Score from 334 reviews Very good
Very poor value for money. A huge and busy conference venue.De-personalised. The food was rubbish in particular. Bruscietta for £6.50 was soggy with tomatoes from a tin. Yuk.
Lovely grounds, friendly staff, nice recreation facilities
Breakfast, leisure facilities, comfortable beds
Long walk to room from reception/dining area/bar. Fire doors wedged open most of the time. Furniture/fittings poor quality
Large twin room, very good dining facilities.
Alonf way from the nearest town/village.
The room and facilities were excellent, especially the pool and hot tub. Likewise the food was enjoyable.
Dinner service was poor; we waited for at least 20 minutes for our plates to be taken, while staff wandered in and out of the kitchen in groups of two or three chatting loudly and ignoring diners, and it wasn't even a busy night in the restaurant. Loud arguments and swearing were heard from the kitchen frequently, so at least there was some entertainment while we waited for service.
Too hot at night with duvet type bedding.
Staff, free tea and coffee in lounge bar, quiet location, good for conferences
Openly one tiny piece of chicken in my morrocan chicken salad (this was rectified by the friendly waitress) - the dish was then very good.
Bedroom was lovely
Bit tricky to find in the dark as Sat Nav took me into small village
We found the location great, staff helpfully and polite, room was clean, tidy and comfortable. All in all we had a great stay Thankyou
Hotel was spacious, clean and very modern!
Food in restaurant did not represent good value for money! I had the steak dinner at £25.00 but the portion size was poor and I wouldn't have valued that particular main course more that £14.00! This was also commented on by other members of my party with a different main course!
Really enjoyed the leisure facilities. The gym, the classes, the pool, the sauna and Jacuzzi. The personnel were very kind, the hotel was clean and cosy. Secluded in the middle of nowhere, yet easily accessible. Ideal for a relaxing weekend or for a family gathering/wedding.
Wi-Fi not working in the rooms, unlike advertised. Both inside and outside the hotel looks a little dated, but don't let that put you off.
Room decor -dark and dingy Room size-seemed arranged for single business traveller Overall ambience -dreary
Wifi not working in room, downstairs was a sea of people on devices. Disinterested staff Very noisy, little sleep
Leisure facilities Friendly staff
Restaurant a bit over priced Long walk to room 270 Cheap plastic coat hangers that kept falling off when hanging clothes
-Design/Decor -Comfortable bed, but very small/flat pillows. But since extra were provided, that was manageable. However I was alone and required 3 for myself, not sure how it would have worked if I had to share with a partner. -The fire-grilled pizza is very good. (I got the Hawaiian) -Though I didn't use it, the athletic facility looked very well appointed. -For the most part the rooms were nicely sound proof - only heard one couple in the throws of passion and one group of drunken mates walking down the hall (not bad for a full week stay) and I am a VERY light sleeper.
-limited menu / options for bar fare -Long queues to order in the bar area - even had to call the front desk once. -The panini sandwiches are very overpriced for what is provided.
Location, local pubs for food and drink, facilities
Bar Meals a bit expensive
Friendly staff Good meals Clean Sauna, swimming pool and jacuzzi
Office convention vibe Rooms a bit dark with small windows
Very comfortable, reasonably quiet.
Poor food & extortionate bar prices. Paid less for better in London's West End.
Lovely location, comfortable rooms, friendly staff. Perfect stay and central location for many attractions.
Minor critique - mattress may have been a bit tired and parking was limited and some distance from entrance.
The setting was lovely and rural. The hotel was spacious and modern. Staff were obliging. The rooms were well appointed. The restaurant was pleasant and the food well presented. There was a good choice of standard fare. Car parking, when not in conference mode, was good.
No flavoured yogurts at breakfast, though there was a Greek yogurt with things to add. The rooms were a little dark due to the small windows.
The facilities and services equaled many of the top International Conference venues , the Park like rural grounds were perfect for a weekend away or for recharging ones mind
Good Staff, Food in restaurant excellent.
When booking in asked if i wanted to put extras on my card, i said yes but couldn't use a debit card only credit card. Why? Not good when no cash and wanted a drink had to go out and find a cash point
The room was spacious, the beds were just fine.
The prices for dinner in the restaurant (dining or breakfast) as compared to the quality. Staff people were relatively young, maybe a bit unexperienced, which did not set me at comfort.
Breakfast was very good and the waiting staff were very attentive.
I booked this hotel because of the leisure facileties (swimming pool), because I have two girls aged 11 and 14. When we checked in we were told they could only use the pool between 1 till 3 (bearing in mind you cant check in until after 3 and you have to check out by 11). They were happy to charge me full adults rates for room and breakfast but not allow them to use swimming pool as adults. The Pizza orderd for room service was very sub standerd.
