Everything was perfect, all the staff were so helpful and very pleasant, the whole place was so clean we couldn't believe it, the best hotel for the price we have been to for a long time, also it was so good to have self service breakfast that was lovely and hot and so well presented, most places are not up to this standard. Could not fault a thing.

We enjoyed our stay a lot! The rate we paid for the room was very low and the location was great, 5 minutes away from the coast and 15 to the Bournemouth pier. We made use of the swimming pool, which was surprisingly empty, and had a great time. The breakfast was great, with a buffet and deliciously fresh croissants. We also had dinner every night at the restaurant and the food was of high quality, well presented and very tasty, even (especially) the vegetarian dishes. The restaurant staff was fantastic, super friendly, polite and helpful. The room was as expected, just as the pics you find on the internet. Only criticism, the room we stayed (215) was not the best, it had a funny shape and only a small window in the corner. The noise insulation was minimal and we could hear everything on the floor above. Luckily, the noise was sporadic and didn't bother us much. However,we liked everything else so much that we'll be recommending the hotel to our friend and we would definitely stay again.

Friendly staff, menu is very good. The dinner, bed & breakfast deal is great. The location is excellent, just off the centre of Bournemouth The hotel does need some updating with windows needing replacement and getting rid of the creaky floorboards. The noise from people passing disturbed my sleep.

The staff were all very friendly and helpfull , the single room comfortable but basic with all I needed for a one night stay , the breakfast was good and the serving staff very helpfull and kindly chatted to this single diner ! when I was awoken at 6.30am by rather noisy coach partys rising early I found there was no coffe in my room. Now I cant function without it so went down to Reception who gave me some. Then on showering , there was only a trickle of water not a spray. i complained about this and was assured it would be dealt with. Also, this hotel is 10 minutes by car ( or a £7 taxi ride ) away from the center of town so my making 4 trips was costly.

The warm welcome from the reception staff and their williness to help with a small problem we had with the telephones in our rooms. The restaurant staff were also efficient without being intrusive. All in all we had a relaxing three night stay.

Very helpful, friendly staff. Good breakfast. Very clean. Basic hard bed. Prices don't seem to bear any resemblance to b w book. Eg. £35.50 b&b pppn - 20% off 4 nights - £67 !!!!? good value but shouldn't it be £56.80 ?

Easy to find, very close to where I was working. The room was cleaned well and the general hotel was clean, tidy and in good repair. The food in the restaurant was home cooked and plenty of variety at breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful and the overall stay was a good one. Thank you Only down side was as it wasn't double glazed the room and bathroom specifically was very cold at night. Luckily a heater was supplied by the heat went once turned off! The radiator wasn't all that hot when it was on.

Lovely hotel, good location in Bournemouth. We had a great room for a really cheap rate, Would highly recommend this hotel for value for money. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay except being woken up at 8am by the housekeeper shouting through the corridor to one of the cleaners! I work in hotels and appreciate that hotels can be noisy but you can hear other guests moving around above you and the corridors creaking, we were very close to the lift so think this made it worse!

I thought that the staff were welcoming, the room was lovely and the bed was too comfy! The restuarant food was to die for and the breakfast catered for everyone. The option to have food delivered to your room was a bonus! The shower was very dissapointing.

The staff at the front desk were very helpful and the breakfast superb. The room was freezing as the windows had metal frames and we were there in minus conditions in early February. The TV had continual interference, watching it was not fun and when asked if they could fix it were told there was nothing that could be done. We left 2 days early as one of was not well. I would not recommend this hotel.

“This was our first trip to The Cumberland Hotel. What a delight! The Hotel is decorated In Art Deco style in vibrant Red, Black,Silver and Glass...STUNNING!! They have soft music in the background that relate to the time of day, very nicely slotting in to the mood changes as the day moves to night..Clever - rather than the usual "elevator" style that a lot of Hotel tend to have. Our welcome first kicked in when we checked in at Reception. The Receptionist was lovely, very friendly and helpful. We had only booked for one night but was able to stay on for another night with no problem at all. We were early so she took our bags from us and we were able to explore the Hotel. We had a sandwich and drink by the pool which was brilliant! The pool was inviting and the set up outside with the seating and tables was really nice. Everywhere we walked, the staff looked up and smiled, genuine welcome smiles not the plastic aloof smiles that are in so many Hotels these days! We ate in the Hotel on both our evenings. The Brasserie Grill one night and the Mirabelle Restaurant the other. The meals that the Chef cooked were delicious. Presentation and taste sublime! Service was superb in both places. Our room was spotless and very comfortable with the only downside being that we are used to a King size bed so the Double for us was small! Next time we are going for the Sea View with Balcony with the Kingsize bed! Breakfast was delicious with the usual Buffet Style on offer. If you wanted Kippers or something that was not the usual Full English, you only had to ask! I was a bit disappointed in the selection of fruit on offer. The choice of Prunes, Grapefruit and Melon is a tad outdated. Lots of places that we have stayed have a larger variety on offer ie: Kiwi Fruit/ Melon Selection/ Bananas/ Grapes etc with more of a choice in Yoghurts too. There was bowl of fruit available. We are definitely going back to this Hotel, we cannot praise it enough!!” Gerald, Yateley |
