A very friendly family run hotel. All the staff were polite and courteous at all times. I would highly recommend to anyone. The breakfast was perfect.

The television signal was very poor, I complained twice and they said the manager had re-tuned and fixed it but when I tried it, it was just the same, so I couldn't relax and watch some tv. I have never been to a hotel and not been able to watch tv befor. I was very, very upset and disappointed...

Thought the room was excellent, buffet breakfast at the weekend was ideal. Good relaxed atmosphere.

Pleasant, helpful staff. We asked for a quiet room and got one. We ate in the bar and the food and wine were very good. The restaurant menu looked terrific. Very interesting art on the walls - unusual in a hotel? It felt like the hotel was cared about and not part of some impersonal and anonymous chain. good public transport just outside.

You could only get ITV on the television. you have to admit that's a pain, but may not be the Alma's fault.

The hotel is very tired but the main thing that let it down was the shower, this is very important in any hotel. It was a mere trickle of warm water, horrendous!!!

Value for money and the exceptionally friendly staff. The hotel is very clean and the food reasonable. I stay here on average 1 to 2 times a month. The location is pretty good for the M60, M62, M56 and M6. Parking is good too.

The welcome from reception, clean comfortable rooms with everything I needed, the cooked breakfast and the price.

Excellent! Room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Staff are great. Liked the iron and ironing board in the corridor that can be taken into your room.

Radiator could have been warmer in the morning.

I found the breakfast staff ( except Lynda) most rude inefficient and lazy , reception staff no comment. No porter facilities and if you asked for help everything seemed to be a chore - won't be back and not to be recommended

Friendly and efficient service from all staff, a comfortable bed and a good choice of food which was well cooked and presented. The location was exactly right for us (very near family) but also allows easy access to Manchester and surroundings by public transport.

Location relatively near to the centre of stockport.Helpful staff

Myself and three colleagues stayed the night prior to a business meeting in Stockport. There was free WiFi throughout the hotel and plenty of space in the lounge to meet for informal discussions. The Italian style restaurant had a good choice of dishes and breakfast was excellent.

Some of my colleagues who were in the old part of the hotel were advised not to drink the water. The hotel provided jugs of drinking water to take up to the room. It was a bit like Spain in the sixties!
