Good breakfast, parking is OK. Easy to get out of town via Maryhill road. Helpful staff. Nice eating locations in five mins walk.
Rooms showing their age. Breakfast smells in the morning. Acorn hotel is run by same group, and a better location at center.
Because I was travelling with a suitcase I found that going up a flight of steps was difficult.... a lift would have been helpful !!!
Well placed for the West End yet quiet location. It's nice not to be in an anonymous brand. Helpful staff, breakfast was fine & you can sleep with the window open.
Bathroom tatty - needs updating although clean enough.
Cold tap hard to turn on.
Booked with breakfast in price but Charged us extra for my wife's breakfast blaming booking .com web site not being clear
Great location next to the Botanic Gardens and only a few minutes from the centre of the west end and the subway. Helpful staff.
Rooms on the small side.
Convenient for attractions and transport.
spacious room clean and well kept excellent breakfast
Near public transportation, restaurants and shopping. Ample breakfast which was hot and fresh.
Skimpy towels, small shower. When asked to give a 20 euro deposit for safe key which was never given and then telling us they returned our 20 euro deposit which we never received by us.
Toilet made a noise the whole night. As did the fridge. Room was cold. Bed wasn't the most comfortable
Good breakfast, nice staff.
Our twin room was badly layed out . Hardly any room to walk round the beds, very very crampt ..Carpet in lots of places very dusty. The shower cubical so small , can't bend down to clean your feet. Only one towel each to do everything
friendly staff,clean and lovely building
Food brilliant staff very friendly
Room floor was slanted lying on bed head was lower than feet head, toilet seat loose did not fit properly hot water was scorching hot instantly no warning
Quiet location. Near Byres Road amenities and the Botanical Gardens. SPT tube station 5 mins walk. Reasonable breakfast and room facilities good in apartments.
Poor access road to car park.
Although we only stayed for one night, we found the Hotel to be in just the right location for exploring that part of Glasgow, made all the better by the good September weather....
being on the third floor.....
A must to stay here, excellent location right near the West End where there are lots of cafes and restaurants. Lovely clean rooms, friendly staff, plenty of tea and coffee in room and all the little extras and an excellent breakfast. Will definately stay there again
I liked the big clean room, the good breakfast and the location.
Bed was a little bit hard.
Was in Glasgow for a hen weekend and just needed somewhere to sleep. I was extremely pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of my room. It was a small single room but it was light, airy and spotless.
The single room I was in was very small so i was glad I wasn't spending any length of time in the room
All the staff were very friendly and helpful. My single room was more than adequate & very clean. Plenty of tea/coffee etc, flat screen TV and lots of hot water in the en-suite shower. Excellent choices for breakfast, well cooked to your preference.
There is nothing to dislike it provides everything one could require from this class of hotel.
- cleanliness - fridge and coffee/tea making facilities in the room - very nice and helpful staff - calm and pleasant location near Botanic gardens - at walking distance to University of Glasgow Campus and Byres Street with plenty of restaurants and shops
- no fresh fruits or vegetables for breakfast - the smell of bacon, sausages and eggs being cooked/fried at 7.30 am in my room and actually everywhere in the hotel
Staff, location, cleanliness
Situated in a quiet area but very close to shops and public transport. Close to city centre. Ideal for someone travelling without a car.
Parking looked to be at a premium but as I didn't come by car I didn't investigate the parking, I would need to check that more closely if using a car next time.
Ideal location for west end, next botanic gardens but on very quiet rd. Our room was large and recently decorated, comfy bed, lovely shower. Patio doors onto a sunny courtyard with tables and chairs. Private car park at rear but also free street parking at front.
Great value and near to easy access to the city.
That it was central to local amenities, ie shops , restaurants and bars , also for buses , underground subway etc ,
