Very convenient location for Hampstead Heath and Kenwood House. Close to Golders Green underground and bus stations. Bus stop just at end of road. Well appointed comfortable room for small family run guest house. Reception/ booking staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast room well appointed Continental breakfast only limited choice of cereals, breads etc staff at breakfast unfriendly and abrupt which was a shame as room was nicely appointed. Insisted on photocopying id and storing on their system depsite the fact that we paid by debit card. Surely this is against data protection.

Clean, newly renovated rooms; friendly, helpful staff; nice area with some good and reasonably-priced restaurants;excellent location -tube,bus and National Express station just round the corner, yet very quiet;all in all great value for the price. Will definitely come back and recommend it to friends. Breakfast area maybe a bit on the small side

The standard of the hotel was beyond our expectations. We stayed there the night we moved into our flat in Golders Green. Place newly refurbished with high quality materials. Bathroom was immaculate and luxurious. Plugs were handy. We requested a double bed in our room and there were 1 double bed and 2 single beds. Staff very helpful and breakfast was alright. Highly recommended A price of 89 pounds incuding breakfast may be a bit expensive for a hotel in Golders Green but we think it's well worth it.

The hotel was very nice. It was a little bit far from the city center, but there is an underground station just across the street, and it takes about 15 minutes to arrive to the center. Our room was small, but it was OK for us. The staff were kind and friendly.

Apparently the hotel was renewed recently. The metro station is not far. We could not understand how this hotel is evaluated so high. It is extremely small, with only a minimal reception; we booked a family room for 4 people, and it was as large as a double room, only with 2 bed more. Breakfast was also minimal, and as we asked for a glass of water it was taken from the can. Pictures on internet are deceptive. There was an addictional cost for paying by credit card, not specified in the booking. All in all, we expected much more for this price.

The hotel was very clean; the rooms have been recently renovated and the bathroom was lovely. The room was very, very small--not enough for two people to move about the room without running into each other. Additionally, as a return visitor, I asked for a different room and was not accomodated.

I liked the area it was in and the proximity to the tube and bus stops. The room was clean and fairly comfortable. The continental breakfast was very good. The bathroom was well appointed and my favourite thing of all was the soap and shampoo dispensers in the shower cubicle! All very good but just two little niggles: 1. Being on the ground floor I would have appreciated a curtain or blind at the bathroom window. 2. The vanity unit/fridge configuraion seemed to be the wrong way around because to look in the mirror the chair had to be moved to a strange angle.

The staff was very helpful ... accomodated our requests ... giving directions. Area was very good ... residential in the hotel neigborhood ... but one block away interseting business district ... Golders Green transportaion center with access to busesand tube ... many interesting shops and ethnic restaurants! They were doing some renovatingwhich created some noise but not too bothersome. Workmen hit a hot water main and welost hot water (and heat) fora few hours .... but they got it fixed immediately and made sure everyone had heat again.

The services were excellent. Nice breakfast and very good location (only 2 mins walk from the tube station and in 20 mins in the city centre). We would recommend it for tourists as it was on the northern line which goes to many tourist attractions and soho-leicester sq.-piccadily region. We chose it as there were good comments and we didn't regret it. Good value for money! The room was very cosy and clean. It was also recently refurbished. The environment of the guest house was very friendly too.

The location, being near the Tube & Bus station.A small hotel, which is very well decorated, and very clean, with a lovely seating area in the garden. All the staff were friendly and helpfull. Booking a car parking space is essential.

The hotel is well located in north London and very close to Golder's Green tube station. Staff were friendly and helpful. Free internet connection. Recently refurbished dining room was pleasant. I would describe Anchor house as more like a guest house than a hotel. Our room and bed were very small. There was a lack of choice for breakfast and the quality was not very good.

On arrival at 11 am we were met by the proprietors who were very apologetic that renovation work was being done. We accept that work has to be done during the day and there was no inconvenience to us during our stay. Their level of concern indicated the great importance they attach to service and customer satisfaction.

The room was very clean, brand new bathroom, good tv with several channels, in-service coffee/tea, daily housekeeping, adequate breakfast bar, quiet side street. The location is ideal if flying into Stanstead as you can get a bus from the airport directly to the Golders Green tube station and the b&b is just across the road, about a 4-5 minute walk. The price for the room for a single was a bit steep since it is so far out of London City Centre (Zone 3), but the accommodations made it seem worth the extra cost compared to other options closer to town. The day staff was great, the evening staff (a young man with earphones) was a bit grumpy.
