Score from 1835 reviews Very good
The hotel is conveniently located, 15 minutes drive from the center of Edinburgh. Ample parking, correct facilities, it would make good value for money. If they had soundproofing in the room I would have rated it as excellent.
The soundproofing is nonexistent, we could hear every movement of the neighbors so bring year plugs or headphones. Moreover in our room there was a banging/cracking noise (heating or plumbing?) about every 10 seconds so sleeping was almost impossible.
Very good basic hotel, better value than the price you pay.
Breakfast was not very nice. Difficult o navigate through the building, lack of signs etc.
the location was nice with lovely views . hotel was cheap. staff were polite and helpful.
had to get taxi into city centre
Every thing was above what was expected.
Very poor breakfast. Pile of beans and some very greasy items not normally associated with Scottish fry;hashbrown haggis.
It looked a bit dodgy but was better than we expected
The old adage applies here, you get what you pay for. Bed was very uncomfortable one of us ended up sleeping on the pillows in the bath. Used towels as pillows as they were useless for their actual use. Vending machine was out of order and couldn't get a hot drink. Shower over bath had no curtain and if someone else w as using water you either got blasted with hot or cold water. Ciukd here everythung goung on inbither rooms, will keave thar to your imagination. Would we stay again, no way. The guy on the desk was very friendly and helpful, only good point.
Heating in room did not work. Hotel made no attempt to sort problem out. Beware, winter is here and I absolutely froze all night.
Rooms cheap Sheets and towels clean
Breakfast Reception staff rude.
There is a beach in the backward. Beautiful laid back location. Very good for families with a car.
My bath did not have a shower curtain. There is no public transport to the place. Away from city center
Front desk people were polite and helpful with checkin/checkout and getting cabs. No problems with the staff. The area is not in the city, so it's relatively quiet, which is nice. Apparently they are doing renovations right now, which are desperately needed.
Heater/Radiator didn't work. Toilet didn't flush. Shower came up to my neck (I'm not that tall [1.8m]) Very thin walls. No toiletries (only hand soap in bar form)
Not a thing
according to the website it was only 2 and a half miles from murrayfield it ended up being 7 miles from murrayfieldwe we was hoping to have a nice walk to the centre of edinburgh and call for a meal on the wayto murrayfieldit was not a hotel i'm not worth the £40 we paid it was a hostel
cheap and clean
remote location small breakfast heater not controllable either freezing or melting tiny tv
Staff friendly View at breakfast lovely Decent breakfast
Dark dreary reception with dead flowers on both windowsills! Only two pillows in room Couldnt open window - banging headache ensued as need fresh air to sleep well! Whole place bit creepy and empty - no other guests apparent! Movie on TV in room fri night was Psycho!! Ironic!
The staff were very friendly and helpful it was clean and tidy, but good value. Loved the brekkie
the decor was tired
Cleanliness, location itself is just nearby the river. The bedroom is always warm. bathroom also very comfortable.. just have a good stay here Everything perfect for me.
Just need to walk long way until i met my room.
Only the view
Not even for one night! Whoever in here says that this hotel is good for one night dont believe him. First of all its located in the middle of nowhere. The bus station is about 30 minutes walk to the hotel in a road without lights. They charged the visa card immediately after the booking and didn't care to ask how wed like to pay. And the rooms! My Goodness these awful dirty rooms that you could hear a fly walking in the next room. Ours by the way didn't have any heating (was broke) but at least they changed us. The hotel staff was tottaly unfriendly and unkind. All in all save yourselves the trouble and find some other room. Hope this helps
Nothing to complain about staff where excellent
Hot water to hot
the staff were nice and helpfull and my wife and i think the location was nice and with love and attention it could be a nice place to stay
1. the bed was hard 2. curtains in room did not close fully 3. security light beeming straight into room 4. worst of all and extreamly dangerous was the cold water taps on sink and bath came out with scalding hot water 5. fire door within corridor had automatic door magnet disconnected, hanging off with wires exposed 6. checked out after 1 night having booked 2 nights and was asked to send an email why. I requested a refund for my second night which i had paid up front for and are still awaiting.
night staff very helpful excellent
on arrival no kettle or cups in room. went to bed at 2300hrs after 6 hour drive and tea to be woken up by someone entering our room after id locked the door from the inside they used another key card I had my laptop etc in room had I not been in would it have still been there when I told staff in am she said email them bout refund not her problem she wasn't on last night
The view of the sea and reasonable price. Breakfast too.
The distance from the city centre, the bathroom facilities like soaps and shampoos were not available, and the heater was timed centrally.
this hotel and i use the word hotel very lightly is dire ,. room all need refurbishment ,, really run down and way past its best . it is deffinatly NOT work the money or even a visit . drab and tasteless interior. Noisy and creaky building and guests slamminfg doors and staff members on the top floor crashing and banging about at all hours . i booked this break to relax and it was anything but relaxing . totally disappointed with the whole experience and would never recomend anyone to book here
The location was lovely and our room overlooked the Firth of Forth. The staff were all very polite and very friendly. Evening meals were not available but the staff were happy to order us a takeaway and let us eat it in the bar. The Toby Carvery nearby is also good.
Location near the forth, ample parking and did exactly what it said on the tin
Evrey think was good.room is clean.breakfast was wonderful
I asked about three single bed but they said we dont have.
