A pleasant, clean and comfortable hotel offering excellent value for money. Newly decorated and in a prime position next door to the botannic gardens. Ideal for the university. Very helpful and cheerful staff who helped me personally when I inadvertently left my mobile phone charger in the room and also responded quickly to minor requests relating to service.

Taps in the ensuite where too cold and too hot, woul have been nicer if there was more control over temperature or a mixed hot and cold tap Also cold tap didn't close fully and was very stiff to open

Quite a comfortable hotel with good facilities and friendly staff. Well located for the university. Reasonable price. Unfortunately there were some defects. Last summer my room had not been cleaned overnight, and this year my shower towel had not been changed, despite my leaving it in the shower as requested. It was difficult to tell if my room had been cleaned at all. And despite having ordered toast at the second breakfast, I got none! I got the impression that the one person serving at the desk and at breakfast simply had too much to do - she was very friendly and efficient otherwise

Very convenient for Byres Road and the west end, and on the door step of the botanic gardens The plumbing could be better, and in particular the shower temperature changed from scalding hot to cold on a whim.

I liked pretty well everything about the Ambassador except for the parking facilities, hard to find, virtually unmarked and difficult of access. The coffee machine provided a lukewarm beverage of uncertain content but I understand it is to be replaced. Special word of praise for Pam

Situated in a quiet part of the city Bar facilities were poor and there was no lounge area. The room (in the apartments next door) was small, cramped and not comfortable for lounging.

Fine big rooms and good cooked breakfast. Friendly welcome and goodbye. Rooms rather dated and support column in room in awkward position for getting in and out of bed on one side.

Great receptionist/cook/troubleshooter. Smiles, and very helpful. Room was nice - very clean - refrigerator to use. Very conveniently located for me. WiFi had some problems that made it frustrating.... But it was free, and it eventually worked.

The price was good and its location in the West end of Glasgow is great. The entire Hotel needs to be refurbished, fittings and fixtures worn out and dated. Particularly the bathroom, the shower was cramped and the water pressure and temperature fluctuated wildly. Bed was very uncomfortable.

“An excellent hotel close to public transport, but in a reasonably quiet location. Stayed Sun/Mon/Tues. My room was comfortable, excellent room facilities (tea/coffee/biscuits, trouser press, large flat screen tv. Good choice at breakfast, Chose to have evening meals there too, good food at reasonable prices. Staff were very friendly, compliments to the young waiter on duty in the restaurant, very welcoming. Will definitely visit again. ” John, Leeds |
