Quiet location within walking distance to West end shops/bars/cafes etc. Close by parking possible.
Nothing to dislike
Location Parking on street OK Flat screen TV Free Wifi
Staff on Reception not overly helpful and a bit sullen Room small but OK - could have been a bit cleaner. Electric shower very poor - no pressure and difficult to control temperature
Location is very good
Bathrooms (we stayed twice in two different rooms) needed small repairs like shower head not attached to wall, toilet seat underside broken, toilet paper holder broken.
Freshly cooked scrambled eggs
Comfortable beds, snug room and super comfy pillows. Breakfast was good too.
Room wasn't big, but we were only there for one night and the bed was great.
Great location, friendly staff, basically everything I needed.
Be advised the cab fare from Glasgow Airport to here is about 35 pounds. Can be a bit noisy at breakfast, and there really is no parking. But great walks all along the river and gardens.
Location of property in West End Fridge in room Cleanliness of room
Size of room small Ancient shower system, not fit for purpose Uncomfortable lumpy bed Temporary heating Needing refurbishment
Location was the important thing for me,as I was visiting family nearby, and wanted to be in the west end area(which is walking distance).
Not far from most things and the SECC. Warm and clean and comfy and good price. Nice breakfast and friendly helpful staff.
Nothing. But don't call Tommy's Taxis[ advertised by owner ] for a local trip ..not interested and grumpy with it.
It is a treat to stay in a lovely period building and enjoy the architectural features of a fine 19th century house. Bed was very comfortable, everything was clean, and the staff friendly and efficient.
Shower was rather stingy with the flow.
Room was akin to a draw on it's side, only 2.1m wide for single bed and dressing table. Rather cramped. Shower fittings falling of the shower wall. All in all, poor value for money
There was a refrigerator in the room , the quality of the cooked breakfast was good , it is away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, come and go as you please, supplied with front door key.
No bath, just a shower, smell of cooked breakfast in the morning in room, even though it was a bit early, condition of the road in the lane getting in to the car park.
Having to go outside to get to breakfast room.
situation and cleanliness
single bed uncomfortable. Duvet could have been thicker and cosier
Staff were friendly. Breakfast was good.
This is a hotel that suits business people perhaps, but not anyone having a holiday break. The bedroom was very tiny and basic, and there was no room to sit around in it. The hotel doesn't have a lounge or bar area. We would have hated to be there for more than the two nights we boooked.
The room was huge and it was great to have 2 armchairs and a coffee table. Breakfast was fantastic. I requested a lower ground room and this was noted and given to us.
Nothing. Everything was perfect and we will definitely stay there again....hopefully longer!!
Good nights sleep!
The hotel was extremely clean and that was about it really. Everything else was terribly disappointing for the money.
Cold greeting when we arrived, hardly any tv channels, not even the basic ones. Tired and tatty decor, shelf falling off in the bathroom, bad silicone work in the shower. The whole hotel was stinking of grease. Wasn't asked how my stay was, was just asked to hand over my key! Shocking considering the price.
We had a large apartment which slepped five . very good location for city shopping would stay again if in Glasgow
The spacious room, the fact that there was a table & 2 chairs so I could write my diary. Two easy chairs for comfort. The bathroom was so luxurious I felt so important. All in all it was a fantastic stay. This was my second time staying at the Hotel and I will be back again. Thanks to all the staff and I did leave a tip. God bless, :) xxx
There was nothing I didn't like!!!
Breakfast was good, staff very friendly.
Room in the loft with low ceiling, pillar next to bed- had to remember it was there getting out of bed in the dark!!
Our room (17) was tiny and needing updated, the shelf which the tv sat on had just been painted (as a rush job) with a "big wet paint sign", one of the lights didn't work, dirty marks all along valance sheet where things had been against it and not been changed.
Good breakfast, parking is OK. Easy to get out of town via Maryhill road. Helpful staff. Nice eating locations in five mins walk.
Rooms showing their age. Breakfast smells in the morning. Acorn hotel is run by same group, and a better location at center.
Because I was travelling with a suitcase I found that going up a flight of steps was difficult.... a lift would have been helpful !!!
Well placed for the West End yet quiet location. It's nice not to be in an anonymous brand. Helpful staff, breakfast was fine & you can sleep with the window open.
Bathroom tatty - needs updating although clean enough.
