The hotel was located right at the pier and very central. Our room was above the hotel bar and was very loud. When I went to the reception to ask how long the music was on I was told until on. At the end it was turned off at 4.30am. The room was very nice, but there was no way to sleep with this noise. |

Hotel was close to all night spots, breakfast was fine, staff were friendly, near to all shops and restaurants. the bedrooms i stayed in was very dated for the amount paid. Paid two hundred pounds for room on side street, under impression that that was price for sea view rooms. |

decor, size of room - nice and big. Staff were nice. they were not geared up for my feather allergy so I ended up having to sleep with a rolled-up towel and two fleece throws instead of proper bedding (n.b. I didn't declare my allergy until I checked in but I would still expect that this would be accommodated for). There was a lot of noise outside the hotel until the early hours of the morning - not the hotel's fault, just a feature of the location on the day that I was visited (early October) |

The bar area had a nice relaxing atmosphere in the evening. The bathroom had a joke of a shower which left the hotel bathroom/ toilet floor wet and quite dangerous!!? no shower curtain or seperate space to eliminate an accident? Overall though the bathroom was generally filthy so made the stay a bit unpleasant although a reasonable nice room and comfortable bed. |

The staff are polite, friendly and helpful. Its proximity to the beach and city center is another reason for choosing this hotel. |

When we expressed out concerns the staff did the correct thing and it was greatly accepted. On a Saturday the music under the room area was going very loud until 5 am and we only got 2 hours sleep. At 70 it was poor based on what we expected. |

We selected The Amsterdam for a 2 day bank holiday break in our favourite town away from home. Main choice was the central location and sea views. After parking the car (dont believe the hype about parking being a problem).we hopped on the electric train to Brighton Marina as the station is located across the road from the hotel - well handy for a boozy lunch. Great open air "Mermaid Market" at the marina. Bighton town has a fantasic mix of local and high street shops and The Amsterdam is within walking distance of everything you could wish to visit. The staff could not have been more accomodating and even small requests were not considered to be an interuption from their normal day to day routines. The continental breakfast was fantastic. Being picky....hand towels as well as bath sheets would have been useful.Cant fault the hotel - can fault the street noise. We knew this was on the main road but wanted the sea views. If you want quiet dont book a sea view room. Your choice!!! |

The hotel is in an excellent location very close to the pier and shops. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast included in the price was very good. Parking was easy, a £5 pass bought from hotel reception gives 24 hours street parking very nearby. The hotel is also very gay/transgender friendly, and if you want to get away from screaming kids this is great - no children allowed. Only minor negative things - the hotel rooms are not air conditioned, so in Summer it's hot n sticky. The rooms have walk-in shower rooms for en-suites, so there is no shower door. The down side to this is that water splashes all over the en-suite floor and you get your own mini lake at times because (in our room at least) the floor gradient for drainage wasn't so good. Also for some reason in mid-summer our bed had a TOG 13 quilt... hot! However at this price I guess you get what you pay for, and overall it's pretty good. |

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was great and was in a fantastic location, about 100 metres from the pier. the window was difficult to keep open, so it did get a bit hot at times. |
