I arrived late and the weather was very cold the night I stayed. I arrived after midnight so everyone had gone to bed which I expected. However it was really cold and the central heating was off and I could not turn it on in the bedroom (no 1)n. As a consequence it was so cold that I had to sleep fully clothed and had a bad night. In the morning at around 7 am the heating did come on and so I got a bit of sleep then, but it was bad to go to a hotel room in midwinter with no heating
Excellent location, great view, helpful and polite staff, variety of beers and darts in the bar, English Breakfast :)
Loud music from bar downstairs till 1am, shared facilities, burned dry burgers...
We stayed in the pub/B&B during our weekend trip to Wales. The pub is adjacent to the castle and the sea so the location is fantastic. The staff was great and helpful, we had the twin room which doesn't have a sea view but the room was nice, tidy and really cosy. The whole time being there we felt really comfortable. It was Saturday and we were warned from other reviews it might be a bit noisy but there was no band in the evening so we had perfect sleep. The bed is really comfy and in the shared bathroom which is btw normal, nice and clean, we never seen anyone else. Sink and kettle with tea etc in the room. The stay was excellent and the breakfast having the view...amazing!
nothing I can think of, the pub might be lively when band is playing Fri - Sat evenings but other than that it is really good accommodation for easy going people
Everything was great the stuff look after you. The accommodation was great and location was perfect and I was pleasantly surprised by what value we got for our money. Also the food was amazing.
There was nothing that I didn't like
Great location, warm and friendly.
Sharing bathoom with not only other travellers but with staff also. Cleanliness of carpets etc. in shared area suffered from a great deal of traffic and was in need of cleaning or/and changing and protection.
Central location and good vantage point. Primarily used as a base to explorer North Wales, ride and walk. Very simply all we wanted was a room for the night and breakfast, facilities to store bikes etc.
Keep in mind you are staying in a B&B as part of lively pub, so this will not be the quietest of places till after closing time ! This was not an issue for us, but do understand this. There is non en-suite facilities but rather a shared bathroom between three bedrooms.
The location and access to the Lon Las cycle route was excellent. The live music was very good. They allowed us to store the bikes safely in our room.
The evening meal was basic. The room and corridor were in need of decorating and upgrading. The breakfast was very late. We wanted breakfast at 7.00am for an early start we had to wait until 8.30 so did not leave until 9.15. This meant we had to cycle for an hour in the dark at the end of the day.
The staff were very nice and the locals were very friendly and we had a nice night in the bar with them. The location was great, you coudn't get closer to Caernavon Castle unless you were staying in it. Beautiful view out of our window across to Anglesey.
The room was very basic with no ensuit. The shared bathroom wasn't for the faint hearted and one of my friends wouldn't use the shower. The meal we had in the evening was ok but the cooked breakfast wasn't very hot and was just about edable.
The views from the family. room were excellent. The breakfast was ok.
Being asked to change rooms because of a staff error. Being over to a smaller room with a sink that was falling off the wall and creaking floor boards no matter where you stood. Being woken at 2:00am by a washing machine in the room above. Being woken by a generator at 4:00am that didn't stop until 6:45am. The view from the twin room was two walls and a slate roof. The shared bathroom was a nightmare as most of the guests were waking at the same time. Didn't appreciate some of the language used by staff when they were working in the kitchen which was on the same floor and adjacent to the twin room.
Pretty much everything ...
That there were no on suites but for 1 night fully ok
There is nothing to recommend about this place
This is a scuffy hovel of a place. It is dirty and noisy. Avoid at all costs and I am surprised that they are on Booking.com as it lets down the site's otherwise excellent places to stay.
Breakfast was good, although quite greasy. Excellent location and view of water from restaurant is superbe. Value is good, BUT I was not happy with other aspects.
Sharing washroom with toilet that did not work really well. Food was greasy. Floor of bedroom was on an angle. Cobwebs on ceiling on bedroom. Staff need to keep conversations between staff and client private. We were shocked that people on the patio seemed to know that my wife was not happy with initial observation of the room, and folk other than staff were making comments.
location and having bar in same building is nice
could do with a refurb
Excellent location, just across the street from the castle. The room shares its building with a nice pub.
Noise from the pub made sleeping a real challenge.
Traditional town pub with live music at the weekend. Fabulous location on the front at Caernarvon & on the coastal footpath.
Room small & a bit tatty with smells coming up from the kitchen when we opened the window. No view.
The room was clean with plenty of space. The girl behind the bar was friendly.
The outside door to the B&B did not open from the outside and so it had to be kept on the latch. Also the music from the bar was literally vibrating the walls of the bedroom and didn't stop until past mid-night. Would not recommend for people that need to be up early the next morning.
location fabulous, but through the sat nav out, no actual address, because its between the castle and the waterfront promenade, live music sunday, good food, great ambience, very popular pub
if your looking for 5 star this is not for you, but we were more than happy to be a bit downmarket, for a gem of a place.
On beach, in front of castle.
Very loud music late.
Everyone was friendly and the beds in our room were comfortable - we all had a good nights sleep
Very central location in an historic building with seaside views. Comfortable beds. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Bargain price.
Friday night live music was noisy though we slept through it, and we were warned in advance. Old floors meant people walking overhead were noisy.
Right in the heart of town, laid-back and unpretentious
Filthy, old, run down - could not wait to escape. Cleaning lady made our breakfast!!!Not her fault but not a good combination!!! Would not recommend this place to anyone!
location .. location view .. absolutely nostalgic
nothing ... shared bathrooms sometimes mean a wait .. but go down to the pub and use that one .. was really a great stay
Convenient. View/area. Breakfast included.
Noise from pub. Thin walls, could hear room next door. Shared bathroom.
