Site had a v.good feeling
Toilet sit was not secure - nearly caused a few problems after 4 pints in the bar
The hotel has become a bit tired. Wifi only worked in the bar. No soap in the bathroom. Toilet seat broken. Needs some work to bring it up to a good standard.
At first we had a courtyard room, which I would not recommend. Once we moved into the main house it was lovely. Staff couldn't have been friendlier. Good restuarants in the town.
Loud plumbing. Couldn't open windows.
The peacocks. The dining room. Beautiful grounds.
Excessive price for what we got. Antiquated facilities. Difficult to find. Bathrooms cramped & ill planned. Windows would not open. Not particularly clean. Needs a substantial investment to get facilities current.
Receptionist very friendly & helpful. Took our soaking wet golf gear into laundry room to dry overnight. Good breakfast
Had Lasagne off the Italian menu all pasta & no meat! Noisy water system whether flushing the toilet or just cleaning your teeth loud in bedroom & next door bedroom.
The location was excellent all the rooms were very good. The restaurant was lovely and the food was really great cooked well and very tasty one of the best meals I've had for a while. All in a I wished we were there a lot longer.
Only being there two nights
Being out in little courtyard cottages.
Coming back in evening past the trees in the dark.
The room was really nice and clean and a good size.the location was good, it was really quiet and peaceful. The hotel staff were polite and helpful.we will book this hotel again as we really enjoyed our stay.
Could not get the wifi to work in our room but it did work downstairs near reception.we did talk to the staff about it and they offered to help more but as it wasn't that important for us we didn't bother about it.
The location is great...on the doorstep of some of the most beautiful parts of Scotland and closely accessible to the town of Blairgowrie. Good parking.Comfortable and clean. Liked our stay in the Courtyard...felt cottage like.
Breakfast arrangements particularly when they have a small number of guests. Very large multipurpose space. Coffee would have been better served at the table hot and fresh. Attention to this kind of detail was poor. Good cooked breakfast however. Communication about things happening in the hotel..like for example restaurant not available one night of our stay when we had planned to eat there.
Check in was easy and welcoming.Room was in the courtyard and was very clean and comfortable. As we were late arrivals and expected would have expexted a heater being put for a wee while before we arrived .Room warmed up quickly though.Only had a couple of drinks in a very quiet bar without any background music which was a bit strange but breakfast was great and the waitress was very helpful. Loved the peacocks.
No wifi ,well signal was just in the corridor in the hotel .No wifi in the courtyard rooms although it is advertised as wifi through out the hotel.
The Italian mask decorations in the dining room. Evening food is Italian and was quite good.
Given a room with NO WINDOWS at first. Moved us to a very tired and worn honeymoon suite when we complained. No cake/scones available when we arrived mid afternoon. No fruit or yoghurt available at breakfast.
Surroundings were great
Superior room booked was not what we got. Various minor defects were found, not expected in a superior room. Courtyard room given , one with window was explained as superior, one with no window was standard courtyard room.
Very friendly staff. A nice peaceful location. A relaxed atmosphere, and the food was good. We were there for just one night, but it would be a good place to stay for a longer as well.
Staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to help us. June and Donna were a credit to the hotel. Breakfast was very good. Room was very clean.
Owners farther talking about us in French and not thinking we could understand what he was saying.
Loved the food - Italian my favourite. Lovely décor - purple is my favourite colour. Comfy beds
Shower was not brilliant and the Sanilav made a lot of noise. Also peacocks were quite loud early in the morning.
Nice interesting building, close to shops and nice walks. Inexperienced staff tried very hard to be helpful but had little or no hospitality training.
High staff turnover led to no continuity of account information or hotel services Italian restaurant was unable to provide nearly everything on the menu including pizza.
Warm, friendly, peaceful, and would return again for longer.
Nothing to dislike
The accommodation was clean and comfortable. The outlook was pleasant. . The hotel manager was very helpful and arranged an evening meal when we arrived later than expected.
Peacocks are quite noisy but you soon got used to them.
The super king sized bed in the Altamount room -comfiest ever!
The cold room at 5.30pm on a cool May afternoon, the shower that was scalding or freezing but not worth getting into, the lack of a table to eat at(even though we were overnighting) till 8.30, the empty condiments at 9am for breakfast, the crumbs on the serving table , the cheap sausages, cold coffee, the lack of table clearance and the generally slack service - so unlike last year!
We just loved the location so much, just outsideof Blairgowrie, about 5 mins to walk. The situation of the hotel so far of the road, and the peacocks, made you feel as if you were in the middle of nowhere. We were staying in a courtyard room, so amazing a first for us. It was private, romantic and cosy. Very romantic and picturesque. We discovered that they have lodges and cottages also, so we may try them out next time, great break away.
I would have liked to have seen some vegetarian options on the breakfast menu. But, that wouldnt stop us going back.
Friendly staff, very accommodating. Great food. Comfortable rooms
The screeching peacocks
We had a nice, large, private room with a good mattress and good water pressure. It's a beautiful hotel in an easily accessible town with plenty of restaurants
They were renovating so breakfast was bread in a hamper instead of a full on English Breakfast as was advertised when we booked the room. They also did not provide a hair dry as most other hotels and B&B's do.
The understanding of the staff, themselves embarrassed, at the non-functioning hotel!!
We stayed overnight - we had to. The hotel was not operating. It should not be on your booking list.
It was a charming place to stay and most of the staff was very pleasant. The grounds are beautiful and the peacocks are fantastic.
Nothing, I would stay again
