Cost (would have been over £200 to stay in Manchester and the tram takes about 10 mins or so to get in, so no contest), location near Metrolink, comfortable bed, loads of hot water, warm room, friendly staff. It was a basic room but for the price it was better than expected.
Plug did not fit in sink (so shaving was a bit more awkward) and the person who was banging on doors early on sunday morning
No toilet paper in the room. Asked @reception for some was told they would bring some up. Never got any except for a tiny bit that the receptionist found under the desk!!Restaurant closed on a Saturday night. Could only have bar food between 6.30pm & 8 pm because the chef was going to church!! No breakfast was included even when the room cost £80 a night. Dated and tired hotel & very over priced
Good location, free parking, spacious rooms and bathrooms
Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable bed with thick duvet. Shower was hot and powerful. Great as a place to crash with my mate on a boozy weekend.
It's all just a bit tatty. It seemed like a hostel for the homeless when walking through the maze of corridors. The worst thing was the smell of cigarette smoke that could not be escaped. There's no way the wife would stay there!
Close enough to Manchester, availability, has parking and price
We didn't spend much time at the hotel but nothing stood out as bad
* Shower head was held onto the wall with electrical insulation tape. * Towels had yellow and black marks all over them - Receptionist said some stains don't come out in the was (Throw them away then?!) * Receptionist and a member of bar staff were talking about our complaints in the main hallway (twice!) even after we caught them the first time. * Loud shouting outside the hotel until early hours of the morning * Bed wasn't made up, with hair in the sheets and more
DATED DECORE OLD AND TIRED LOOKING
This hotel was tired and is in desperate need of refurbishment.
Think breakfast should be included in price £10a bit expensive i think
The bar made was very helpful
The location the evening receptionist was a bit snooty not very welcoming a lot of banging of doors the beds weren't very comfortable
Not fit for purpose
Everything OK, Bar and reception staff friendly and efficient. Room basic but comfortable.
Not very well lite, easy to pass on the main road.
Toilet seat was broken, Bath panel had multiple cracks Shower pressure was very weak
I LIKE EVERYTHING ABOUT THE AMBLEHURST ESPECIALLY THE BATHROOM AND I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO MY FRIENDS OR ANYONE WHO ASKED WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE TO STAY IN SALE?
Noise all night
Exterior looked welcoming. Very Spacious Lobby and Bar Areas. Very Clean Rooms.
My Card Number and CVV number were taken at reception and written down which I found alarming! They explained that it was in case of damages. I've never had my CVV number kept at all and my bank are still very concerned. With all the numbers on my card nothing is preventing someone from using my card or cloning it! Prevented me from getting a good night's sleep in this hotel desperately in need of refurbishment. Dated interior. Not double glazed. Broken window latches, meaning anyone could have climbed onto the van parked directly below my window and let themselves in! TV was too small and about 12 feet away so couldn't watch it unless I was sitting at the table it was on. The Shower was designed for people under 5'4 as I'm 5'10 and had to squat underneath it to Shower. I could go on.
The Amblehurst is a rambling old hotel; a bit shabby round the edges with plenty of character. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the bar is reasonably priced and there's plenty of parking. The dining room is worth a look even if you're not dining, for the stately decor. Other plus points are friendly staff, it's on a main bus route and there are a couple of good local restaurants if you don't fancy dining in.
The wi-fi has to be paid for. It's not dear, but when you can get it free in many places including on some public transport it seems a bit old fashioned. I'm not a fan of synthetic pillows, but that's just my own preference.
Convenient, good parking. Good bar
Room was hot and windows did not open.
Location Price Free parking
Wifi was good
Walls a bit thin if you get my drift..
The bed was fairly comfy
They had smoking rooms (illegal) They didn't have an iron All we could hear was loads of arguments and noise all night, it was like living on the bottom floor of a tower block The pictures did not represent the hotel well at all which also made it hard for us to find it It was definitely not a 3 star hotel and definitely was not worth £50 to stay there
Nothing, the day we checked out, the place is horrible worst hotel ever stoped,
The staff did not care, down in the celler where we were, was full of single parent mothers, all taking to each other for hours, durring the night 3.30am more come. Rubbish in the corridor just awful. Can't believe booking . Com use that hotel, never use that hotel again, never ever.
