Rooms are extremely small, you couldnt even open the room door fully. No space to put your luggage
we didn't actually have a window to outside in our room- which made the room very warm as we were put in the basement
Location of hotel was excellent. Staff was accommodating and helpful when needed. Great customer service from all staff.
When I first arrived--the room which was assigned was extremely small and uncomfortable--it was not what I paid for on the reservation site. I was then reassigned another room--had to walk three flights of stairs. Again, the price was not in alignment for the quality of room that I received.
The staff was extremely helpful, went out of their way to make sure we had an adaptor for our phones. Great location next to the train station!
5 flights of stairs!
Everyone was friendly and nice !! They offered help when I needed it and was kind with offering suggestions on what I should do on my trip
It was clean. And very helpful when dealing with complaints. They gave me half price after i complained to them. Even tho i was asking for a full refund. But oh wel i couldnt be bothered to argue no more so just left it with half price.
Woman in reception on purpose gave me the wrong room, a basic room. Even tho she knew i booked the executive club room. They changed the room 2hours later. Then the Air-Con broke and made a terible noise at 3 in the morning. Packed everything up and changed room again. The 3rd room had a dining room upstairs so all you could hear was chairs moving around. Only had 3 hours sleep that night. Really anoyed, dont think il be coming back here again.
Comfortable classy accommodation
Bit small and 2 flights of stairs - but this was not an issue for me!
no late bar facilities Website does not advise that these facilities are in anothe r building across the road
Room size very small and the room was located in the basement.
Location was good, breakfast was excellent, cleanliness was good.
cleaning staff not careful when leaving bottles of shampoo towels etc. - left us with 4 bottles of body lotion and one hand towel to share with no face clothes :/ even only one pkg of cookies to share. Upgrade to a room but bathroom size was terrible.
Location was nice close to Hyde Park, Paddington station, Lancaster Gate station. It's a nice area if you are just staying for a couple of days and want to be close to Paddington station. Definitely not a good area for first time travelers to London as many of the attractions are far away. Staff were friendly.
First of all, because the original hotel was full when I arrived, they moved me to another property next door called Lancaster Gate London Hotel which is owned by the same company. Checking this hotel's website it says it's a 3-star hotel and not 4 which my original booking was supposed to be. They did mention that the hotel was just recently renovated so it could have been upgraded to a 4-star hotel but i'm not sure about that. On to more negative things about this hotel: - The room was so small it felt like I was in a cage. I've been to London many times and have been in small rooms before but this one by far was the smallest! There is barely enough room to walk. You cannot even get to the night stand on the other side of the bed without climbing the bed! - There were too many bright lights in the room making it very hard to sleep at night as it's never completely dark. There is a green emergency light on the ceiling that cannot be turned off (I asked!) and also there are buttons for the "do not disturb"/"Room Service" and when you push any of them you'll get a crazy bright red color! Why use lights inside the room, put the display outside of the room or do not make it so annoyingly bright. - Walls are very thin and you could hear the doors opening and closing from other rooms quite loudly. - It was way overpriced for this kind of service (296 pounds for 2 nights) - I would definitely not return to this hotel
The staff were so lovely and helpful, great facilities and a super comfortable bed! Definately would reccomed to anyone!
The hotel policy is not clear where the reception was in another building And also found at the site that the hotel has a gym and upon arrival surprised he does not have to walk only twoAs well as the location is not adversary and I think that the hotel deserve classification within the four-star
close to everything!
size of room was a bit small
shower facilities were great; clean rooms
Location just off Hyde Park is good. Double very comfy bed, newly decorated room. However the room tiny, in a basement literally under the stairs.
The Executive Suites are in a separate building to the main reception which under normal circumstances would be ok. However access to the room was through a little cupboard door under the stairs! The stairs were extremely steep and narrow, totally unsuitable for guests. The room while beautifully furnished was cramped, and while I had booked a double room, was totally unsuitable for two people. The bathroom was the smallest I have ever seen, no place to put toiletries or make up bag while applying makeup. The rooms under the stairs are not suitable for hotel guests. I did not have time to request to switch rooms.
The hotel looks nice from the outside. The concierge staff means well, and they do their best to be courteous.
The first night I was put in a room in the basement. There were some renovations going on in the basement hall so it had plastic on the floor and looked rather unclean. The door to my room was not fully closed when I arrived and there was a dirty towel on the floor in the shower. Outside of the room, in the court yard, there was a gadget (I believe that it was the Ventilation hub) that made a lot of noise. I might have had a total of 1 hour of sleep that night. At one point I gave up and went to the reception desk and asked to get another room because this was totally unacceptable. They told me I would have to wait until the day shift came in to get a new room. Around lunch time I went back to the reception to get a new room. I was taken to another room and the concierge service took me there. When we arrived to the room it was very clear that the room had not been cleaned (coffee mugs on the tables and a skateboard on the floor that the previous visitor must have forgotten. The room was much bigger than the extremely small one that I had been in before so I was happy to wait for the cleaning lady to come and clean this up. The concierge person told me he would take care of that. A few minutes later a person from the reception comes up to my new room and explains that she is very sorry but this was not the room that they intended to give me. I was taken to a smaller room on the floor below. That room was not very well cleaned and the ventilator in the bathroom sounded very loud so I had to have it to off during the whole time. All in all, I'm very unhappy with the hotel and I will not recommend Best Western to any one, in fact I have contacted the travel person that takes care of all the business travels for the company that I work for and asked here to avoid putting any of our employees in a Best Western Hotel.
Iron in the room
Room very small
Room size was a struggle Our front door key also opened the hotel room entrance next door to our hotel rooms - not a good idea
Location is excellent.
there were air con units o/s of the room (these did not belong to the hotel) but kept waking me through the night
Close to Paddington
Air conditioner would not switch off so on my way out early evening I asked them to get it switched off on my return the aircon was still on but blowing hot air. After repeated attempts to switch it off they then moved me to a new room. Also I would hate the elderly or someone with knee trouble to have had my room on the top floor up very steep narrow stairs for four floors without a lift option not great Tim Cape Town
We stayed in new property on Clarence Street but check-in at other address. Staff were lovely & very accommodating couldn't do enough for you. Room spotless & comfortable. Great stat convenient location near Lancaster Gate for plans we had made
The original room we checked into opposite road from reception was too small we got stuck between outer door & inner & view out window was a wall it felt like being in a basement, we did get shown another room but size was the same & so I asked if any bigger rooms available & I would pay any extra but we was given a larger club room in new property for no extra charge
Bit small, lot of steps
Uncomfortable bed, was too soft for me and room was small.
