Staff were very friendly. Good breakfast.. Poor room. Very very small. Better in Travelodge!!! Not good value for money. Wont use Macdonald Hotels again as website not accurate representation of what you get.

Only a small complaint but black hairs on floor in the bathroom, none of which were ours and the bedside lamps, not the shades but the lamps themselves were covered in dust which to my mind is peoples dead skin, not very nice. Mike Stuart

Resturant very nice but limited choice, even when you swap courses from the inclusive to al a carte.

The location is ideal for walking trips around town, whilst avoiding noise. The hotel is very attractive from the front, with nice grounds (to the front) and impressive period features. Most of the rooms are in new wings added to the rear. When booking, you might want to check what type of room you are going to be staying in, if that is important to you. It looks to be a good location for a wedding or similar function. Billed as an award winning restaurant, it actually is a grill offering a limited menu. The wine list is however good. I feel that the hotel could be so much more if it all came together - staff and food choice.

I thought it was very expensive for what it was and the added cost of breakfast on top of the room was a joke! If I compare it to other Macdonald hotels like the compleat angler in Marlow it just does not compare

The hotel was ideally located near the town centre,so easy access on foot whilst the car was left secure in the hotel car park. The restaurant staff were very helpful as were the staff running the spa. The swimming pool was really clean and big enough for a good swim. The beauty treatments were excellent and very fairly priced.

We liked the friendly efficient staff. We liked the hospitality. However, the corridors leading to the standard rooms does need up dating. Carpeting poor and heating poor. As above, the difference in the decor of the corridors leading to the standard rooms is markedly different in quality to the main corridor leading from reception and up to the suites. Our room was fine, but coming in from the outside back car park, we had room 33, was quite a disappointment after the ambience of the reception area, etc.

Staff were helpful and an interesting building The internet service through bt was unavailable - seems crazy not to have your own wifi service available in guest rooms. Getting a document printed was difficult because only an ancient version of Word on the system. Too many little steps for luggage

We came as an all adult family group. We were very well looked after by all the staff and were impressed by the facilities. This was the second time we had been, as we came for the same period 3 yeatrs ago.

The very friendly and efficient staff. It's location so close to the theatre. The lack of a small room fridge and not enough 'ordinary' tea and sugar on the tray.

We chose this hotel specifically as it had a sauna and spa,we could have stayed in a similar location in Stratford at about half the price (special offer) but chose the Alveston Manor because the other hotel did not have these spa facilites. When we got there we found that the Sauna had been shut down for a week so we were obviously disappointed as this was one of the main reasons for our visit,I think you should have told us when booking that the sauna was broken down.

We were specifically informed on check in that breakfast was included to be told that it wasn't when we arrived at the restaurant the next morning. We ate elsewhere.

Pleasant staff nice welcome. Hotel a little "tatty". Bar prices extortionate, so went to bars and pubs in the town even in the rain. Nice setting perfect position for seeing town Needs decorating, bar prices too high

We were very impressed with the 16th Century building with the beams etc.and the location was perfect for the theatre, town and river. The Swimming pool was a very good size to swim in. Breakfast and our evening meal were very good. The only thing was the price of wine beer etc. We didn't drink in the lovely lounge bar as the prices were very high and therefore we walked up to the town bars instead of drinking in the hotel. We would normally have had a night cap in the hotel. If the prices were lower you would get more people in the lounge bar in the evening.
