Score from 149 reviews
“ Beautiful decor friendly staff good food great location for touring north Wales and a short distance to Holyhead port ”
Bernard,
Cavan
In the pretty village of Menai Bridge, the 200 year-old Anglesey Arms is rich in original charm and traditional character, with tasty home-cooked food and real ales. The Anglesey Arms is the first building you see as you enter the island of Anglesey over Thomas Telford's famous Menai Suspension Bridge over the Menai Strait. The friendly pub serves traditional real ales and good, honest pub food in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. The building is steeped in history and the bell once used to call last orders was the original ship's bell rescued from the HMS Conwy, which ran aground in the Menai Straits in April 1953. The rooms feature modern comforts and facilities, including private bathrooms, flat-screen TVs and tea/coffee. Free Wi-Fi is available in the bar. A full English breakfast is served each morning and free private parking is available on site. Highway A55 and the city of Bangor are just minutes away. The Anglesey Arms was perfect for my requirements i.e. an overnight business trip. The staff were helpful and the evening meal I enjoyed in the resturant was excellent. Nothing

Sam, one of the staff was really helpful and friendly and looked after us. Nice chap. All the staff were smiley and ready to help. Hotel was exactly what we were looking for in all respects. Couldn't fault the staff, hotel, food or the area. Brilliant trip to treat our friend who helped me look after my poorly brother during the last 18 months. She loved it and the steam trains!! Nothing, it was all good. Friday and Saturday nights were a bit noisy but we didn't mind people having fun.

My sister -in-law & I had a 2nd floor room overlooking the road. It was very well appointed & we appreciated having a bath as well as a shower.I was afraid that road noise wold be a problem but it was fine.Very comfortable beds too. Also a very helpful Receptionist on Friday night who carried our cases up to the room. Service at breakfast was slow and we had to ask twice for our drinks. I left a water bottle in the double bed but don't need it back !

Very efficient and friendly staff. Meal in the evening was very good. Our room was modern and facilities good. The position of the hotel was good for us as we were doing the Wales Coastal Path. The path passes the door after the bridge!!

Yours is a terrific hotel. The position by the bridges is marvellous.(great walks, history, spectacular scenery). The room decor is highly original - the most stylish I've seen in 25 years of visiting over 70 countries (I'm a lecturer in Tourism Studies). The service was exceptional e.g. my car broke down and the lovely hotel receptionist hung on the line for 15 minutes to book the AA to fix it. I arrived at 1.00 a.m. off the boat, but there was a personable night manager who'd waited up to check me in. And the in-room choice of tea, chocolate. ground and instant coffee + biscuits was far more generous than the norm. The overall value was exceptional. Many thanks. Tony Seaton The fact that I could only stay 2 nights instead of a week. I'll be back to fix this.

Staff. Location. Package value. Good bar/ dining area. Parking onsite No orange juice at breakfast. Room 103 was a great room but it was noisy until bar closing time. This could affect a light sleeper. No sky sports !

Room was of a high spec apart from wardrobe which had a supported leg. Room sound proofing very poor. Loud noise from bar below until midnight. It would be difficult for people to get an early night's sleep.
