Location, price, bedroom/shower
poor wi fi in room, dated decor etc, breakfsat
had a poor sleep due to the noisy traffic going back and forward even though the window was shut. Staff were not that pleasant, they were not very chatty.
Great breakfast, comfortable bed
Noise from street
out dated rooms staff were unhelpful wifi did not work breakfast was not ate-able poor hygiene throughout the hotel the beds are solid hard
The location of the hotel was excellent and the amentities in the area are good very central
Staff were a bit unfriendly would not let anyone check in before 2 o'clock didn't offer to take our suitcases till we asked if we could leave them. Also on check in could not get a spare key and didn't explain how or where we could get our breakfast.
Convenient for Central station and city centre attractions. Good value.
looked a bit tired from street and in reception area.
The room was very spacious comphy beds and lovely breakfast.
Everything was good for the money we paid for room.
good location city centre, breakfast good lots of choices, good value if you need a bed for the night
room very dated, double bed too small, window in room a accident waiting to happen dosent shut properly a really no no for a young child!!!!!!! needs looking at asap before someone is seriously hurt
The rooms are a bit tired and need some remedial work .Other than that bed was comfortable and bathroom was adequate
It's 100m from the central station.
I loved the high ceilings in my room, the big comfortable bed, the cleanliness, the lighting, the big bathroom, the attractive and character-filled breakfast area, and the friendly staff. The location was also excellent. I would definitely return to the Alexander Thomson.
Only two things were a little off-putting: The entry/reception area is a little dispiriting. The foyer is a bit dowdy looking, and a big soda machine being the first thing one sees on arriving seems tacky. If it were as welcoming and pleasant as the other areas of the hotel, it would make a big difference. The other thing is the eggs and sausage at breakfast were a little cold and rubbery. I think scrambled eggs would be better than the over-cooked eggs floating in water.
Room and en suite a real bonus, especially for the price! Staff were excellent and friendly.
It is a nice place to stay close to the train staion. Breakfast was good.
I could smell bad from towers.
Staff helpful Shower and bathroom lovely
Not much sleep due to noise from road below. Window only single glazed - this needs updating to double glazed!
Great location, lovely building, nice room
Lacked a few basic facilities in the bathroom, no shelf anywhere, no toilet roll holder.
the window of my room is old an d with a single glass
Best location, lots of varieties on breaksfast,comfort....this hotel just met my needs,I surely am coming back.
I think more staff needed in the dining area, especially during those busy mornings...
Nice breakfast and location
Central for going out around glasgow.
Car park being awkward to get to and not as close as we thought it would be.
location near rail station. good breakfast
nothing to complain about
The location is superb close to the station, the staff is helpful, the breakfast was excellent. We liked the room as it was clean, and really comfortable bed
Wi-Fi can be better
location, comfortable mattress
staff not very helpful (parking), room 416: view on backyard filled with garbage, big metal chimney in front of bathroom window, nail in carpet in front of bath room door (risk of injury), no means to hang and dry towels, loose mixer tap, fried eggs on both mornings overcooked, elevator extremly slow, overall quite run down - not pleasant!
A bit tired
The location is very central.
Uncomfortable beds, very small for a double. Breakfast could be warmer.
Good location as attending concert at King Tuts - 5 minute walk
Bathroom could have been cleaner. Street noise late evening/early morning.
