Best Western Ambleside Salutation Hotel

This was the first time we had stayed at this hotel .We had super time .The food was good the staff were really helpful and the leisure facilities were spot on .I had read some reviews that said the only problem was the rooms were small so we booked a clubroom and it was worth the extra money .Cant wait to go back and would thoruoghly reccommend this hotel.

Pleasant staff, lovely pool, sauna and changing facilities. The decor - lounge & dining room was attractive & furnishings comfortable. Our meal was enjoyable.

The bedroom and bathroom were rather cramped. The silicone seal around the bath/showere needed cleaning / replacing-it was black in parts. We felt the rate we paid was overpriced for the standard of accomodation we had.

Good location in centre of Ambleside. Excellent spa / gym facilities.

The location, even though parking was difficult at times. The Hotel is pleasing inside, with well designed public rooms. Hotel staff were very pleasant. On a B & B stay, the breakfasts were satisfactory, but did find that the cooked meals were brought out before the cereals/fruit had been finished (good selection of cereals, fruit, yoghurts etc). This happened to other people too.

1. Could not use the swimming area because the air heat was far too hot and I found it difficult to breathe - not a problem I normally encounter.2. The room was too hot, had to open the window even though it was raining and turn the radiator off. 3. The bed was very hard and the covers heavy, so we did not have a comfortable nights' sleep at all. Perhaps we were just unlucky to have this particular room (215). The receptionist and she explained that the beds were fairly new. 4. Room was badly planned with only one half of the wardrobe being easily accessible. They should have placed it on the opposite wall. The TV obliterated the nice picture on the wall. 5.The hotel could save a fortune by turning the heat down a degree or so.

The leisure centre facilities were very good. We had a very relaxing 2 days. The staff were all very attentive.

Everyone was really helpful,especially in letting me have breakfast in 2 stages as I was running in the Langdale marathon. Also kindly let me use leisure centre for a shower after marathon even though we had already checked out. It made my day so much less stressful,

Car parking quite tight! but just one of those things and we did get in and out without damaging any other cars.

The staff were very hospitable and accomodating with my requests due to my late arrival and early exit the next day. The room was very comfortable, clean and tidy, as was the hotel itself.

I enjoyed the spa facilities and the food and service was good and friendly staff.

The food & accomodation at the hotel were excellent, as was the swimming pool & sauna.

Nice warm & relaxing. Obviously within easy reach of the shops & bars. central point to visit other parts of the Lakes. Easy to get too.

No, but entrance to car part a bit tight to drive in ?
