Food was fantastic And so were the staff Highly recommend
The Tormaukin somehow makes your room, food and reception feel you are as at home as a cozy cottage but with top quality standards in every respect. It helped that the sunny frosty snow meant easy winter walking as if we were far more remote.
One of the best cooked breakfast I've ever had in an hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The beer was good to!
I set the alarm clock and when it went off both my wife and I jumped out of bed. We thought it was the fire alarm. It didn't bother us too much as we're only in our seventies but an old person might have had a problem!
Bed and room very comfy, clean and tidy, excellent value for money, breakfast choice is far more than most places I've stayed. A very cosy Hotel to stay at.
Guest information needs updated, I think the booklet in our room came from inside the hotel ( we stayed in the stable block) so all the information was wrong. This comment is more for the hotel rather than a dislike...
We loved the welcome, food - both dinner and breakfast excellent and the staff are great
The beds aren't so comfortable but we still love the place!
Fantastic evening meal. Highly recommended. Restaurant full in Jan. Staff & management very helpful and attended to our minor query re people smoking outside our son's bedroom window at night. We were in rooms 7 & 8, beside the back door, adjoining rooms great for parents & a teenage son. Not the Ritz, but good atmosphere and "log fires in the bar".
People smoking outside my teenage son's bedroom window.
Great place to chill out with plenty walking and sightseeing in the area. Would return.
The only negative was they tried to overcharge me when I payed the bill on checkout.
From the moment we walked in until the moment we left, our stay was utterly superb. The staff are friendly, accommodating and very good at creating a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. This was our second visit and can honestly say that it was the best Hogmany we have ever had. The food is delicious and plentiful. Breakfast was equally good. All in all, a fantastic trip.
Friendly efficient staff. Beautiful food. Cosy fires. Lovely stay.
Bedroom quite small. Basic, very small shower room.
The staff were willing to accommodate our small appetites and serve one meal for two. Also, we forgot a pair of boots in the room when leaving. A staff member found them just in time and ran out to give them to us.
The cold tap on the bath in room 8 was very hard to turn on.
Small bed not comfortable
Last visited about 1970. The Inn still has that highland buzz with the winter fires and warm welcome from Arron. What a pleasant experience on a cold winters evening to be offered, by a charming young man, the best selection of wholesome fare with a Highland Game twist that was a pleasure to the discerning palate. We were both impressed with the level of service and that Arron remembered our names and thus personalised a memorable stay. We will definitely return. Dr. M.H Seaman and Mr D.B. Seaman.
Parking...adequate but inconvenient.
staff, food, room, easy drive from home and the location if the weather had been kinder.
I ate too much.
Two twin beds zipped together
the staff were very helpful and friendly
the bathroom. very small !
the atmosphere , good vibe
Had expect better food, was not bad but we eat in a week Scotland better in simular places.
Tormaukin is a very successful combination of an old coaching inn, with it's cosy niches, and an up-market restaurant. The log fires and "real ales" are a big plus. The extension to the dining room gives the flexibility of guests enjoying the "original" dining room with the ability to cater for increased numbers, whilst enabling guests not to feel "lost" in one large room if the hotel is quiet. It has attracted a nice combination of clients - locals, golfers, walkers and people just wanting to "get away from it all". The staff were, without exception, friendly and helpful.
Our second stay at this wonderful hotel. Lovely room the food is superb and the staff friendly and helpful.
The food was excellent - we had breakfast and dinner. The room was very good and well appointed. The staff were excellent with a helpful attitude.
Bedroom lovely Restaurant + food very good Staff in restaurant very attentive Breakast very good
Bar closed by staff at regular closing time even though we were residents
From the moment we stepped into the hotel we had what we could only describe as VIP service. We were treated so wonderfully by the staff. The food was absolutely fantastic. The ambience was brilliant. The only downside was that we found the bed to be uncomfortable. But everything else, including the breakfast, was first class. Thank you. Can't wait to go back in December.
The bed. Two singles pushed together so there was a seam down the centre of the bed.
stayed in august room 5 lovely room comfy bed shower,
booked 2 rooms 5,and 6 as we had family visiting in august when we arrived they double booked room 5 gave us room 11,nice room no shower, brick hard bed right over the bar which was very noisy not happy as we booked 3 months in advance
The whole ambiance of the hotels location, secluded in glen Devon but only 30 mins from Perth, Stirling or Dunfermline. Less than an hour to the Royal Palace of Scone, and the famous Trossachs & Queen Elisabeth forest park.
Enjoyed every bit of our stay.
Excellent menu wonderfull food .
could not find any fault with this great place to stay
The staff were excellent, food always varied & perfectly cooked. The room was cleaned daily & tea, coffee, toiletries replenished when needed.
