The public transport in Cambridge is not good so despite being the hotel near a bus stop sometimes you have to wait half an hour for a bus (and the stated timetable is not reliable)

The lady of the house is very friendly and helpfull. The house is very clean and the rooms are cozy and comfortable. The house is not in the centre of the city, but there is a busstop almost in front of the house (every 10 min). We really liked staying in this house.

Flexibility of the owner regarding our travel arrangements (Put up a camp bed for last-minute addition to our party), friendly welcome, good value for money for a city centre.

One little gripe - curtains in the room need to be thicker as street light comes through them which meant I had to turn on one side to get to sleep - but bed was seriously comfortable!

My room was comfortable, clean and warm, I was made to feel welcome.

What a lovely find, the owner clearly takes pride in her business & attention to detail for guests needs are evident everywhere. Immaculate room, very comfy & lacked nothing. Great choice at breakfast. Bus stops a few yards away if car-less & takes you straight into the centre of cambridge & back no problem. I walked from the station which is do-able in about 20 mins, but maybe not if you've got heavy luggage or it's raining. I stayed here as it had good reviews & they were justified.

The wall between mine (the small double) and the chap next door was extremely thin, so noise was a problem. Happily he responded well to my request to lower the volume on the TV, but I could hear every word when he skyped his wife and baby!!

Lovely landlady, spotless accommodation and very comfortable , would recommend to people and stay again .

It was close to the bus stop and not too far from the train station. The bed was really comfortable.

For me the curtains were light coloured in the room. There was a street light outside the bedroom window, which disturbed my sleep. This does not affect some people, but a black out blind would have been helpful. The pillows were not the most comfortable. The breakfast was quite basic and would have been nice to have had a cooked breakfast in the price of the b & b, rather than being charged extra. On our last morning, Elizabeth was going around the breakfast tables collecting payments for our stay. We found this very uncomfortable and inappropriate when customers would like to eat their breakfast in peace.

Extremely comfortable bed & breakfast and a very pleasant hard working manageress, although could do with additional help. The room was very clean and the whole place had a certain feel about it that made you want to come back again.

Nothing really, excellent place. will definitely come back again if in that part of the country.

We had a really good stay at Alington House. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff were excellent and we would definately stay again if we were in Cambridge. Thank you for a wonderful weekend break.
