Your hosts, Val and Brian Leask, have provided award-winning hospitality with combined experience of 25 years. Their friendly personalities and attention to detail assure that Allerton House is always more than just a place to stay.

When you arrive at Allerton House, you are met with a warm welcome and a complementary glass of port or sherry in the Macallan lounge, where the warmth of a traditional log fire greets you on a cold day. The Macallan Lounge is also where you can find a film to watch in the extensive DVD library or just relax reading the daily papers or a book from the library.

Facial, massage and beauty treatments can be arranged upon request, with a beautician coming to your room. Services include: a range of facials using the Dermalogica state-of-the-art skin care system; Swedish and aromatherapy massage; manicure and pedicure; make-up application (including eyelash and eyebrow tinting); waxing; electrolysis; and ear piercing.

If you have forgotten your laptop, you can hire one to surf the net in the comfort of your room

There are conference facilities available for up to 20 delegates.

Transportation to and from country walks or other local destinations is available upon request. If you're planning to be hiking for the day, packed lunches can be provided.

Occupying a tranquil location, the house is only 5-minute’s walk from Jedburgh's town centre, as well as from a host of lovely Border country walks.

There are over 20 golf courses to choose from in the area.

If you enjoy a spot of fishing, why not try the famous Junction Pool on the river Tweed, where the best Scottish salmon can be caught.

Local attractions include: Monteviot House Gardens; Harestanes Countryside Visitor Centre; Jedburgh Abbey; Mellerstain House; Floors Castle; Paxton House; Jedforest Deer Park; FernieHirst Castle; Abbotsford House; and Melrose Abbey.

Travel information

Jedburgh lies 80 km from the main cities of Edinburgh and Newcastle.

By Car:
- As you enter Jedburgh on the A68, turn up Oxnam Road, which is situated between a church and a white building called the Waterside Fitness Centre.
- Allerton House is 250 metres along on the right-hand side.
