Village location but only 10 minutes from city centre Good car parking Excellent staff.. very friendly and extremely helpful Clean and Very good value
WiFi wasnt working very well... initially only in reception but later fixed in room but still slow. all rooms are no smoking and no outside covered smoking area
Locality, parking, warm greeting, ease of registration, cosy room, good food, spacious lobby area. Receptionist explained problems we raised and was very professional.
Poor WiFi, it was only available in the lobby; poor bathroom, shower leaked, toilet float valve sticky, sink taps loose.
Bed was comfortable
Rooms look nothing like the picture. Very Old fashioned and run down. Need to train your cleaning staff, if cleaning and find something broken report it ie Toilet seat was broken. WIFI not usable in rooms, only Reception.
No restaurant available Breakfast started too late Reception staff not very capable Could not provide VAT receipt Did not react to several phone calls No Wifi in room
Started with a 25 minute check in. Got keys to a first floor room, walked up, the lock in the door was faulty. Finally got into room, turned light switch on- no power!!! Went back down to be given keys to another room. Well let's just say this room was the worst hotel room I've ever seen. Dirty carpet, toilet seat hanging off, mould all around the bathroom. Smashed mirrror, no handles on windows, broken glass in windows. Dirty towels. I actually left without using the shower!!! While I was at reception getting the keys to my second room there were another 4 guests all complaining that their rooms were unacceptable, most saying they had no hot water, one even saying no water!!! Please keep away from this hotel.
I liked everything from the reception to my sleep
It was cold and the blankets were not that warm
Very outdated the first room was mouldy and smelly the next one was dirty bathroom was the worst thing I have ever seen no loo roll no toiletries bath was so small couldn't have a shower as the curtain stuck to you the toilet seat was falling off tea and coffee was just a tea bag no coffee milk or sugar no batteries in the remote only one member of staff on at a time and for the sign that said the doors are locked at night and to ring a number breaks all fire safety reg I know waited 15 min to check in rang number no answer
The beds were comfy that's about it!
It was a dirty hotel. People walking about on roof outside our window and smoking. Breakfast isn't served early so didn't even experience that. Window wouldn't shut properly so there was a draft. Rooms were cleaned every 2 days rather than daily (which explains why it is so dirty) with mould and mildew build up in the bathroom .The floor divider between the bathroom and bedroom was completely loose and could be moved or tripped over as there was nothing holding it down. For the price you pay seriously there are much nicer hotels in the area. Booked this one by accident and would never go back or recommend it. I only wish this accepted pictures so I could show you the actual state of the place.
the quietness & location
Decor very brash & old fashioned
The room looked reasonably clean.
Long wait to check in. The room was freezing cold, the window had been left open until 6pm in November......
The lady at reception is nice and quite welcoming the only good part about the hotel
The price was cheap maybe that is why we got a dirty bathroom. The sheets on the bed where clean
The bathroom was dirty and very old. The tiles over the bath where falling off. The shower head was full of scale. The carpets where stained. The toilet pan inside was very stained, bleach would have cleaned it. The tiles where splash stained just needed a polish.
Absolutely nothing positive to stay about this dreadful establishment.
Truly the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. The room was grubby, the carpets filthy and the bathroom disgusting. We refused to eat the breakfast as dining room dirty. No staff to be found in reception in the morning. Bathroom ceiling disintegrating all over the floor and apparently 2 tea bags constitutes a welcome pack. Just horrible.
The location was nice and the decor in reception was also nice
Noisy people in the room next to us. The room was poorly decorated. The bed was ridiculously uncomfortable (two single beds pushed together so left a massive gap between the two)
Reception area very nice sadly the room and bathroom didnt live up to its grand entrance!!
Absolutely nothing. This hotel is appalling in every aspect.
This hotel is appalling. Badly run, no wifi, filthy rooms, beds never made or tea and coffee facilities cleaned or replenished. Restaurant was closed every night and there was no one in reception in the morning.
Nice breakfast and significant updates to try and improve. Rooms.
Many updates with high qualit parts but thrown in and half finishe d. Doors were half downgraded to key entry with holes for electronic system. Ward odes half built from ply board. Finish properly and this will be not bad for any stay but a bit hit and miss at the moment.
the silver service provided at the event was excellent
I attended an event on the 11th October which was held on the first floor. The toilets were situated on the ground floor. Very inconvenient, everyone thought
Most of the hotel has been done out to a high standard, except the part we stayed in.
The lodge needs renovating in line with the main part of the hotel. Breakfast was not very appetising and over priced at £10 per person not £6 as quoted online and on arrival! When we went for breakfast the staff were not very helpful and hadn't cleared the tables so there was only a couple of tables available, he said he hadn't had time to clear them but we were there for about half an hour and he cleared one table and stood around looking clueless!
From start to finish I have the worst experience with this stay. From being charged an extra day onto my card without my authorisation, surely this is against the law. The shower would not work so had to shower in another room. Wifi poor, door just about locked with a screw to hold the lock in place, exposed wires in the wall. No phone or TV. Bed and quility of the room very poor.
Staff were very friendly and helpfull
Internet / wifi did not work but I did not complain so they had no chance to fix it for me.
Free wifi downstairs.
Our room (4th floor) was a very bland, brick wall as a window view, no natural light in room. Walls were scruffy well overdue a paint and carpet. Bathroom sink had a hole & crack in it. Worst part a leak in the bath tap! Dropped ALL NIGHT! Drove us insane!! We went to complain to a very in helpful man! Drink prices very high. Breakfast prices even higher!! We went down the road to a local for breakfast £5 and it was amazing! But at the end of the day we needed a cheap place to lay our head. You get what you pay for!!
excellent hotel .. clean room and friendly staff! :)
the hotel was well laid out
Bed creaked, door furniture had been changed leaving holes in the woodwork the new handles were not fixed loose, breakfast poor. Reception staff were disorganised.
