Very friendly, private room, good breakfast, provided evening meals, good price. Room appeared to be clean, however on closer inspection it was very, very dusty. In need of redecoration. |

The friendliness of serving staff at Breakfast time was both very welcome and useful for a first time stayer in Chester. The breakfast was plentiful and of a good quality. The noise penetration through the thin walls and ceilings, did distract from an otherwise enjoyable stay. Guests arriving back late and ? staff coming on duty pre 7 a.m. did not seem to appreciate how much their voices travelled into the rooms. |

alton lodge was in a good location 10 minutes walk from the centre of chester or £3:60 in a cab if your less active. the rooms were comfortable no traffic noise and the chalet style rooms to the rear of the hotel were private and suited us perfectly the only gripe would be with the shower which didn,t have enough power |

We liked the motel style with rooms outside the main building. The bed was comfortable and we liked the two comfortable easy chairs.The breakfast was excellent. It was easy to find, convenient for visiting the city of Chester. Good car parking The TV was very small |

very friendly hotel with lovely helpful staff, great location 15 mins walk to the city centre and only 5 mins drive to cheshire oaks complex. we would recommend the shanghai chinese restaurant 5 mins walk from alton lodge.... helen and andy bramhall stockport. a bit cramped at breakfast as everyone seemed to go at the same time. and it could have been a bit later served on the weekend. also dvd players in the room would have been great. |

Staff were pleasant and bed comfortable. But room radiator wasn't working and shower was a trickle only. Some noise in early hours when other guests returned from night out, walls seem very thin! |

The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel room was clean and well equipped. The hotel is about a mile (a pleasant walk) from the city centre .. Aa very minor problem was the water pressure in the shower. |
