Luxurious accommodation, very clean with great views from front of building. Had excellent food -dinner and breakfast.
Nice atmosphere, Good food
Need to get wifi issues sorted out
I like the décor of the hotel it had a modern feel and the restaurant food was superb, room was tastefully decorated and had many small touches like a cafetiere and fresh coffee and cotton buds etc
My room was on the top floor and had to keep dipping my head to avoid hitting the walls jutting out and shower was not at all powerful
Loved the friendliness of the staff, casual but efficient and great to deal with. Looked after my bike and loved having cyclists there - I wasn't the only one and it was only a Monday night! Felt very welcome indeed. Room was very comfy and warm, bathroom excellent and everything clean and tidy and decorated well. Evening meal I had there too and the rib eye steak was fantastic - even compared to steaks in the USA I have had! I would certainly go again.
Lovely place Nice bar and restaurant Good food Friendly staff Uncomplicated and informal Nice breakfast
No vegetarian breakfast option on the cooked menu (although not a problem for me).
The food was excellent, the staff efficient, but easy going. Was a nice easy place to stay, would definitely stay there again. I had the room with the bath, a much needed bath! Lovely towels, good bedding - no complaints whatsoever.
Ok, the tap of my bath was a bit difficult to turn off. Minor.
Location Welcome and staff Room and shower Bar and restaurant area Garden area Home-cooked dinner TV and sleep Comfiness and cleanliness Delicious home-cooked breakfast Price
Room was very good with windows front and side. Bathroom well appointed with large bath and shower and ample hot water.
Room not serviced properly leaving us with only one hand towel. We dined in the first night and in our opinion food was poor and over priced. During our stay after being served with evening meal or breakfast did any one enquire if all was OK or need any further drinks etc.
I can confirm that Alston House Hotel is a very good place and it's possible to enjoy good foods. The staff is nice.
Great Location. Fantastic Welcome and Friendly Service. Delicious Food
Staff very welcoming, and.made me feel right at home. Room was excellent, and in fourteen nights away this hotel was one of the best. I would recommend it to anyone
Mediocre food served by over-tired staff
Very clean, comfortable bedrooms, cosy restaurant & good food.
Nothing to dislike!
Comfortable clean room and hearty breakfast. Lovely bathroom. Friendly and helpful staff.
Lack of sky tv. Decor needs a refresh in some of the communal rooms and lobby.
Ambience was brilliant. Luxurious room, bar lovely and cosy, excellent food, kind, helpful staff, lovely breakfast.
No drawbacks, would definitely return
Lovelycouple, fantastic breakfast.Would highly.
Lovely large bedroom with good shower facility
Staff extremely helpful, not intrusive but very friendly and attentive. Not sure how representative it was as very quiet during our stay, but lovely informal & relaxed atmosphere in the bar/restaurant. Food also excellent.
Is a bit cold if you're around in the day before the heating is turned on - but it's an old building & was only around 4'C outside.
Lovely location and room. The facilities were great. The dinner was most enjoyable, with lots of specials and an a la carte menu.
The staff were very friendly and did everything possible to make my stay as pleasant as possible. I had stayed there in may, and it was a lovely touch to be recognised as I was checking in.
Good food. Nice and quiet. Charming town main street two minutes walk away.
Oddly shaped ensuites have steps in the floor to trip over in some rooms. Not a great issue but you have to remember to be careful.
