This charming family restaurant with rooms is just a 5-minute drive from the beautiful Peak District National Park. Abode has free Wi-Fi, and the restaurant uses local produce in its menu.

A good location and parking on site
You could have stayed in a better quality more modern hotel for the same money. The smell on the landing of cooking was off putting when you left your bedroom.
Location of hotel was good, a short walk down into town. Rooms warm, comfortable and breakfast very good, didnt get to use bar or other facilities as only stayed one night. Would recommend
The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was very good
I didn't like the blankets on the bed and they were very shabby. Its many years since I saw blankets and this really put me off the hotel. Nice clean bedding is amust and this should be looked at quickly
room was very comfortable, breakfast and staff were excellent.
we were very disappointed with the shower as we could not get the water warm enough.
This hotel is in serious need of an up-grade. The room was very small and nothing like was advertised. The decor is incredibly dated, the bed very uncomfortable and the breakfast only average.
Service and welcome were both excellent. The staff were all very friendly and helpfull. Bar snack menu is superb and the food is great.
Strange noises coming from the heating system overnight.
Staff were very helpful cleanliness was good breakfast was lovely
the bed had a very hard mattress, the decorations and bathroom facilities were quite dated and tired
The location. The size of the room. On-site parking. The breakfast.
The run down look of the place. Stained carpets throughout the property. Dirty shower cubicle. Very hard bed. Cheap furnishings.
The location is good for Buxton and the building is attractive from the outside ,
The room was in need of a total revamp and was smelly (musty)The location of our room was through the entrance to the toilets (Yuk!) The room was way overpriced for a 2 star hotel,
Lovely building good location good parking on and off road enthusiastic staff willing to help at all times. excellent hotel for golfers who want a base to stay at. one the best quality breakfasts I have had.
The room I had was tired. the bathroom had a wet room with a mediocre shower. I think it would be very cold bathroom in the winter.
Convenient location for peak district, quiet location, good beds. Friendly staff, general atmosphere,
Parking slots rather small, but there is lots of of parking on quiet, wide roads outside.
Staff very helpful, friendly and enthusiastic. Meals were good and well cooked
Lighting in bedroom was poor. Hot water in shower erratic.
The staff made us welcome and were keen to assist in getting us a taxi to our evening venue. The hotel is nicely located in a quiet spot about 15 min walk from the town centre a few metres from Buxton's well maintained park and was ideal for an early-morning walk, after which the rather tasty breakfast was most welcome. The room was comfortable and quiet, albeit up two flights of stairs.
Having stayed in similar quality hotels in France, the price was at the top end of what we would pay for the quality of the food and accommodation.
The no fuss acceptance of our pet dog and at no extra expense. Catered for us to eat in the lounge at breakfast. The location in close proximity to the park.Clean and friendly staff.
The mattress on the bed in room 107 was very hard and did not go down too well with my wife who is a chronic back pain sufferer.( A fact we forgot to mention to the lady in reception when we checked out.)
The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed the most tasty and well presented full English breakfast.
Good outlook over garden to trees in a lovely location. Good room size and en suite. Friendly and obliging staff and a very good breakfast. Easy and quick check in and out.
The ergonomics of our room, i.e. the sofa underneath the TV and facing away from it. We kept knocking our knees on the legs at the end of the bed as it was too close to the sofa.
Attentive staff Dog friendly Close to the Pavilion Gardens and centre of town Off road parking Good food
Having sheets and blankets instead of a duvet. Mattress may need retiring soon.
Location They offered to let us move out FOC at 6pm or knock £20 off but too late in the day to find another hotel nearby and we had a party to go to near by. Breakfast was nice
Filthy room Room smelt of old socks Dirty kettle Shower head was disgusting, not been cleaned in months, full of mildew Taps were disgusting I don't think this room had been looked at in months, never mind cleaned. Was nothing like the website. Totally unsatisfied, in hindsight wished we had not paid £70 and got our money back. We got £20 off the price. It was on the ground floor and not part of the old hotel.
location friendly helpful staff nice coffee
would like fresh fruit and yogurt rather than tinned fruit for breakfast
Friendly helpful staff especially amenable about parking.Excellent breakfast with efficient service.Spacious room with 2 easy chairs.A good position for visiting lower Buxton.
Close proximity to Buxton town centre.
The overall decoration was very dated. The bedroom suite of furniture was past it sell by date, the wardrobe door didn't open properly - the hinge was broken. The drawer bottom was sagging. The bed linen had small holes and had in the past clearly been damp as mould spots were evident. The foot board was very close to the sofa and the corner post was hidden by the bed cover, consequently this caused personal injury. The portable heater was in an poor state of repair as it had a broken foot. Having to use two hands to open the room door (latch and handle) and having to cope with luggage made the room difficult to enter.
Location was excellent for visiting the Buxton Festivals
Hotel was tired and our room was dirty. The staff seemed more interested in talking among themselves rather than looking after guests. The whole experience was very average and very poor value for the money charged - the management need to try much harder!
Hotel close to town centre Parking Warm on a chilly June night Good breakfast
Wasn't too impressed with Buxton town centre. We had expected more original shops but mostly charity shops and national chains.
Breakfast, location and surroundings.
Rooms, ensuite leaked a lot and the room felt dirty and tired.
We liked the availabilty of a late check-in, and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar was very comfortable and quiet, with efficient service, and the breakfast the following morning was delicious.
Our bedroom was quite basic and a bit dated, with quite a hard bed, but this wouldn't put me off staying in the hotel again.
