The staff are lovley and friendly ,the location and veiews are amazing ,rooms and the spa areas are clean and welcoming ,we have booked our wedding here
The rooms could be a little cooler
A lot to like about this boutique style hotel .location .cleanliness.attention to detail. difficult to asses staff performance as as far as we could see there was hardly any other guests. What i would say is that the on duty staff were very helpful and i felt had i needed anything they would have been happy to assist . very impressed with spa facilities ,cleanliness i would rate very highly both in spa and rooms. I would defin itely recommend to anyone who likes a quiet environment to use this hotel.
Taking into acc ount it was off season if you are open for guests arrangements should be made to ensure guests are informed of basic things like hot water needing to be run for long time and that heating is not on and that blankets are available. breakfast overpriced otherwise would have stayed ...but£ 14.00 for full english ?? the only other slight critism is that swimming pool is easily visible from roadside maybe some privacy to bottom win dows so view of sea is not impaired.
Quiet location, free car parking, nice swimming pool, friendly staff.
Only roadside parking, dingy reception area doesnt do the hotel justice. Only a small double bed.
Room was clean and tidy and thoroughly enjoyed the spa and pool.
friendly staff, nice breakfast comfortable bed good bath
drinks prices were expensive
Location. Food good apart from breakfast.
En suite was appalling. The shower door hit the toilet making access very difficult. The shower tray was badly stained. The shower was so small I had difficulty turning round in it. breakfast was a shambles had to wait ten minutes for bacon and eggs to arrive. Not good having paid 13.95
Great location. Helpful and friendly staff.
We had to switch rooms as our first was noisy and had no WiFi. The hotel were very happy for us to switch the room and were helpful. Dated bathrooms but very clean!
Spa is small and can be seen into from the street. But the therapists and staff are helpful and pleasant and can't do enough for you.
You can't check in your room until 3pm! And wifi codes were not easily accessible.
spa treatments food easy to get to value for money friendly staff
Room was tired. The desk & bedside table was held together with masking tape, the fittings in the bathroom had gone rusty & the toilet seat was yellow. It just didn't feel worth the money we'd paid.
Great hotel in a fabulous location overlooking the sea. The Spa is fantastic.
The executive double was a good room with a massive bed but the bathroom was in desperate need of an upgrade and didn't match the quality of the rest of the room. The hotel charge ridiculous prices for food and drink ie 3.95 for a small bottle of Peroni and if you want a full English breakfast as room service it's 20.00 per person!!
nothing! didnt realise scarborough was so run down.
smoking on the front steps doors open and the smoke came in the dining room the bar and travelled up the stairs. people also sat drinking cider out of bottles on the steps, not something you want to be greeted with as you arrive to a so called 4* hotel. The room was suppose to be a superiour one the bathroom was dirty and the sink was smashed tiles and bath panel was also broken black dirt marks on the grouting, my daughter stayed aswell her room was just as bad and the bedding had black mud stains along the side we arrived late and checked in dropped our bags and went for a meal when we came back the reception was not open so we were stuck and had to make do! we will never return, the noise of floor boards and beds were terrible. the zen garden was suppose to be a place of peace but it was full of afternoon tea pots that were finally cleared late the morning after. disgusting!
Not a lot although it was clean
The whole hotel was too hot, I think as a result of the spa in the basement. Room was too expensive for the facility and location. Couldn't get a seat or drink in the bar as there was a wedding in there
The staff were most helpful and friendly. The dining area was very pleasant with good views of the sea.the breakfasts offered a good choice of food. The plus side in the bathroom was the provision of thick fluffy towels.
The reception area was most unattractive . The lift, although functional was not nice to ride in and you wondered if it would reach its destination . The bedroom was functional but the bathroom left much to be desired with an enormous crack in the mirror (do you really want to see yourself sitting on the loo!) one of the handles on the bath had been stuck back on and was not reliable for use. The carpets need ripping up and everywhere need a good lick of paint.
Everything room was luvely food was luvely n hotel itself in a lovely spot looking over sea
Staff in bar were very good as were cocktails
Checked rate included breakfast. Was told didn't. When showed e mail no apology and blamed on booking.com. Bed very small and uncomfortable as was bathroom.
Great position. Good food friendly helpful staff.
Relaxation room was awesome including a massage chair. The pool, saunas and zen garden were also lovely.
I felt the menu was a little over-priced for food and treatments were unaffordable for us.
Hotel location and views
Having paid £706 for 4 nights B&B We were told that we must pay another £40 for English breakfast. We have stayed there several occasions before but never again.
The location and views over the sea. The friendly atmosphere and warm welcome
The food in the restaurant is delicious but was fully booked for our stay. There was the option to eat in the bar but we declined this.
Loved the free use of the pool and sauna. Would stay here again, I got a free upgrade with sea view.
The staff were friendly and the location was good.
The view outside was of bird mess with pigeons resting on the ledge outside and started cooing at first light along with the generators which were running from the early hours. The windows were covered in bird mess and the décor was plain and very dull.
the bedroom in general
Nice and friendly staff
Bed was awfully loud! Had to run around in the shower to get wet!
Brilliant location, friendly helpful staff. Good swimming pool and spa facilities.
Some of the double bedrooms are very small and the decor is rather drab and dull.
