Lcation for Bournemouth was great, just a few minutes walk to cliff & beach. Town not that far either. Pleasent food & service.
limited sound proofing between bedrooms
Location for the airshow and walking into town was perfect. The staff were very helpful and accommodating
A very friendly staff made our stay very comfortable despite poor weather ! It was easy to find and well located.
Everything. We asked for a quiet room when we booked and were upgraded to a superior room. Hotel less than 10 minutes from the beach (if using the beach lift) 20 mins from town centre (if walking). Good selection provided in the breakfast buffet. Bar menu also provided a good selection and very reasonably priced. Swimming pool area clean and well maintained.
Nothing but to be picky; it would be nice to see a high fibre cereal such as All Bran available for breakfast and mushrooms on the hot buffet. But that is just, as I say, being picky. Overall we had a lovely, comfortable stay at this hotel
Excellent food The very pleasant and helpful staff. Very clean room and hallways.
Hard water, ( That's Bournemouth)
We stayed at the best western for 3 nights with our 5year old. We stayed in one of the chalets which I could not fault. The room was very clean and had everything we needed ie hair dryer wash bits tea and coffee. Staff were friendly and our daughter was given a colouring pack at the start of the hoilday and also were DVDs to chose from to watch which was a good touch. We really enjoyed out stay.
Only down side to our room was the bed was to us abit uncomfortable and the pillows were not great. But we was only there for 3 nights.
Bright light outside my window made it very hard to sleep without waking up throughout the night.
We thought that the rooms needed some TLC a bit old fashioned.
The hotel is only a short walk to the cliffs and a good walk into the town centre. The staff are friendly and helpful If possible try to book a room overlooking the gardens and road.
the whole experience was very good.
Staff were excellent. Food was also excellent. Room comfy. Close to beach and town. Would definately stay there again.
No air conditioning and were on 3rd floor so quite hot at times. Shower needed upgrading .
Its whole demeanor efficiency and friendliness, The convenience of its position in relation to walking or using public transport was first class.
Great location, friendly staff, rooms decent size
No hot water for two mornings, use of 1 iron and ironing board within the hotel, not enough plug sockets
I like the location and the staff
The room is too small AC is not exist Breakfast no variety Noise from next to the room
Breakfast, Dinner, Location, Staff & Parking
Room a bit dated & WiFi weak in bedroom
Spacious, clean well equipped room, lovely food friendly staff. Good location close to sea, bars and shops.
Pool not open during our stay
Comfortable bed. Good breakfast with wide choice. Very friendly and helpful staff (including sending on something left behind in hotel). Good lounge and facilities for lounge bar meals. We had 2 dinners in restaurant; both very good.
Lift a bit too small (only carrying 2 people). Rather misleading statement in brochure that hotel was only 5 minutes walk from main shops and beach. That was particularly disappointing to me in view of some difficulty I have in walking.
The hotel is a short walk from the beach at East Cliff and has a big car park. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, and the staff are friendly and helpful. I was totally satisfied with the hotel and next time I visit Bournemouth I will definitely stay there again.
Personally, there was nothing that I didn't like but my friend found it hard to sleep due to the noise of traffic (our room faced the road). I slept well due to wearing ear plugs. If you are a light sleeper I would recommend you to ask for a room at the back.
Bed was comfortable although quite small. Buffet breakfast was very good, restaurant was spacious.Close to beach and not far to walk to town.Car parking excellent on site
Heated towel rail on in bathroom, made room very hot in middle of summer.Very creaky floorboards in our room and above us, not good for a good nights sleep! Room and bathroom could do with updating, but were clean.
Dinning room & Bar very comfortable and staff very pleasant.Room clean & comfortable
Poor choice of food on Dinner Menu Too many fish dishes! Soup of day same everyday.Too many meals with £6 supplement !
Staff were very helpful, approachable. And friendly.
Bottled water in bedroom
service & food
Comfortable bed. Friendly and helpful staff. Good location.
Shower drips...has little or no water pressure. As a previous review said..Paying for parking...did not see any signs to say the money is going to charity. Please do provide a shotgun...The noise seagulls make all night every night drove me crazy.
The weather, the beach, and the Brazilian restaurant in Bournemouth centre.
When we pulled up at the hotel we were confused as the hotel didn't look like the pictures as it was so dilapidated looking. In addition the hotel car park was absolutely abysmal! Not only is it an extra fee to park in this poor excuse of a car park but the cars are so tightly packed in it at various angles it is nearly impossible to get your car through, let alone find a space! We spent most of our time in the hotel worried about the safety of our car as we felt it was likely it would get scratched or damaged. Initially we were put in a room on the top floor which was extremely small and smelt of damp. I asked the lady on reception for a room change and was granted one without anyone even checking the room we had originally been placed in. This was good service on one level but also suggested to me that they knew there was a problem and were potentially 'trying their luck' by putting us in this room. The second room we were offered was a much bigger size than the previous room but smelt of damp also. This room however was a chalet room and therefore had a door that could be opened on to the car park. We therefore accepted the room as we could open the door in an attempt to get rid of the smell in the room. The shower in the room was awful. It would intermittently change between a freezing cold temperature and a scolding one. The water flow wasn't very strong at all in fact a trickle would be an accurate description. The bed has given both myself and my partner bad backs as the mattress was raised in the middle so our heads were lower than our bodies! This hotel I would deem to be a budget hotel with out the price to match! It was a total rip off for what it was and is in dire need of an update! The staff however were friendly and professional.
Room was a good size and was quiet away from the main road. Bed was comfy and the room had TV/DVD, tea/coffee tray and all mod cons. Staff were very friendly on check in and the communal areas and bar were tidy and comfortable. There was adequate car parking at at only £2 a day this was excellent value as was the free wifi. The en suite had a powerful shower and came with good toiletries. Didn't have a meal or breakfast there so can't comment on the food but the menu look good
Hated with a passion the creaky floorboards! We were in a room on the 2nd floor (211) and the floor above us made so much noise. I wouldn't blame the guests as they weren't being rowdy but the floor/ceiling of this old building. Their bed above also creaked every time they moved so we had the worst sleep ever. At one point in the middle of the night it seemed as if someone was in the room. Anytime anyone moved on the floor above it woke us up. Even though the hotel and staff are lovely I would never stay here again. A good nights sleep is paramount to a decent hotel stay. I mentioned this to the hotel receptionist at check out and she was good and knew what I was talking about as I get the impression it is complained about regularly. Would have been nice to have been offered a partial refund for my stay as a poor nights broken sleep isn't good.
