Helpful, friendly staff. Good service. Cosy atmosphere. When I booked I had arranged to meet two other people for a special birthday meal. It was not made clear then, or when we arrived, that the restaurant was full and that we would have to eat in the bar. As it turned out, the bar was pleasant enough, but I think the restaurant arrangements could be explained fully.

Lovely staff, very helpful. Good restaurant and comfortable bar serving local ales. Breakfast was fantastic and it is an easy drive to all Cotswold villages. A wonderful over the English country side from the large stone windows, breathtaking! Hand held shower with no where to attach, although apparently rooms are being upgraded.

Friendly, relaxed, small but fine room except for low ceilings; good food. Low ceiling in the top bedroom (but I am quite tall). I thought the wine was fully priced.

Views were stunning. Bed linen and towels were lovely - very clean and soft. Desk staff friendly and we were able to check in early which made our day much easier. Although the intererior could be gorgeous, it was in need of some tlc - photos a little misleading Our bedroom had wallpaper issues, ie, bulging away from the walls, decor was tired. A proper enclosed shower, even if over the bath, would have been a great addition - had shower attachment but not quite the same! Breakfast order not taken correctly resulting in 2 eating, then waiting for third - burnt mushrooms - yuk! Attention to detail - sugar crystals on table all stuck together, glass jug with apple juice chipped, expected better.

The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. We were able to use the bar/lounge as a base for our daughter and children to join us during the day. My elderly mother was able to leave her motorised scooter under cover.I Enjoyed the artwork on display. We were unable to lock our ill fitting room door. There were some lights not working in both rooms. One particularly small room had no wardrobe. There seemed to be a shortage of kitchen staff for the breakfasts.

The staff were very attentive and kind, the breakfast was delicious and the room was clean and comfortable. The room was a little cold, but it was freezing outside, also there was an annoying red flashing light on the smoke detector in our room, it probably wouldn't have annoyed most people though!

Booked a fabulous premier room at the front of the hotel, complete with very comfortable four poster bed. Enjoyed sitting in front of cosy log fires on a cold night. Had a great steak in the bar, really enjoyed my stay until! Unfortunately no one was around at 8.00am for breakfast. The manager eventually turned up and was very apologetic. Breakfast eventually served at 8.55am, the manager removed the breakfast charge from the bill. All in all though, I would stay here again if in the area because it is a rather nice place.

Very friendly Staff who went out of their way to provide us with good accommodation, twin for us and a single (daughter) double bed. Rooms in the cottage had just been redecorate, although not completely finished where excellent. Food in the evening plus breakfast was superb.

Bed was comfortable and the views were good. Brakfast was good. Fire in one bar smoked. Room was being worked on when we arrived and the heating clock was out. No glasses or cups in room due to last minute preparation. Discount was offered on leaving. Will be good when sorted.

Everything from a warm friendly welcome to the scenery, veiws of the Cotswolds were simply stunning. Would recommenda visit to the town of Nailsworth which is a short drive away. There is nothing not to like about the Amberley Inn, we had a great time and will be going back.

Friendly helpful staff. Simple but comfortable room, with all I needed. Food was good and real ale. Not really a criticism as there was a hand held shower attachment in the bath but a shower you could stand under would have been nice.
