The hotel was very clean; the rooms have been recently renovated and the bathroom was lovely. The room was very, very small--not enough for two people to move about the room without running into each other. Additionally, as a return visitor, I asked for a different room and was not accomodated.

I really liked the atmosphere of the Anchor House, warm, friendly and cozy. I also liked how we had a lot of tea and coffee supplies in the room.

They had a car park and it was near the tube. Breakfast was a little chaotic if everyone arrived at the same time.

Nice location to look around the city of London. Though the room is very small, almost everything is good. Good value. The staffs, In particular, the girl working in the kitchen, are friendly and kind.

I had such a comfortable stay at Anchor House. The staff were so welcoming and couldnn't do enough for me. The room, although small, had everything I could possibly need for my stay. I had a really comfortable, peaceful night sleep. A lovely, clean, comfortable hotel. In perfect location to the underground. Far enough not to hear any noise, but litterally two mins walk. Would definately recommend to anyone, especially lone travellers like me. The room was a little small but it didn't spoil anything. That would be my only comment.

I rather enjoyed the home- like atmosphere and the comfort of my room, as well as the proximity to public transportation connecting to and fro the city center and the Stanstead airport. Another plus is the peaceful location and the beautiful park nearby. All things considered, a very good choice..

Super little hotel, have stayed here before and think the hotel offers superb accomodation, great price and all the rooms kitted out to really good standards. Can`t fault the place. The only downside was the gentleman who works in the breakfast room, hardly smiled and seemed to take ages to make toast and just gave off an aura of uncaring.Sorry about that but if he seemed a bit happier to see guests in the morning it would go along way to a better overall picture.

We booked the family room for four people (1xDouble and 2x Singles) The room and ensuite were very clean, warm and quiet. The hotel is an excellent base for London city as the tube station is literally around the corner .The staff are pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good with a good selection.I would not hesitate to stay here again and would recommend this hotel it is excellent value for money. :) :) We have no negatives.

This is my third stay and the anchor house was as good as ever. Location: a neat, quiet street, just off the Golders Green junction. Room: I stayed in a ground floor room this time. The room was very quiet, warm and clean. There are also european sockets: the coffee/tea making facilities are really appreciated. The bed was very comfortable and spotless. There is a small fridge, which is useful if you have any special dietary needs. Bathroom: was very clean and warm and the towels were spotless. Breakfast: was a good variant of the continental style. They do not serve any meat, but make up for that with a good selection of fruits and vegetables. Checkout: very smooth. Mr. Pun was very efficient. The only bit that I was a bit unhappy about (and the reason why I rated the hotel staff as "good" instead of "excellent" despite the efforts of Mr. Pun during check-out), was during the check-in. The member of staff on duty was very efficient, but he asked me for my I.D.; I am sure that he is entitled to, but during my previous two stays in Anchor and my stays elsewhere in the city, no one had asked me for my I.D. Therefore even though the check-in was as efficient as usual, it was a bit too professional for my taste.

The room was very clean, brand new bathroom, good tv with several channels, in-service coffee/tea, daily housekeeping, adequate breakfast bar, quiet side street. The location is ideal if flying into Stanstead as you can get a bus from the airport directly to the Golders Green tube station and the b&b is just across the road, about a 4-5 minute walk. The price for the room for a single was a bit steep since it is so far out of London City Centre (Zone 3), but the accommodations made it seem worth the extra cost compared to other options closer to town. The day staff was great, the evening staff (a young man with earphones) was a bit grumpy.

Anchor House is clean and freshly refurbished. It is warm and comfortable and the staff are friendly. The room was well designed and the en-suite shower room was modern and scrupulously clean. It has more extras than you would expect in a larger hotel such as wi-fi, fridge, hair dryer, safe, iron and ironing board. It is in a lovely peaceful location but only a minutes walk from Golders Green tube station. Access from the m1 is easy. The continental breakfast was very good. We will stay there again and will recommend it to our friends.

Cleanliness: The room was spotless, the bed linen were very clean. Bathroom was spotless too. Bedroom: Had a very comfortable mattress and they had left the heating on in the room so that I was able to enter a warm and homely room. Additional pillows and blankets were available. I hardly heard anything and was slept like a log. Facilites: Clothes iron, minibar, safe and kettle. I was able to have a few cups of tea and coffee before going to the breakfast. Breakfast: A very healthy and filling variant of the continental breakfast. Eggs, fruits, cheese, cereals, toasts, croissants etc with jams and nutella. Check-in and check-out: very smooth. Location: This hotel is the closest in the area to the tube, coach and bus stations (about 1 min walk away). Supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, churches, temples and synagogues are all very close by. The locality is very safe and the transport facilites enable you to enjoy the inner city without being exposed to the hassle of living in the inner city. There is also a big park (with a mini zoo) nearby. Other comments: I had "checked out" Anchor (and a couple of other "hotels" in the vicinity) when it was under the former management and had decided to stay at another place near finchley road, even though it was a bit far from Golders Green. Under the new management, Anchor looks great, and I hope that they will keep up the good work. This is my second stay there and I have no intention of checking in elsewhere during my future visits to Golders Green. I unreservedly recommend this hotel, should you wish to stay in the Golders Green area.

I was mostly guided by price, location and the glowing recommendations. I found Anchor House to be very clean, comfortable, with friendly staff and a surprisingly fantastic bathroom! Breakfast was described as 'continental' but it was much better than than I had expected. I will definitely return when I next visit London. My room was very small, but for just one person, it was fine. There was a lack of storage and I had to live out of my suitcase.

Clean, comfortable, welcoming.Handy position close to the underground and about 15-20 minutes to central London. We loved the room everything was almost brand new in the room and for me to find a really comfortable bed was a veryrare occurence. The slight critique with the room was there were no drawers to put small items of clothes away but apart from that we enjoyed a great stay and look forward to staying there again in the near future.

For reasons unknown, booking.com puts other hotels higher in the list when you click the "distance" tab, even though Anchor is closest to the station. The room was very clean, the towels and bed clothes very neat and the bed quite comfortable. The hotel is perfectly situated in a side road, for the coach, tube and bus connections. The breakfast slection may not be appreciated by the meat lovers, but was very healthy and varied and had a good selection of fruits and beverages. The area is very safe, with shops, cafes, restaurants, churches, temples and synagogues nearby. The (excellent) electric ventilation system was a bit too complicated for me and though I did figure out the basics, I think that it would be helpful if the management leaves a small printout of the basic instructions in the room. There are radiator backups in the room.
