screw down! staff/contractors shouldnt be talking loudly and moving furniture that early (3am) - im sure this is a rare occasion, but still...
there was clean linen& towels,a great breakfast, friendly and efficient staff great value, unlimited hot water price, plenty of parking, bistro if required for evening meal
Staff very helpful. Food was of good standard and value for money. Bed and room comfortable. Location central and peaceful.
television reception poor at times-could have been due to location of bedroom. However there was also a television in the lounge downstairs.
It's location in relation to my business meeting
Cold room, poor heating and a bit dated.
The cottage is like a home away from home excellent very well equipped and comfy
We found a mouldy kebab in the microwave , a used sanitary towel in the cupboard and they have a problem with the drainage aswe could smell sewage coming from the sinks
Breakfast was good although tables were a bit dirty.
Paid for two rooms, one double and paid extra for twin room for children, when we arrived we was told No Twin room was available or any single rooms as the place was full. No refund given, we were offered free drink or breakfast for two, we accepted the breakfast as we had more or less paid for it. Bedroom was freezing asked for heating to be put on said they would but didn't, found two blankets in wardrobe but still spent the night in bed freezing, found out next morning our children next door to us didn't even have any blankets and excuse was boiler was down.
Friendly and helpful staff
Run down nature
Bathroom shower unit and sink worn
No hot water No heating Uncooked food Terrible Checkout Total chaos
Room was smelly, unclean, bed sheets were dirty, toilet was terribly small, very appauling housekeeping
Staff, they helped as much as they could.
There was no heating. We were promised a portable heater which never materialized. The water was only just tepid. the room was not made up the second day. The response from the staff was that the owner didn't care.
friendly, helpful staff
you get what you pay for, clean enough but in desperate need of an update
they lock the front door and when we arrived back at about midnight, they couldn't find the key so they had to take us round the back to get in!! Also, booking.com tells you that the rooms have a patio which is why i booked it and believe me, none of the rooms have a patio!!!!!!!!
Very friendly staff very helpfull Its not a holliday inn buts its good value for money and good food !!
value for money and had rooms available for emergency
dated, thin walls
The staff were very nice
The bed were very uncomfortable the rooms very small for 2 people
bed was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good. even though this was £7.00 extra!
extractor fan in bathroom went on to long after switching off. room was near kitchen. very loud extractor fan running after 9.30pm. greasy oil smells coming through bedroom window. no dressing table, no wardrobe. dirty cups/glasses outside another room on arrival, still there the day we left! extra pillows requested. none provided even though a key was left at reception as requested so the pillows could be put into room. only one bath towel for two people! were provided. no coffee only enough tea for one cup each. the bin in the room had not been emptied and was almost full. no wi fi mentioned.
The staff were very accommodating, friendly and up beat. Breakfast was sufficient and hot. Coffee and tea making facilities provided. Breakfast room clean and pleasant.
Grubby and dated rooms (Rm 8 and 19) Furniture in poor state. Bathroom grubby and in poor repair - no means of removing plug from sink once inserted into plug hole??? Shower cubicle wasn't inviting. Noisy dogs at nearby houses. Dreadful guest in Rm 9 drunk and abusive.
I had stayed there before as its literally round the corner from my friends... the wi fi was so much better then when i stayed in May of this year 2014... it was pretty non existant... i can see what they are trying to do with the rooms and if the decor was updated and small alterations done... lick of paint it would make a complete difference.. I have to say that the welcome i had from the moment i stepped in to check in was fantastic and throughout my stay even if for one night... i cant fault the staff at all very courteous and willing to chat to guests who were travelling alone... i will stay again.. this hotel is old and i can see in the building that it holds a lot of history, which i love but it needs to be shown more... the grounds are amazing.. needs to be used more...
I paid £45 which is reasonably cheap but in may i was charged £37 and in that i got breakfast which i paid for seperate but total bill was £37 so was disapointed staying once again on a Saturday night it had gone up and no changes had been made to the room i was staying which was the room i stayed the first time i stayed... the room was nice bathroom very reasonable and i can see what they are doing but the decor really needs looking at..
