Allerdale Court Hotel  

Good value for money.

We had an interesting room, quirky to say the least, with a high 4 poster bed and large floor to ceiling gilt framed mirror in an old old room with beams and furnishing to go with, although the bathroom was comfortably modern with all mod.cons. Very nice, comfortable, cosy and a real change from the other hotels we stayed in on this trip. The staff were excellent too.

The staff were brilliant - friendly and polite

The food wasn't brilliant - sinewy fillet of steak and scrambled egg that had been cooked to an inch of it's life were all disappointments.

An excellent little hotel in Cockermouth, Cumbria. We had a large, clean bedroom, even at budget prices. The best features? Delicious hot breakfast; enormous bathroom; friendly, welcoming staff.

Early-morning noise from a local cycle race in the street below. Not at all the fault of the hotel, though it did interrupt my sleep. However, the noise made me get up early and I enjoyed a leisurely morning stroll around the town, which was v interesting.

Fantastic location. Lots of bars and pubs just 5min walk away. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was brilliant. The room was very clean and even though our room was over looking the street, as we were on the top floor, we heard no noise.

Even though the hotel was comfortable and clean, I thought our room could have benefited from a lick of paint. The bedroom itself was spacious and fine, it was mainly the bathroom which has seen better days. Paper was coming loose off the walls and the lino floor, I'm sorry to say, was horrid. And instead of a towel bath mat, there were paper ones. Also, I did miss not having a floor length mirror.

The staff were terrific with a very hand on owner.

We had a very enjoyable night at this hotel where the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Our room was lovely and spacious and the bed very comfortable. We would also recommend the food in the restaurant which was delicious.

I loved the fact that it was very spacious, the bar area was great and the dining area open & bright. Our room was very big and comfortable.

I thought a couple of the staff were unfriendly and didn't give you time to ask anything before being quickly dismissed. One girl was very friendly and she had time to talk to everyone. It was a pity really the two of the staff would put us staying at the hotel again. I asked for some milk for the table at breakfast as there wasn't any and the waitress gave me a look that I shouldn't have asked for it.

Warm welcome and attention from the staff and owners. Large comfortable onsuite bedroom. Excellent breakfasts and evening meals.

It suited our purpose of meeting some of the family to exchange Christmas presents. We enjoyed the stay very much.

My wife had great difficulty with all the stairs.
