Breakfast not included
Cabin was very cosy. Shower was powerful and hot water very hot!! We enjoyed our stay and would go back.
the breakfast here was excellent. I liked the smoke salmon a lot
Well, I naturally expected more from this Deluxe single room, but it turned out to be just basic. No bathtub at all. Unable to connect the wifi here!! Very difficult to have any signals on phone too.
Very clean, friendly and well organised. Absolutely stunning location.
Location lovely . Comfortable room with great views .
Service at breakfast slow
Excellent breakfast, requested crispy bacon and was cooked to perfection on all three days! Lovely location. Helpful, friendly staff.
Wifi 'hit and miss' (usually miss). Thought I had been locked out when I returned at 11pm on my first night, place all in darkness but discovered side fire door had been left unlocked - this hadn't been explained to me when I booked in and I specifically asked about access if I was late in, I was told there would always be someone around........there wasn't.
piano in the lounge big bath
potential danger of falling out of windows in attic room
Clean & comfortable bed. Location of retreat.
Over priced. Had to look for staff on arrival. Breakfast was not worth the cost & background music (radio something) was a little annoying. Perhaps a relaxing C.D would be better?
Basically you rent a small cabin. You get the key, you have your own front door and bathroom facilities and everyone leaves you alone. If that is what you want,m this is perfect. The location in Lamlash is also very good.
Nothing. Everything was okay.
The room we were finally given was very large and comfortable with spectacular views over Lamlash Bay. Staff were very helpful and resolved complaint on arrival.
When we first arrived we were given one of the cabins which were set back from main hotel and to say they were basic, is an understatement. there were no privacy either, as there was a walkway right in front of windows in all cabins.so be aware! We were given a room in main building after complaint but had to pay a bit extra, which was worth it, but even at the higher, but reduced rate for upgrading, we did not get breakfast (£10.50) pp if requested. Would recommend hotel, but be careful what your booking.
Nice place food good very clean
No draught beer
Location, and availability of single rooms. En suite good for price.
Too noisy with revellers returning at 3 in the morning. Wi-fi did not extend to cabins. Shower tepid warm at best.
Staff very attentive and professional. Location peaceful and beautiful. Food also excellent and good value.
The view was fantastic
There is a steep sloped road entrance to the hotel, so not recommended for older people without a car. The room was a cramp attic/roof deluxe bedroom? Very little headroom, especially in the sloped roof bathroom, Only a bath with hand held shower attachment and no screen due to the sloped ceiling. The wi-fi was very poor anywhere in the hotel. The cooked breakfast was well prepared and adequate, but the choice of cereal limited, with a fruit bowl of apples and bananas being the only fresh fruit options.
Comfortable bed, cheap price of accommodation.
There was no reception and no staff to be seen. When I arrived I was waiting long time before I managed to find someone, and when I was leaving the situation was this same, really annoying. Really bad broadband and It would be nice to have at least radio in the room.Toilet was dirty.
Damp smelling room , walpaper ripped. Coming back from day out to find room door wide open and all our belingings on show, when reporting to member of staff , they had a couldnt care less attitude.
very quiet relaxed great value for money would certainly go back and recommend
food was expensive and choice was poor and disappointing however I didn't go there for food
Convenience to Lamlash Golf Club; Bar
Instant coffee - no decaf
The garden and location in Lamlash
Staff not available in the evenings. Turnover of staff, some told us they were unpaid and had free lodgings and meals. is that legal? Accomodation was described on adverts as "Cabins" they are not - it is a long line of Shalets behind the old house. £10 extra for breakfast, not in full price and even then full price did not include VAT. So poor value for money.
The room as very comfortable and the view of the Holy Isle excellent. Breakfast was very good
The staff were too relaxed and need to raise their game if they are to get return custom. The bathroom was not cleaned on at least two of the days. The owner was more concerned at the cost of the recent refurbishment and not concerned with addressing the customer's requests. A missing remote control to operate the TV was reported on day one but nothing done. Also, overcharged for drinks at the bar when checking out.
After the second night, we had a very nice and comfortable big room with seaview (room number 2). We liked the service and atmosphere in the breakfast room very much; the breakfast was very good and varied.
We did not receive a very good welcome because on arrival we were told that we could not have a room with seaview, although we had received a written confirmation stating a room with seaview. Instead, we were given a very small back room for the first two nights. Only after the second night we were given the room that we had booked. Since the back room is much smaller, the price should be lower than for the (bigger) front room with nice view.
Very welcoming and friendly staff.
Wifi was a bit unreliable some days.
We were in the basic double rooms - a simple row of cabins behind the main hotel. We didn't use the hotel except to shower and sleep. The walls between cabins were very thin, but luckily our neighbours were mostly quiet. If you happen to be there alongside noisy guests, you will be able to hear them very clearly! Rooms were sparse but comfortable - clean bed, hot shower.
Unlike 99% of hotels on booking.com, the prices do not include VAT, which means you pay 20% more than the advertised price. So our rooms were listed as £65 a night, but were actually £78. I didn't realise this was the case until I checked my bank statement. This is a pretty mean trick - I definitely felt ripped off. On top of this, breakfast is not included: it's an extra £10 here, or you can go elsewhere (as we did). When you put these things together, this hotel offers quite poor value compared to others on the island. For the same price, we could've got more comfortable rooms elsewhere, with TV, a mirror, hair dryer etc. Despite what the hotel says on its website, no meals other than breakfast were available. This nearly left us without food in the evening, as all other restaurants in Lamlash were fully booked. Luckily, we managed to get some food at the excellent local pub The Drift.
Room very clean and comfortable although small. Staff in breakfast room friendly. View from room beautiful.
Was disappointed that larger twin room that was offered was not then available on arrival. Also, there was no healthy breakfast option such as porridge, berries, nuts or seeds of any kind. The cereals on offer were sparse and all contained sugar - so breakfast also disappointing. The gourmet food restaurant that was advertised no longer existed so no food available at the hotel after breakfast.
