Comfortable, clean rooms. Lovely friendly staff. We arrived mid afternoon after lunch, the staff put themselves out for us and made a fantastic lunch even though they were busy preparing for the evening Nothing

We were pleased when we were upgraded to a better room (room 10) when the television didn't work in the room to which we had been allocated (room 5). The television in our allocated room didn't work due to a poor signal. There was a telephone but no instructions to tell us which number to ring for assistance, which meant my husband had to physically go to reception to complain. Also there was not a booklet in the room giving details of the hotel and facilities in the hotel and the area We found both of these in our new room

The original part of the hotel had lovely features, pleasant bar staff, food nice and reasonable prices. We booked a 4 poster room for a romantic 1st anniversary break but it was not available when we arrived, we were put in a 'feature room' and told we could move to the 4 poster room on our 2nd night, we did get a complimentary bottle of wine. We weren't shown around when we arrived, just told your room is left at top of the stairs! When we went to bed we noticed that the duvet cover was too small for the duvet by about a 3rd, whilst adjusting the sheets we noticed to our horror a large 'red' stain on the duvet, which we both hope was red wine and not something else!! It was late at night so we didn't report this until the morning, I commented on it again when we checked out and said I hoped it was removed to be told by the receptionist that she'd reported it but cleaning wasn't her department!!!! The 4 poster room was nothing special and we actually wished we'd stayed in the feature room for both nights. Both en-suites had no running extractor and the hot water was either cold or suddenly too hot that would certainly be dangerous for a child.

The staff were most pleasant and helpful at all times. The quality of the tea in our bedroom was the best that that we have experienced in a hotel. Also the muesli at breakfast was exceptionally good. The cooked breakfast could have been warmer.

Good sized bedroom with comfortable bed. Restaurant food is very good, not fancy but generous portions and well cooked. Electric heater in bedroom took a while to warm the room (March 2013 was very cold)

Excellent Hotel nice friendly staff We did not like the fact that we only stayed one night although we had booked two nights and had to pay for two nights. The Hotel said they would have been able to give us a refund as we told them before 11am If we had book directly with them. Our trip was due to an Medical emergency and when we booked we did not know how long we would be staying. We wonder if you could refund our extra night which we did not stay (51.00) we are old age pensioners and could not really afford to pay for the extra night when we did no use the Hotel
