Lifts. Slow and busy and only one
Great location, friendly staff, was put in a twin room asked to move was moved within 5 minutes
Lovely staff nice big room but couldn't get Internet neither could my partner. Good location good value.
Internet connection poor.
Location right next to Piccadilly train station. Polite & efficient check in. Decent al a carte restaurant (Michael Caines). Happy hour for cocktails ( certain listed ones). Reasonable bar prices. Room ok (superior) don't know if there's much difference from a standard as we didn't see one. For a drink the champagne bar was only small but much preferable to the ground floor bar.
Bar area on ground floor small & a bit 'pub like ' lacking in ambience. Several of the bar/waiting staff a bit too interested in talking to each other. Overpowering food smell due to the bar being next to the kitchen.
Central location Deep bath
Very slow lift. Dim reading lighting bedroom
Receptionist was efficient . Big comfy bed. Location.
The duty managers attitude when we complained that the room smelt damp and the milk tasted sour ,even though it was in date.
period features large bed a bit quirky handy for shopping, tram, train car park building across the road
very noisey as our room was on the first floor facing the street, might have been better on a higher floor at the rear very loud music from the bar downstairs until the wee small hours
On arrival we were treated to an upgrade as the style of room we had chosen was fully booked. The Junior Suite was lovely and well appointed and comfortable. The restaurant is superb with great food and drink. This was out first visit but will definitely not be our last.
There is some noise from outside, but this is in a busy part of the City. Having to pay for snacks i.e. soft drinks and crisps in the room is a little off putting given the cost of the room. Beware the 12.5 % service charge on the bar bill. It's understandable in the restaurant but not on everything.
Free room upgrade Food was good
Breakfast was a little pricy, but good quality
The original features of the building itself. Cocktail bar. Large rooms
Fire alarm that went off in the morning due to a kitchen issue
Free wifi. Good room service , choice of restaurants . Great bed and toiletries
Noisy doors! Impossible for any doors to close without banging. Very hot room despite air con
It is located in a VERY NOISY location, and although even the plumbing was quiet, the street isn't, and the noise came in.
I stayed the night at aBode with my boyfriend for his 21st birthday, the staff were friendly and incredibly helpful. The room was clean and the bed was amazingly comfortable, will definitely be returning!
The period features of this charming converted mill are stunning! And surprisingly quiet, given the location.
Be careful - when accepting a free upgrade, make sure you don't get stuck by the lifts!
Large bed with comfortable mattress. Spacious room. Well lit, large bathroom. Very handy for Piccadilly Station
Paid for upgrade to junior suite then moved to a superior room. Suite was cold because of its corner position with large windows - the heating in the hotel was not on. Didn't get a good nights sleep. Duvet was too small, seemed like a double on a super king bed so we took it in turns to wake up with no covers. Bedside cabinets too high for the bed. Only one of us had a light switch within reach of the bed so I had to wake my other half when I got up in the night (bed was too big to move to middle position). Hairdryer only worked intermittently. Some areas very dusty. Didn't like the masculine décor.
The winston suite was amazing on the fifth floor, you definitely get what you pay for, the room was spotless.
Quiet, clean, secure
Always irks me that the "tuck shop" costs!! - too enticing!!
The bed was amazing! As was everything else in the room. The staff were all very nice and helpful. The location of the hotel is great, right next to everywhere we needed to be. We especially loved the cocktails in the bar. Over all, definitely worth the money.
Waitress at breakfast (a young girl of Asian appearance) appeared a little rude and rushed us while talking. Everyone else was lovely though.
Fire alarm was sounding for fifteen minutes.
Friendly staff. Good wi-fi. Comfy chair in room. Massive bed.
The price was vastly over inflated as I was there during the labour conference. The desk wasn't suited to work at really. Poor acoustic seperation. Looks a bit bare but some may go for that style.
Location Breakfast staff/service Room
Front of House staff distracted and showed no interest my experience as a guest. I didn't feel as though my custom was appreciated which given the price of the room was surprising. A boutique hotel needs to have level of service that befits the definition. Abode Manchester did not in practice live up to its mission statement in that regard.
Staff, Location, Rooms , bar.
Our group had issues with the room keys, Were resolved. Great restaurant but it lost ! literally in the basement . What a loss . Please move it upstairs , needs better USP. No wardrobes to hang clothes in. The current arrangement is not in fitting within the style or period of the hotel. Halls ways need eco lighting management with sensors. Terrible room service menu. What would Micheal Cain say to that !!
Location, nice friendly bar staff - one mnothingade me a negroni - which was not on the cocktail menu - decent restuarant
We had room 310 which was HUGE and the bed was so comfortable! Would definitely stay again.
