compact rooms with adequate ventilation & all amenities...friendly owners. shower had nice lighting! breakfast was good, and private parking was a plus. the best point was the rooms had ground floor access!
room & toilet was a bit small, with crammed open closet space for hanging clothes.
- Louie & Ada were great hosts and helpful - Wonderful breakfast - Bus route right outside door - No stairs to climb - On site parking - Easy walking distance to Mall
- Beds a bit narrow - Artificial plants in hanging baskets outside front door
Rooms excellent great location could get a bus into Edinburgh bus stop just outside. Great Value.
I cannot single anything out as it was all perfect. Thank you!
Excellent breakfast, very friendly service, convenient bus to city center, private car-parking
It can be noisy when other guests come in/leave the house.
Nice and efficient lady owner; spacious and clean room to stay with free parking. Breakfast is good.
TV box didn't work well to switch to different channels. Breakfast is served at 8:30am, not much flexibility given, i.e. 8:30 to 9:30am would be better.
The place was like home, relaxed and very friendly. plan to stay there again
It was a very nice guest house and the breakfast was lovely. Having the bus stop right outside the premises was very convenient. The room was cheerful and immaculate.
We spent a wonderful few days in Alpha Guest House. It was easy to find, out of the noisy, heavy traffic zone. From a bus stop on the other side of the street we could get to the Old Town in 15 minutes and the buses were frequent. We started our days with a tasty breakfast, enough to keep us going till the afternoon. We got a spacious room with a nice bathroom and a large, comfortable bed, all you can ask for trip to the city.
The room door opens into the main corridor, which was a bit noisy when other guests arrived.
The location is excellent with good bus service to the centre.
Breakfast ok but could be better
clean, professional bus stop to city center very near
The location ideal,as property is bungalow ideal no stairs to climb etc.The Hostess Ada was very nice ,Breakfast was good not big Breakfast plates just enough Portion wise.Room was very clean clean towels every day although we just stayed 2 nights, Bus stops outside both ways we liked The £3.50 24 hrs ticket travel anywhere directly from the door of Hotel Plenty Parking as well.On our next visit to Edinburgh this will be where we stay for our Return visit hopefully will be later in year.Well done to Ada &l Husband
clean/helpful staff/good value/good food/convenient to public transport
room could have been a little bigger
Staff were helpful, and the off-road parking with cheap convenient buses is a better option than trying to find parking in the centre.
Room was very small with no space for luggage. "Bathroom" was a shower room (no bath). Just one sitting for breakfast, at 08:30.
They were very accomdating... especially as I arrived very early.
It was in a quiet area but on a main bus route with a good service not too far out of town
good location, off road parking, small but comfortable room. Good breakfast.
Loudness of other guests, very small bathroom.
Nice room and breakfast.
A little bit far from city center but there is a bus just our side of the house which is convenient.
The location as great. Walk across road and catch bus to town. The room was good size. Breakfast was plentiful and staff were very helpful.
The noise. We arrived at 3pm in arvo and doorbell rang outside our room until 10pm first night and until 11pm 2nd night. Every time someone walked out front door it slammed. This would start from 6.30 in the morning so you were woken up.
The location was perfect for our stay.
Not sufficient room in the en suite facilities, we are average size people and it was tight squeezing into the shower!!!
Cleanliness, location and overall facilities.
Breakfast but toast was delivered first and cold when required.
size of en-suite and cleanliness of curtains and some en-suite areas Early departure time (10am)
All was satisfactory - hostess very obliging & helped us arrange early breakfast.
Yes I enjoyed my stay at the guest house. Friendly people very clean.
The only problem I found was getting to places yes the bus service is straight across the road but they do not run on a Sunday. At the guest house they only serve breakfast not lunch or dinner so you have to walk miles to get something.
The en-suit was very small and the shower was very weak. Lots of noise early mornings, doors slamming and loud footprints on laminate floor. Breakfast could have been better, there were no sausages with cooked breakfast in the mornings. There was also no help yourself table for juice, cereals, fruit, yoghurt etc.
