We had a lovely meal in the evening
mould on the bedroom wall, they had updated the bathroom but hadn't included the back of the door which had veneer missing and watermarked. Our room for which we paid £125 in breakfast for two was very small
Meals were excellent
Bathroom extraction not working and strip-light flashing
The attention to detail, the friendly but professionalism of the staff. The whole occasion will be remembered for a long time. I cannot thank the staff of Alveston House Hotel enough for making our Anniversary a huge success.
There was nothing I could possibly find fault with.
Comfy bed, looked nice
Very expensive, upgraded to bigger room but no shower and only one set of towels although there were 2 of us
Great location/clean and friendly helpful staff.
Bathroom and shower a bit small in single rooms. Breakfast expensive for the amount received. As with all hotels - bar prices excessive.
The facility and gardens are quite nice and well-maintained. On the surface, it seemed a perfect respite after a long day of traveling.
The general atmosphere and staff attitudes were pretentious. This smugness was off-putting and seemed based not on a desire to provide great service, but rather to convey that we should feel fortunate to be staying there. Service to some guests went above and beyond, almost to the point of obsequiousness. However, this type of service was not delivered equally to all guests. The single room was tiny, quite warm, and the bed was hard as a rock. The room was located just above the facility's waste receptacles and the noise and odor were undesirable. Restaurant service was casual and inattentive, not what would be expected in a restaurant that clearly intends to present itself as an upscale, 4 star experience.
Dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were outstanding.
Although the room was described as a 'superior double', it was very small with a miniscule bathroom. There was only one chair so the other person had to perch on the bed. The decor although clean was drab.
A dog friendly hotel, with very welcming and professional staff, and the personal touch of the hotel owner. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived.
This is a gem of a hotel on a busy A38.
Hotel was good overall, staff is very friendly, good restaurant and great chef.
staff were very friendly and accommodating.
room was quite small.
Wonderful welcome, attention to detail, comfortable bed, free wifi. Very convenient for Thornbury and Bristol.
Cleanliness and comfortable.
Very expensive.£100 for b and b is very expensive for a 3 star hotel.
The staff were v. helpful and willingly arranged afternoon tea in the garden for the whole family
Wish we'd booked a superior room
The overall ambience was great, as was our dinner in the Conservatory.
The shower was difficult to adjust & the pressure was very poor.
Excellent service from all the staff, very clean, adequate comforts and first class food served at dinner. Location most suitable and parking facilities easy.
A delightful hotel to stay at; pleasant, courteous staff, excellent food; spotlessly clean and comfortable. Highly recommended as outstanding value for money.
No adverse comments at all.
The staff were all polite and friendly and observant. The hotel was relaxing and comfortable and the meals were very good.
Very clean Well trained helpful staff excellent quisine
Good food in restaurant
extremely accommodating and friendly team with super service
Excellent cooked breakfast; staff was very welcoming. There was a wedding party there one of the nights but the sound isolation must work because we didn't hear a thing.
The room was very much on the small side. The bed was up against the desk on one side and I had to be careful not to smack into it.
Clean, confortable rooms. Fabulous food. Lovely staff.
Rooms are very small. Paid for superior rooms but still cramped. Couldn't open the window because overlooked main road.
Staff were all so helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Comfortable room and excellent food.
could not fault this hotel and would recommend to anyone.
shower could have had more power. booking.com quoted wrong price for breakfast
