No water for tea. Breakfast finishes too early. Windows constantly rattle in wind. Bathroom bit grubby - particularly shower)
Alexander's was a very warm, clean and comfortable place to stay. with a very warm welcome and very helpful staff. Very central to all we needed (old shops and new, and trains and buses).
Good location, clean and tidy with optional breakfast which I don't take.
Unfortunately my room overlooked a street that had a taxi cab business. At 3:00 in the morning this was very busy, presumably from clubs closing, I was kept awake for an hour with people waiting for cabs and making all levels of noise while they were there.
Location Free parking Good breakfast Cleanliness Friendly0
A couple of hooks inside bathroom door and on back of door to room wouldn't go amiss!
The welcome and flexibility . No frills easy going relaxed
2 couples stayed at Alexander's for 1night on a theatre trip The place was very clean the bed was very comfy and the breakfast was very good There was only 1 member of staff doing everything (except cooking breakfast) and we understand she is leaving soon We were right on the sea front so lovely views
Our room was very small and although it was perfectly adequate for what we wanted probably too small for a long stay The breakfast was almost cold which was a shame
Great location small but comfortable room, fine for 2 nights.
Was all good!
The first floor balcony was a nice surprise, room small but clean and comfortable
No heating in November, and an over eager cleaners 'wake up call' at 8.30am was not enjoyed so much. Other minor issues being only two channels worked on the TV and single glazing on a main road did not make for the most peaceful of stays.
clean, quiet, plenty of hot water.
Bed a bit hard
As my wife had injured her foot we were given a upgraded room at no extra cost this was done entirely at the owners suggestion, nothing was too much trouble and our stay was a real joy, the room was immaculate as were the facilities, would definitely recommend it and would stay there again.
There was absolutely nothing to dislike
Friendly staff, very good location.
Nice small friendly hotel on the seafront. Very homely and comfortable. Recommend!!
It was a excellent and we had great stay. I would go back again and again. Thanks Edwin
Didn,t find any we didn,t like.
Clean, nice sea view though room is quite small,
Friendly and accommodating hostess. Proximity to the beach.
Difficulty with parking
We liked the great view over the promenade and sea from the bedroom window. The rooms were clean and well appointed. Everyone made us feel welcome, and we were close to everything. Some great restaurants are very close by. We would stay there again with no hesitation
There was nothing to dislike really. There is no air conditioning and the weather was very warm. Owing to the noise of traffic we had to keep the windows closed at night, but there was a fan provided in the room which we made good use of.
Nicely decorated comfortable room with great sea view. It was smaller than expected but we didn't mind. Owners were friendly and accommodating. Good location for exploring the seafront and town. Handy that we had free parking overnight.
We had a lot of stairs to climb - fine for us but worth asking for a room lower down if stairs are a problem.
Staff were superb location only downside was a bit noisey at the back of hotel but not overly everything else cant be faulted
Little noisey at back of hotel at night
Clean and a nice welcome and comfortable
I love Amber the dog :)
Excellent value for money hotel run by friendly and efficient couple.
Very comfortable stay. Helpful and friendly staff who helped with advice about nearby restaurants and places to visit, as well as how to get there. Breakfasts very adequate to set us up for a day sightseeing. Really enjoyed our 3 night break and fully recommend it.
The room was a good size and the staff were lovely. They even offered to carry our bags up the stairs. You really felt appreciated and looked after. The bed was very comfortable and we slept quite soundly, also the bathroom was very clean. I truly enjoyed it and when I am in Hastings again I will certainly re book.
I would have liked a table and chairs in our room instead of the 1 leather chair because when we bought things back to the hotel to eat we had to sit on the bed which isn't really where I want to make crumbs.
nice ,clean and quiet had a sea view from our room. just across the road from the promenade and the beach nice breakfast to set you up for the day
