I'd overlooked this establishment on previous occasions. Wish I hadn't. Great value for money. Little to look at from outside, great on the inside. And breakfast was fabulous.
close to centre ,station close for secc
no curtain in bathroom
Lighting in room very poor two of the bulbs out .
We were told we couldn't use the residents bar because staff were using it. I had to clarify this. Paying guests couldn't use the bar because staff were having a party. Will never be back!
Situated in a great location within walking distance of the trains and city centre. Good room size excellent breakfast and staff are very friendly. Brilliant value for money!!
Breakfast, tea/coffee in room, location and friendly staff.
Extremely close to the station Excellent breakfast Friendly and helpful staff Perfect for one night for a single person. No frills.
The room was poor - desperately needed decorating. It was fair at best
Easy to check in, no fuss and very efficient. Room was bigger and better than I'd expected and was also clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast. All in all a good stay and would definitely stay again.
We booked it several weeks in advance and got a real bargain. Hotel is very handy for the city centre without being too noisy. Breakfast was excellent and free Wi Fi a real bonus .
Not much to to find fault with , although the old wooden window frame rattled a fair bit in the stong winds.
Breakfast selection 2 free bottles of water in room Location
Street noise - room faced Argyle street. No tray for soaps in shower Building a little too warm for my liking
The room was very comfortably laid out and staff at breakfast were very friendly
The room was connected by a door to the next hotel room. Shower gel provision would have been nice.
Guy on reception was so lovely and very helpful and cheery. My breakfast as usual was very nice and the addition of a Christmas Tree in the main Reception was very welcoming.
Room again I found to be very cold, as window frame was falling apart, TV reception pixely .
breakfast was great. close to city center and train station, clean, comfortable, friendly staff
some furniture is a bit worn out but it doesn't really matter
Excellent location - staff friendly and helpful - very good breakfast
Bed not luxurious but OK!
I thought it would have been a double bed, but was 2 single beds
Breakfast was beyond my expectation
The Lift is very small and slow
Excellent location for centre of Glasgow. Surprisingly quiet for proximity to train station. Good sized room. Excellent choice of breakfast
The only small gripe was the hotel was very busy and we had to wait to be seated at breakfast. Could maybe consider extending the breakfast time period
The location of the hotel is good close to the centre of Glasgow just a few minutes walk to the shops and railway station . The staff are friendly. The bed was comfortable. The place was clean. The hot breakfast was tasty. The price was right.
The room and bathroom needed tlc to brighten them up. Little water flow from the shower. Public areas dark and unwelcoming. The breakfast fruit was out a tin. The lift was slow.
The room was clean tidy and for a one night stay more than adequate . The girl on reception was very helpful with directions to my destination in the morning. Plenty hot water in the shower and the buffet breakfast was very good.
I've stayed at the Alexander Thomson on a few occasions now and in the past it was always a bit kind of faded glory shabby. On this trip there has obviously been work carried out to upgrade the hotel. Very pleasing to see. However there always seems to be a niggly wee thing to let it down slightly. This time it was the bracket that holds the shower head. It had split and would only hold the shower head if the head was pointed to the wall. If put into the normal position to have a shower then it fell out. Result , I had to hold the shower head to shower. A very minor annoyance but a bit of a pain first thing in the morning. Would I stay here again. Certainly, I like the hotel and it's location is perfect for a Glasgow visit.
Excellent location. Good value
Easy to find hotel and close to Central Railway Station made it the perfect location for us. Within walking distance of the shops, tour bus stop was just across the road. Lots of places to eat out. Good value for money and friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent.
Could be noisy at night if your room faces Argyll Street. The bed and pillow was a little hard for my liking. Otherwise no complaints.
Position of hotel in Glasgow Breafast was good Rooms fine Wonderful value for money
I was happy

Excellent place to stay for the night. breakfast was excellent and cleanliness excellent.
