Score from 100 reviews Excellent
The rooms were big compared to some rooms I've had in hotels. They were also very comfortable. Our party had three rooms and they were all big, one being in the old block and two in the new. They were nipping clean, which is always a relief whenever you first go into a hotel room. We were warned as soon as we checked in that the old room was above the room which was holding a wedding that night. We were told that the music would finish at 12.30am and it did just that. We were in the new block and could not hear any noise.
The only down side was that it didn't have a lift. So one of our party who is disabled found it quite difficult to get up the stairs. However, because these were in the old part of the property they were not very steep, though there is two flights to go up with a landing in the middle breaking the climb.
The staffs are just exceptionally friendly and helpful in many ways . Always ready to help if I am in need and highly professional in their service provided .
There is some issues for the Wifi during my stay .
Every single person on the staff was wonderful. Our room was pristine every day, the kitchen staff was outstanding and the reception staff was incredible.
Staff are very good and the room well decorated and comfortable
Nice and clean hotel with a reasonable breakfast included in the room rate. Free parking.
Noisy from the main road. Showers absolutely terrible, very little flow which was surprising considering the water literally gushed out of the bath taps. We complained about the shower and were given keys to two further rooms so we could all get showered but the flow was just as bad in the two rooms, one of which was cold. WiFi only seemed to work in the lobby of the hotel.
Had 2 rooms opposite eachother. Nice breakfast. Plenty of parking. Hotel very busy with a wedding but we had very good service.
The hotel was good value and the room for the lunch party was good and looked attractive.
The room was quite a distance from the reception/bar area. The breakfast was exactly the same on both mornings. The waiting staff at the lunch had obviously not been trained adequately e.g. the jug of cream was brought round when we had almost finished our dessert. In fact the waiting staff were poor.
Lack of a lift
The staff were great, the room was a good size and the breakfast was good.
It was very noisy - sirens and traffic all night. Also very hot in the room because the heating was on! It never occurred to us to check the radiator given the time of year. Sleep was difficult.
Staff were very helpful and polite. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Good selection at breakfast. Would book again.
Receptionist was very helpful - the only positive!
Incredibly rude cleaner who was cleaning the toilets. Unacceptable noise from rooms next door at past 1am. Worst shower ever, practically a trickle and nothing else.
Comfy, spacious, facilities good.
Bathroom too cramped change layout in 53, able to hire an iron instead of leaving in the halls as had to wait and saw someone burn themselves on it picking it up but very minor gripe
Bathroom fittings. Room size.
Bed quality. Smoke smell in corridors. Water pressure dreadful in shower.
Reception and bar personnel very friendly and efficient. The standard of the room was much better than when I last stayed there, having been refurbished.
The one male staff in the restaurant at breakfast was rather surly and not at all friendly and helpful. The female staff were much better.
Helpful staff Clean rooms Ample parking
Some noise from the wedding reception below
The double bed on the first night was very uncomfortable, but the staff were excellent in finding me a more room with a more comfortable bed. Didn't like the fact there was no drinking water on my particular floor.
friendly welcome, comfortable, well-appointed triple room in new annex. Good quality, imaginative Italian-themed menu in restaurant, with friendly prompt service.
No disabled access to any of the bedrooms. A stair lift would be a boon, and you would presumably qualify for financial assistance to install one. Breakfast was indifferent; food and coffee kept too long on the hotplate, at a guess, (except the fried egg which was perfect.)
Convenient location. Simple service.
No lift, we had to bring suitcase up.
The room was spotless, facilities in room very good, staff very friendly, good breakfast, no problem parking.
Shower was very weak, but was good tempreture, would have been nice to have individual bedside light.
Easy check in we were booked in very smoothly . The receptionist was very helpful.
Good nights sleep Deep bath Good quality food Location central
Room needed refurbishing No bedside light Kettle could not be plugged in in situ Bathroom sink had "not drinking water" sign above, had to use tap on bath No glass in room for cleaning teeth
the room was very hot even with the fan on but the weather was a very hot day
HOTEL USED FREQUENTLY FOR WEDDINGS SO LATE EVENING NOISE (NOT ALWAYS JUST FROM MUSIC!) CAN BE A PROBLEM DEPENDING ON LOCATION OF ROOM.
