The Amberley Inn is in a great location, our room was clean and spacious and the staff were friendly. Great breakfast with good local produce.
Dinner was a disappointment, menu lacked imagination and dishes needed sauces to make them complete. Room not serviced and no real apology, had to ask for reduction from final bill.
Excellent food, warm welcome
Room in annex a little small but OK for one night. Would prefer rooms in main hotel which we understand are bigger but perfectly OK for one night.
Beautufully positioned hotel, ideal for our break. Large bedroom, double aspect. Good food, the ambiance was excellent. The place was clean and well looked after.
Shower could have been better
Efficient and friendly staff.Very good food.
Our room was a bit disappointing especially the bathroom - difficult for the elderly to shower by stepping into the bath.
Tastefully refurbished, good food
Warm welcome by owners Choice of sitting and eating areas Comfortable bedroom Genuinely dog-friendly Outstanding english breakfast Local beers Friendly local staff Great value for money
Truly, nothing to dislike. Just be aware that a minor road runs between the front door and most of the parking spaces - not a noise issue, but at "rush hour" traffic can be quite fast, and might disconcert people unsteady on their feet or with heavy bags.
We stayed in room 2, a large luxurious room, with the 4 poster bed and with dual aspect windows over the valley. The room was spotlessly clean as was the large bathroom. The bed was extremely comfortable and loved the marshmallow duvet, the joys of luxury. The breakfast was fantastic, fresh cooked with local ingredients as was the evening meal with a variety on the menu. The area is amazing, fantastic views and walks, loved the 'wild' free range cows on the common. Would most definitely come here again.
Nothing, everything was perfect
The owners, the rooms, the food
Not being able to open the front window of our room
Warm cosy atmosphere with good menu and very enjoyable food .
Beutiful area, lovely food, very enjoyable couple of days.
couldn't do much walking, too hilly as I have MS.
Excellent location for a get away. The room was clean and tidy. The bar was nice with a couple of games to play
Had to park the car across the road on the grass as all the spaces were taken.
Lovely view from the room, great food, friendly efficient staff.
A good inn with high quality food and service. We really enjoyed our stay there even though it was short.
It wasn't a problem for us, but the premium room we stayed in might benefit from a small wardrobe Perhaps a few printed local walks might be useful too for guests to use
Breakfast was excellent. The room was lovely. The staff were friendly. Beautiful location.
The walls were a bit thin meaning we could hear next door's TV, people talking and someone snoring in the middle of the night!
The room was beautiful. We paid extra for an upgraded room and got room 12 at the front of the hotel. It was spotlessly clean and the bathroom was lovely and very spacious.
The only problem was that we had to leave at 7.30 and breakfast didn't start till 8.30
Great location, incredible views.Ultra comfortable beds.Best of all the food! Stow fords battered haddock is just perfect !
Relaxed and friendly Great food Log fire Super clean bathroom Interesting location Easy parking Great bed
Good combination of free house for locals and inn for cotswold tourists. Comfortable in all aspects. Staff and owners quite friendly and engaging.
Staff service - friendly and helpful, spotlessly clean everywhere, lovely location, and tasty breakfast with good range of choice
Narrow choice of vegetarian evening meal options. The later breakfast time at weekends.
Nice old bar area.
Room was 'fusty' and smelt stale. Bathroom tiny, no bath & window pane has been broken quite a while. Some love and attention required to earn 4 stars...
The restrant was reeally friendly for family with small children. The dishes also tested good as well. I really apprecite a hotel staff to sent me something I left in my room.
Room and furnishings excellent. Very good food. Very helpful staff.
Lovely, quiet location. A friendly, welcoming and comfortable Inn. Excellent staff. Excellent food and a wide range of menu options. Arrangements for a family dinner party for 18 people from various parts of the England, Eire and overseas were exactly as requested. Three other family members stayed overnight and share these comments. As a child, many years ago, I was brought up not far from this location and know several local hotels and Inns. I have stayed at the Amberley Inn twice in recent times and will do so again despite the long journey from the north of England.
Only one thing: A light over the mirror above the washbasin in the room we occupied would be an improvement .
Good and friendly staff if not a little laid back! Breakfast very nice but no fresh fruit on the third morning of our stay we also had to search for the marmalade. We had dinner on the first night and the food was good. We enjoyed our stay at The Amberley and would certainly return to this lovely part of the country.
The noise of the traffic early in the morning hotel very close to the road.
