the Yorkshire breakfast
All was good
Very nice people and so helpful. Very good location and had an enjoyable stay.
Excellent breakfast, host and accomodation. Could not ask for more even in the best hotel.
Everything was good.
We stayed at the Alvera Court as we were attending an exhibition at the conference centre. The location was absolutely perfect. Parking was a plus. The welcome, breakfast and facilities were all excellent.
Decoration of room
Lady greating us with a bad attitude
Absolutely ideal position for the conference centre. Perfect if you need a couple of nights accommodation. Quiet, simple, very clean, superb shower in my bathroom.
All rather dated decor. Perfectly clean and functional - it's just not particularly bright and cheery. Mattress not particularly comfortable - fine for a couple of nights though.
Old fashioned Breakfast Room - our mattress protector had a waterproof backing! Not nice - bathroom had an old plastic air freshened on the floor! Not good - limited selection at breakfast - not a 4 star
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Alvera Hotel..and definitely will be back.. very central to town centre, everything within walking distance.. The hotel was excellent, room was just perfect.. the ensuite great.. nothing was a bother.. breakfast choices very good.. Would totally recommend.. I read many reviews on other hotels/guest houses and the fact that Colin took time to reply to comments won me over.. because its evident he and his wife take pride in their hotel..and when we go back will stay here again..
Nothing to dislike..
Central location. Very clean. Parking available.male host was very friendly ,welcoming and helpful.very clean, comfortable bed.
Breakfast bacon wasn't raw but looked it. Female host would not have won four in a bed.
Friendly host and great breakfast
Pleasant tree lined streets in the area and conveniently near the centre of Harrogate for restaurants etc. It was made easy for us to come and go while retaining security.
The bed had a mattress protector under the sheet and it was plastic (in case of incontinent guests perhaps) but it was rather hot/sweaty to lie on.
Friendly owner,excellent breakfast
Very close to town centre and amenities theatre & restaurants yet still in a peaceful location. Very comfortable large spacious bedroom and good sized bathroom with shower and bath. Delicious breakfast and excellent service. The building has a lovely character - all extremely clean, cosy and well presented. Will definitely stay again.Slept like a log!
Would have liked a bit more mineral water in the room - one bottle between us was not really enough but still a nice thought and appreciated. A larger timescale on breakfast times especially on a Sunday would have been nice. Breakfast is served 8am to 9am perhaps till 9.30 on Sunday would be nice.
Nice and quiet room. Our preferences were filled in. We where well taken care off!
The bathroom had all the comfort but was very small
Location Service Parking (free permit if on road) Knowledge of town
Small shower room (room 2)
Very friendly and accommodating hosts
Breakfast a little too early, maybe extend until 10 am
The car parking was very restricted and required careful parking.
The service and the atmosphere was excellent. Helpful with a smile who looked after us and made us very welcome will book for next year as well.
Not staying longer.
Very clean bathroom. Nice big windows next to the bed so I could feel cool at night. Central position. Opposite conference centre if you need it. Towels changed without asking. Breakfast quite good. Well painted everywhere if a little old-fashioned, but traditional.
Bathroom way too small (room 4). Paid £100 a night, no discount for four nights. I thought this too high but perhaps because it was Harrogate and opposite the Conference Centre. Not a very welcome greeting as we entered the car park, in fact none at all!
location, comfortable, friendly
No gluten free bread provided despite asking for this on the reservation. Sadly, most places do not provide this. Why can't a loaf be put in the freezer then there would be no waste? This is the most expensive b&b we have been to so a loaf cost at most £2/3 would have been appreciated.
Owners were excellent hosts ,breakfast menu was varied and food cooked to perfection . Location suited as we wished to get a close up of Harrogate.Room large and clean with good ensuite facilities ,would definately return.
LARGE BED WAS too low and mattress was soft and uncomfortable
Nice welcome from owner Good breakfast
Shower room small Gorgeous weather meant room was very hot to sleep in
Location was good, place was relaxing and Harrogate is a good place for a short break.
Small bathroom, but you get what you pay for. If we wanted a palace, we'd have had to pay accordingly.
The owner was lovely The breakfast was lush Excellent room
