Gill was great Lovely breakfast Lovely bedroom I couldn't praise Amber House more
The breakfast was very good, and well served.
There was no heating on.I am 88 years old it was so cold in the rooms.I could not get warm.I did ask about the heating but Fiona who was left in charge did not know anything about it.The owners were not there,so nothing could be done about it.I have complained and got a reduction in the price, which I have reluctantly paid.I would not recommend it in the cold weather unless they get some heating on.
Warm welcome and friendly owner. Excellent breakfast menu and very good quality food. Convenience of the location.
Shared bathroom and toilet. Layout and shape of the room rather awkward.
Gill is an excellent hostess who made every effort to make my stay comfortable. She was also very helpful answering any questions about where to eat etc.
the house is in desperate need a good clean, the décor is very tired.
Apart from the 2 mistakes made between the owner & booking.com it is a lovely guest house & if we need to book in this area again I'm sure we'll try & return
Booking.com managed to double book the room so alternative accomodation had to be arranged for one night in the middle of the stay. The owner failed to notice that we had booked a ground floor room for my disabled mum...she spent 2 nights having to go upstairs.
A very reasonable price with a friendly welcome. Hot chocolate was available at breakfast, rare in the UK.
The cooked breakfast, although of a good size and quality, was served on a cold plate in a cold room, so it cooled very quickly.
when we were shown our room. it was a room with separate bathroom depite our booking confirming a room with en suite facilities
We were visiting The National Memorial, so Amber House was ideal.
I understood the room was €40.00 per night but was charged €60.00 per night. Even so, it was good value and the breakfast was great.
Warm welcome and good breakfast although set up could be improved. Handy for National Memorial.
Expected double en-suite room. We had twin & separate bathroom, which we were assured would be just for us. Returning to bathroom after breakfast found it occupied by son of house.
Close to the NME which we were visiting, also a nice walk to the lovely village.
Wonderful breakfast using some homemade ingredients and eggs from prize winning hens. Thoughtful hospitality and comfortable rooms.
Made very welcome. Comfortable and clean room. Excellent breakfast and hardly any traffic noise despite being on a main road
Sat Nav found it difficult to find as the road runs parallel to the dual carriageway
Breakfast Helpful staff
Took some locating
The cooked part of breakfast was not very special and the place was scruffy.
breakfast excellent and charming hostess
the room was not ready when I arrived at 4.30. due to a misunderstanding about my arrival time and the number of guests expected! Proximity to A38 busy road.
The reception was friendly, the hostess made us feel welcome and at home and had time to explain everything to us. We were able to visit local sites and venues without getting lost and have a better understanding of our whereabouts The food was really good and well presented. The coffee was exceptional.
We found the room rather noisy at night, being so near the road.
Gill is a wonderful host making you feel welcome and comfortable from the moment you arrive. The choice of food for breakfast is vast and really delicious, she is a great cook, her home made bread is worth the visit alone! We stayed for two nights and would highly recommend it.
The owner was friendly and helpful and she also cooked a very nice breakfast.
Gill was very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area which enhanced our stay
The total atmosphere reminded us of home from home. Gill made us more than welcome. We got on very well with her.
The weather was very warm and there was obviously a lot of traffic noise as we had the windows open. This did not disturb our sleep.
to close to the A38. the description on your e mail said we had been allocated a Twin or double as required. It was described as a garden room on the ground floor. We were upstairs and with an open window. the a38 was deafening
The wonderful, warm welcome and all the help with road maps and knowledge of the area. We also had a super array of toiletries to choose from in our bathroom.
Friendly owner & staff made us very welcome. Showed us the best way to visit Black Country Museum on the Saturday and where to get good food in the evenings. Would recommend to friends & family.
