Bed slightly uncomfortable
Excellent overall superb staff and location
Location, comfort, food & facilities were excellent, but best of all was the quality of the customer service from all staff
It is now an Amba Hotel, it used to be Guoman when I first stayed here 5 years ago. With Guoman it used to be a top luxury hotel.Simply amazing. The rooms where very spacious as I remember. Now, with Amba they remodeled it, turning it into just another expensive average hotel. Terribly dissapointed. The hotel is not bad, it's just average, but not what it used to be.
welcoming staff position of hotel attention to every small detail to make the stay wonderful welcome drink free minibar large TV free Wi Fi great breakfast All the staff helped to make our celebratory weekend a great success sparkling wine , cake and hand written card in our room as a surprise
Location meant easy access to restaurants, theatres, bars, tourist attractions, shopping and public transport.
This is an excellent hotel in an ideal location for all the sites of London. The interior of the hotel was very good and although only stayed in a standard room was good cant wait to stay in one of the deluxe rooms
People make the difference, very friendly and accommodating staff.
The hotel is so nice, comfortable and welcoming that you start expecting the moon: a sauna to go with the gym?
The hotel definitely has grandeur yet is very welcoming. It is located dead centre. The reception brings a smile to your face. And the rooms are very, very comfortable, with free speedy WiFi, smart tv, iPads, a Nespresso coffee maker etc.
The bed had a mattress topper but was still too hard for me (like so many hotels) and, as they had installed a massive bed, the duvet did not cover both of us as it was too small for the bed. My partner also whacked his head on the standard lamp on the way to the loo in the middle of the night.
There is a friendly greeting every time you pass reception and the rooms are beautiful, newly decorated and with state of the art fittings. A very good breakfast - buffet style but with good service when it comes to removing used plates, bringing toast and hot drinks. And if you stay on the upper floors, very quiet.
My only criticism is that with a room over £200 per night it should include breakfast
Everything was good, so it should be at prices
Everything was beautiful and perfect! The people, the room, the bathroom, the breakfast, the wifi, the location. It's a great hotel, we recommend this hotel and will come back again! Special Thanks for the staff.
There was nothing not to like
A all round super stay at the amba With great friendly staff, a credit to there profession , thankyou
The most striking first impression is the engaging and helpful friendly nature of all the staff throughout the hotel. Excellent location and facilities. Rooms with a decent hairdryer, lots of power sockets (unusual in hotels!) sumptous towels and Hypnos beds to ensure a perfect night's sleep. Will certainly return!
They gave guests Easter chocolate
Almost nothing, TV channels were limited.
The welcoming and happy faces of the reception and concierge staff specially Aura and Irene, fantastic location close to every needed public transport and many attractions.
Couple of drunkards shouting downstairs at 2am one night. But it's not the hotel's fault. It's the drunkards'.
1. Location: Just steps away from Trafalgar Square and right next to an entrance / exit of Charing Cross tube station. Walkable to Leicester Square, Covent Garden and even Westminster Abbey / Houses of Parliament if up to it. Taxi stand right next to the hotel in front of the Tube entrance / exit so you don't need to drag your luggage around when cabbing it to the airport. 2. Service: Very good. Staff always greets you with a smile when leaving or coming into the hotel. Plus, a staff called me up prior to my stay to ascertain any special requests. I asked for an early morning check-in and while they could not guarantee it (very normal), they said they would they try their best. Upon checking in, they got me the early check-in! (Plus offered juice and water at check-in). 3. Amenities: ipad, complimentary mini-bar (granola bar, still and sparkling mineral water, coke, chocolate, chips, milk and nespresso). Fantastic! 4. Rooms: Good size and well-designed so that it feels larger than it actually is. 5. Decor: Love the Victorian feel!
the lift on this visit only one working and the other one had flickering lights Witch gave me a head ache
The staff are lovely, the place is lovely, And the compermentry fridge in the room is a lovely touch and ambassador lounge.
Service was excellent if you like being called "Sir" all the time. Very helpful - bit too much for me. Although everything is very posh, at the end of the day it didn't give much more than a Premier Inn does, at a cheaper price.
Hotel is just above Charing Cross station. Wi-fi was free and very fast. Bed was luxurious, Nespresso machine was nice, plus free IPad in room to use would have been good for some.
Staff were welcoming, room was spatious and comfortable and location was excellent.
Cold in public areas. Windows locked- no chance to open. Soundproofing with the corridor could be better.
Great location and very helpful and friendly staff. Good restaurant and room service. Good wi-fi everywhere.
-location -friendly staff -room size/cleanliness -comfy bed -free wifi - nice decor
No Real Ale/Bitter on tap in the bar
we stayed in this hotel to go to the theatre as a belated xmas gift and this hotel was perfect, straight of the tube and hotel was there. Very clean
