The lady who greeted us was friendly but she told us that we were checking in early (even though we were not).
The room was dirty. The shared bathroom had used mugs, razor and a toothbrush in. The bath and toilet were not clean.
room is not clean no internet except next to the reception
The location was 3 miles outside Royal Tunbridge Wells and this was not made clear on the booking form. My bicycle had to be stored outside with easy access from the front of the property. Rooms and their furniture were of poor quality.
The one nights sleep out of three. Going home.
The kitchen. The reception cubicle. The dirty windows. The intermittent tv.
Comfortable room. Good pub nearby for dinner
Shower hard to work. No hot water for a long time. Breakfast was set for only one of us so we had to share the utensils!
Booking has given us a VERY BAD surprise . it seems obvious that you do not know the accomodation where you offer reservation. As the hotel has the garantee to charge us, the consumer has no power to defend himself. difficult to find the address (you do not note the number of the street )
Under refurbishment - half done! Amateurish refurbishment and management. Helped ourselves to breakfast in the kitchen! Should not be on the Booking .com site.
- Owner was not there, did everything by intercom. - Toilet in room was blocked, would not flush. - Shower in Bedroom, not in bathroom. - Very low level of breakfast food.
Room cost £40 a night which is very good value if you just want to rest your head over night. Clean with good bathroom
At £40 a night, nothing to complain about
Coffee + tea making facilities; free parking;
The carpet was filthy; their card machine wasn't working so we had to go to get cash; dirty pillowcase;
The Lodge seems to be managed from a remote location. When I arrived I wanted to enquire if there was a shed for our bicycles. found a phone number to use and the lady who answered said we would have to chain the bicycles to a tree, 'at our own risk'. Later in the conversation she insisted on working this phrase in unnecessarily. The next morning no one was about to provide the breakfast we paid for-- on the phone the same lady said there would be no breakfast that day. No one has since replied to our email asking restitution for the breakfast. Stay at the Anand 'at your own risk.'
The drive way was not good on car suspension, Staff member knocked on our door at 9am to tell us we had to check out early, Bed was very uncomfortable had a bad bad for the rest of the day.And I feel this was overpriced compared to other places I have stayed at!!
Better than sleeping in the street
No hot water Cleanliness Shabby Staff No tea / sugar
Nothing about the Hotel
Wet room was great, big tv, friendly staff
Drive into car park uneven and hard on suspension
No staff present but lady on phone was nice Mattress comfortable
No wifi The shower didn't work Holes in the towels Hair on the sheets
Absolutely nothing, i wouldnt even recommend it to my worst enemy
Everything, shouldnt even be an accommodation place. Stayed three nights havent seen the owners yet. Even when booking in NO ONE to meet and greet us, all done by phone. First room shown, rubbish in bin and used towel on the bathroom floor, rang and was told another room to go to . This was a bit better, i suggest that the plumbing been seen to, in the shower i had to turn the shower off let the water drain away, then turn the shower on again. I feel they need to clean up their act, be involved with their customers. Harry from exmouth uk are you sure you were at anand lodge. Owners you could do so much to this place .
Free Wi Fi Good TV reception On suite was modern
The room smelled of urine. The duvet cover was shabby. Contact with staff is by phone no one greets you on arrival. coffee and tea not replenished on second day.
The plus side of this hotel is it's value for money in an area where hotel rooms are hard to come by and generally overpriced in my opinion. A clean, double room with ensuite shower/loo, tea & coffee making facilities with ample supplies, TV, windows that open for when it's hot and all for a bargain price. I can only speak for the room I had, and other rooms may not match this, but if the condition and servicing of my room is their standard, then its damned good for the price. Breakfast may be basic - cereal, porridge, toast are pretty much the only options - but for £5? Again, I consider that value for money in today's world. The staff were friendly and helpful. Finding a hotel or B & B in the Tunbridge Wells area (particularly in high season) for under £75 is nigh on impossible and the Anand Lodge fills a very big gap in the market. On a previous trip to Tunbridge Wells I stayed in a town centre hotel where I paid more than double the price and quite frankly, although the public areas of that hotel were far more luxurious, the room I was allocated was no better, possibly worse. The hotel is located in Pembury High Street and is only a few minutes walk from the bus stop where you can get a bus into Tunbridge Wells. Staff at the hotel also offered to arrange to drive me into town if needed - helpful.
Yes, the Anand Lodge is scruffy around the edges. The first impression of overflowing recycling bins in the car parking area is not a good one. The check in system is unusual - yes, you do this by calling through on a phone intercom system. That said, I had no problems with it and having emailed previously to say I would be a late check in there was no difficulty with this. Small things could improve first impressions of the Anand Lodge. Smokers use the area immediately outside the front door and yet there is no ashtray or bin for butts, meaning that they are obviously littered around the area - a poor first impression for anyone arriving in daylight. Breakfast is self service which is not a problem (I've stayed in many motels/hotels in the US where this is common) and the breakfast area is tiny. I was a single traveller and the breakfast area was not being used by anyone else when I was there but I can imagine this being a big problem for some people.
The peace and tranquility of in the location.
Didn't like the way the beddings in the room I stayed were not changed throughout my stay.
Nothing about it.
The place looked more like a Benefits Hostel rather than an Hotel. Please see my existing complaint with your firm.
Good location and quite.
Poor attendance if neccessary
No staff. only ever spoke to someone on an intercom. Self service breakfast in a dingy kitchen make your own toast? Towel in room was soaking wet. I could go on but not going to waste any more time with this place, will never stop there again!
Location bedroom. Fan provided which was quite sweet.
Sensor light in bathroom way to sensitive. Even when you turn in the bed it goes off. Shower also has no strength as it doesn't use the full nozzle only half. Mirror on shelf very wobbly. Need a fixed one bigger inside door.
shared toilet down corridor coded doors no staff about
