The best thing about this hotel is its location: 3 minute walk from the RSC theatre. Perfect for a play. The £15.50 per head breakfast. Thought I was staying at the Waldorf.

Very friendily and helpful staff. The Thai room cleaning girl was very charming and kept our room immaculate despite us being very lazy. It is a very relaxing hotel with loads of charm. A lovely and welcoming hotel just let down by the breakfast. Breakfast at £17.50 per head. Very expensive considering the number of places within 5 minute walk in Stratford that do excellent breakfasts for a fraction of the costs. We like having breakfast in our hotel but this price forced us elsewhere and as a result we also found some lovely places to have lunch and dinner in the evening. . Maybe they are missing a trick as we may have been tempted to eat dinner at the hotel if breakfast wasnt so expensive.

On arrival we were welcomed very politely by staff on reception and were quickly checked in. Within 5 minutes we had parked up and were in the room. The room was a good size with a medium/large bathroom, nice powerful shower but the bath was a very small one. Overall a decent room and hotel for a one night stay, location was pretty much perfect for a visit to stratford. The room was decorated accordingly with the style and theme of the hotel however in places the room was unclean and did need to be updated with some new fixtures and fittings. Hotel facilities - I am not too sure that guests should have to pay for parking though.

Beautiful surroundings, very friendly staff, wonderful location right near town and all the attractions. Pool is large enough to swim and sauna and steam room an added luxury. Bar staff were struggling as there were not enough staff to cope with demand for bar meals. We felt very sorry for the waiter and that affected our enjoyment. Bar meals were small and over priced. Thick potatoe chips were gritty as if not washed, and flabby as if not cooked enough.

Spa facilities, pool and sauna. Evening bar staff and reception staff v good. Noisy floors in corridor. Bath appeared to have paint and scum on it. Toast cold and soggy at breakfast and only one half of tomato on cooked breakfast. Portions generally at breakfast were mean - not much butter and no sugar on table on 1 morning.

Very convenient for the centre of Stratford. Excellent leisure facilities. Just a pity there was a dog barking in the room opposite our room but we were quickly able to change rooms which solved the problem.

It was not to far to walk to the river. The waiter sorry can't remember his name the Yorkshire accent gentleman was very good had a chat about lots of interesting things. Gave good advice on what went well with my food order. The poached egg on my salmon was the best I've had. Thanks to the chef. My husbands steak was not the best. He went for the more expensive one rather than the one on the economy price menu and it was tuff and grisley. More channels on the tv would have beeen good.

Staff were welcoming and helpful I had an early start and missed breakfast, the restaurant doesn't serve breakfast until 8 am on Saturdays. The only option was a room service continental breakfast at £17.50 plus £3.00 room service charge. Spaces in the car park were quite tight

Just a few small things. 1. No water in the room ( after reading a note to say there should have been) 2. waste bin had no bag in it ?? felt this quite strange as would not add to the life of the bin? 3. when sitting in the breakfast room quite drafty!! 4. request at breakfast for my egg to be cooked well - and it wasnt had to send it back.

I thought it was very expensive for what it was and the added cost of breakfast on top of the room was a joke! If I compare it to other Macdonald hotels like the compleat angler in Marlow it just does not compare

The hotel was ideally located near the town centre,so easy access on foot whilst the car was left secure in the hotel car park. The restaurant staff were very helpful as were the staff running the spa. The swimming pool was really clean and big enough for a good swim. The beauty treatments were excellent and very fairly priced.
